The PDF instructions are not the same as the video instructions. They are not clear as to which piece you are to use for the mesh pockets - size wise. I cut the pocket pieces out to the pdf instructions and the 12x 7" piece does not correspond to the video or the pdf. Not happy.

I bought your pattern but just getting ready to make it now. I was wondering if there are any up dates to your pattern.

Hi Natalie, I have almost finished making this bag and am having a problem getting the bottom to lay flat. I have sewn on the pockets/sides and it almost seems like the base is too big. My measurements are as indicated on the pattern. Any comment on what I've done.

You should ask Jess from Oklaroots to do a tutorial on the whole bag she does an excellent job without giving out pattern details many people want a full tutorial.

You do not have a video On how to connect the front back and ironing pad as well as straps, where can I find it?

No instructions on how she got to this point. Poor communication.

It would be nice if she show how far down to attach the pockets, such as, have a ruler instead be so wrapped up in herself of look what I've done. Very poor communication.

I made a small change to the elastic for the pens that I saw used in an edc pouch recently. I think it works great with this bag: Take two elastic bands instead of one. I use a wider one and a narrower one. Sew the narrow elastic on top of the wide elastic forming many small loops for pens as shown in this video. Then sew the wider band to the bag panel as in this video, but making fewer + larger loops! This way you can store stuff in the large loops like seam gauges and stick small items in front of them like pens. :-)

I think the explanations for this part were really good in the pattern I purchased, but seeing you show the pieces and how to combine them in video as well made me more confident when sewing. I like this! :)

I had trouble sewing the sidepanel + pockets to the base, because I didn‘t understand the explanations on page 25 of the pattern as a new beginner. Then I found sewingtimes „DIY sew together bag“ video and it all made sense! :-D I just have to place the sidepanel to the edge, then press those flaps from the pockets flat and sew over them as well. Suddenly the text on page 25 made perfect sense! It‘s so simple but my beginner sewist brain was thinking I had to sew around them or something haha So stupid! Thanks for these videos Natalie. I love your bags. They‘re so practical! I‘m making mulitples.

I purchased this pattern from you. I totally love it. I didn't have a purpose, I wanted to learn how to make bags. It is the cutest thing, ever, instructions are clear and it easy to assemble. I now use it to hold my collection of different scissors in my sewing room. I then purchased the pattern for the sewing bag. That was a higher skill level. That is amazing, totally amazing. It was worth the investment of time and money. It was made from tartan and cotton velvet. Love them both. Xx I intend to make the sewing bag for my daughter in law who has just started in her sewing journey

Near the end, you skip important parts. Bottom, iron, lining the inside. Many things I figured out myself. Beginner will have a difficult time. 😊 love the bag. My first is a test bag. My advice cut as you go...I ended up with some miss cuts. 😊
