22:47 I always thought it was a pretty crass comment that Danai made here because it shows a lack of understanding for Michonne as a character. The reason Michonne acted that way in the comic was because of the brutality that the governor put her through. He tied her up, SAed her with his henchman, basically saying that he would keep her that way until she took her own life. It wasn’t that she was being promiscuous because that’s the way she was. It was a trauma response and I just thought that was a little crude to assume the character’s actions deserve to be denigrated.
In what way was that crass??? She said thanks for having chemistry so that she didn't have to make out with different guys like the comic books. I'm pretty sure she's very sympathetic to Michonne in the comic book but Michonne wasn't the best. She just gravitated towards every black guy no matter who couid potentially be hurt by it (carol). Yes it was a trauma response but it doesn't justify her actions. I'm very happy they changed the character of Michonne in the show. I've never seen a very complex black women so well written in tv like Michonne.
@@discoveringhealthandfinanc8328 the reason it was crass is because it focused on the action instead of the trauma behind it. In the comic Michonne was brutalized and tortured by the Gov. so she had a fear of white men. There was a BIG kick up about her treatment in the comic, and rightfully so. The show tried to give Michonne the anger toward the Gov. without the trauma, and I never thought it worked. Going back on what Danai said, insinuated that "Michonne was a slut in the comic, kinda glad she's not in the show." I find that crass. You can read that however you want to, you are not me. And my opinion is mine to have.

Does anyone know Which episode they are referring to when Andy (Rick) checked out (looked up and down) Danai (Michonne)? I saw it on talking dead when Norman (Daryl) first said it but they never actually mentioned the scene/episode and I’m just curious haha. I’ve seen this show all the way through including spin offs about 10 times and I still catch little things that interest me so I like going back and finding stuff haha Thanks all and be well. It’s episode 3x16 “Welcome to the Tombs”. There is a scene when the group is preparing for the governor to attack and Michonne tells Rick she understands why he thought about giving her up and thanks him for taking her in. Rick initially says he took her in because she had the baby formula and there’s some . . . Eye acting, shall we say, in the scene 😂. The episode was the season finale and Norman, Yvette, and Chad were guests on the Talking Dead to talk about the finale.
