Приєднався 19 тра 2013
Better Than Not is the podcast that aims to capture shifting perspective and though provoking ideas in conversation. Based loosely on my series "A Changing Frame of Reference" that you can read on the Substack app. I hope you will as it may give you better insight into what this podcast is all about.
I am the host, Doug Gardham, an author of both novels and articles some of which you'll find posted on this channel including some of my interviews and books.

BTN #71 – Todd Leyden - Eyes of the Father
In this episode of Better Than Not, Todd Leyden, friend, author and Executive Director of Fort Wilderness, returns (first time in video) to talk about transitioning from city life to the wilderness and his world after his book-Eyes of the Father-was published.
We talk about his unanticipated role at Fort Wildness and moving his wife and family into northern Wisconsin after the passing of his young son Payton. We talk about his life changes and challenges, moving into the unknown, after leaving everything that many might consider their life’s goals, to start over. An inspirational story if ever there was one.

I got to meet Douglas at Barnes n Noble last week. He was doing a book signing, and greeting people at the entrance. Wonderful guy. I bought a copy of this book "The Actor" and he signed it for me, and it is very good so far.
Finished reading Drive-in which I bought from you half years ago in one of the Chapters in Toronto. Good stories, especially Devon Tower and Saved by 532, melodramatic and intense. Googled something about you and found an interview on Globe and Mail. Me too a writer so I know the burden of another writer, especially traveling several years throughout North America and making his excursion in every possible bookstore. I admire your tenacity and endurance. Keep on your writing journey and hope the whirl of wind will lead its way to elevate you so that more people can get access to your books.
Thank you Tony. Sorry it took me four years to respond. My latest novel is The Musician. There is much more to come. I've a new series on Substack as well called "A Changing Frame of Reference." My website is www.douglasgardham.com, which stays pretty up to date with my goings on. I'm now represented by Max Tremblay from Sugar23. Take care.
