I had the exact same feeling about the creative process (and still definitely do) when I was in high school and I would just scribble faces and expressions and fill every page of my journals with cartoon characters because it helped me cope and get through rough shit at the time. And looking back on them over the years I noticed a slight hint of improvement and it was so rewarding to see actual progress with just mindless scribbles on paper. You definitely aren't alone on how you feel about your art, we all struggle with it as we grow but that's just how we improve and learn for the future.
