    He will use it to tell us how great he is, he never misses an opportunity to try to remind us that. His team has been pushing this angle of how smart he is as a basketball player, so this show will enable him to say somewhat basic stuff that he sees but paint him as unique in this aspect. In that clip they showed he basically describes "nexting" or a "peel switch", something that has been done for years in basketball. It is a great way to improve his image and get applause without actually failing, which would happen if he were to really test his basketball IQ by entering into coaching or being a true GM like a Russell, Bird, West etc.

    • @mouchigo

      Even if he doesn’t go super deep with the knowledge that is still a void that is kinda empty on a mainstream level. He was getting better every year until the injury - I assume he would have worked on his 3 point game a lot as it became more and more necessary just like Carter or Kidd. I think his mentality would have led him to at least 1 championship if not more. Maybe Michael would have talked to him and given advice as his career went on since they both have great love for the game and Chicago. I think he would have been a huge issue for Lebron's legacy

    Good video man, we are all very quick to judge - especially when it's someone famous cause we can't relate and we treat them inhumanely. I do think he "deserves" a little bit of what he gets because he often times does go out of his way to start shit, but I guess so did MJ, Kobe, etc. Luka definitely does it a lot too and it kinda makes me mad but not sure what exactly is going on psychologically that makes me not dislike guys like Luka as much as I tend to dislike Booker. I think maybe I feel like Luka attacks guys who are known for their shit attitude whereas booker just kinda goes after random people? Thoughts?

  • @doingmore
    @doingmore 11 місяців тому

    being honest, i dont think every great talent would translate to today’s game now as seamlessly as these conversations seem to always go. i more than respect rose’s athleticism, and inside scoring. but players nowadays weigh more, are faster, smarter , etc. in the 1980-90s , they were 40-50 lbs less heavy in every position. Nowadays, the weight, height, ability, etc is only MUCH greater. Rose is most definitely not doing nearly half of the match up killing in today’s game. Ja Morant is a similar in explosive style but can shoot better, it doesnt translate into this game as easy anymore.

      @doingmore it is true that not everyone’s game translates to current era but D. Rose is a pretty safe bet. Just of the rules alone and spacing alone. D. Wherever you got your information from you need to throw it out the window cuz that sounds like it just came out your asshole lmao. If you look at actual data and not just from watching nba highlights on youtube then you would know that the average height and average weight of nba players throughout the decades didnt change much except the late 90's and the 2000s-10 due to the big men era at that time. And no they are not faster. They just have more freedom due to the rule changes. You can go on a fast break and do dribble moves more freely due to the game being less physical than before which makes the game look faster because it promotes more offense rather than defense so the nba can attract more fans. Luka said it best in an interview. Its easier for him to score in the nba due to the rules compared to european basketball even though nba players are much better players. In europe there is less time on the shot clock and there is no 3 second violation in the paint on defense and its much more physical just like in the 90 and early 2000s. So big men like Shaq, patrick ewing, alonzo mourning, mutumbo, hakeem, Tim duncan, david robinson etc... All those great shot blockers were camping in the paint every single god damn possesion. And we already have someone from the era of the early 2000s-2010s taking advantage of these rules and less physicality. Which is the main reason he is still dominating today and his numbers are even better than before lmao. Its lebron james lmao. He obviously is not the same player as before and he is definitely not in his prime and yet he can still average 30 in this era. You know why? because of rules and physicality. We already know he can average 30 and he is damn near 40 years of age so what if we put miami lebron in this era in his prime? That mf averaging 40 per game if he wanted to lmao. And you telling me guys like D rose cant translate his talent in todays era? When he was literally going head to head agaisnt lebron and dwade during that playoff run in 2011 lmaoooo. And thats not even prime D rose. He never reached his peak.

      Dude this “era” isn’t evolution. Anybody from any era can play in this era and I do mean plumbers too. If Westbrook was able to have a good career after rose, ja morant and even Zion, why wouldn’t D Rose? Even magic can play in this era. Jokic and Ben Simmons are here and magic was a combination of both of those guys.

    LUKA is averaging just 0,5 less points than EMBIID.. And at the same time being the best playmaker in the NBA but people say he isnt in the MVP race because his team dont have a good seed. EMBIID had 43 wins last season....LUKA will end with a lot more wins.

    The last I checked, the award is call the Most Valuable Player which implies what it says...it is the Most Valuable player to his team. It does not say The Most Valuable Player who is surrounded by the best supporting cast. Maybe they should have two awards, one for the legitimate most valuable, and one for the voting press who have bastardized the award for what it is.

      I don’t disagree with you all the way but shouldn’t MVP equate to being able to lift your squad to a top seed in your conference? You don’t necessarily have to be #1 but it’s hard to give the nod to someone that might not make the post season against guys with amazing numbers themselves and a top seed

      @@mouchigono i disagree mvp should elevate your team to make playoffs 1 man can’t win a ring by himself in basketball you take Luka off the mavs and the mavs are horrible luka makes them a playoff contender joker who i like a bunch could go to the pistons i believe and make them a play in team maybe but not good enough to win a ring joker team rn has good players all around him same with Tatum mvp shouldn’t be awarded based on record should be rewarded by is this mf a difference maker to the league and his team which i believe all the mvp contenders are that but like mvp is suppose to be the baddest mf in the league luka is carrying a team with the only help really being kyrie when these other guys have a full team around them

      That's not on him as much as it is on his middle of the road teammates and less than mediocre head coach. Kyrie is great, but he has missed sooo0 maaanyyy gaaaames! If Luka put up these stats while playing for the 9 or 10 seed Lakers and Warriors, he would have greater consideration than he does in Dallas. If a Cleveland reserve doesn't launch a three quarter court, second longest game winning shot of a prayer in the final second of a game, the Mavs would now be the six seed and the conversation changes. It's the things that are beyond his control that are killing his chances.

      Mavs have had nearly 100 games missed by starters this season…without those injuries they’re a 1-2 team in the West…double standard being applied to Euro players again this year

      If you look at their record with Luka and without due to injury, they absolutely do equate to wins especially because he had to put the team on his back due the have the massive amount of starter misses due to injury.

    Luka should win MVP this season, he has the best numbers, crazy moves, lot's of records... To me, he is the MVP. Maybe Jokič could get it, but he already has 2, others are just not at the same level. I wonder if some player this season had historical numbers, let's say just for the sake of argument 45 points, 15 rebounds, 15 ast , something like this and be 10 seed in rankings. Would he than deserve an MVP reward? I'm just asking cos it is not logical to me why would TEAM rankings be a factor for an individual reward. So why than we dont just pick players from the 1 seed on east and west if you want to look for the best player in the best team. And what is even the limit for the MVP reward if the team rankings are also something you have to take in consideration. Does the player's team need to be among first three in rankings? Maybe we should say ok, we have 65 games rule that player needs to play to be in conversation and his team get to the playoff for the minimum requirement. This year teams are so close on west and east. MAVS can be 10th or 5th in the end of the season or even higher or lower.

      I guess being the Most Valuable Player in the Association should lead to a top seed. Stats matter but the game is played to win

    • @LeeeWai
      @LeeeWai 11 місяців тому

      @@mouchigo Yes, but for that we have other things and awards. The ultimate is championship in the end of playoff, during the season the goal is to come to the playoff and be as good as possible on the east and west conference, but this is team effort, it's about how good the team is, not one guy. MVP is not it. That is why we have awards like this, to acknowledge the single players too, most improve player, best rookie, best defensive player, MVP, All stars tournament... It's tradition and it goes in history. We remember these awesome players who are truly special, who break records and push the game to another level.

    Luka is having a historic season, the likes of which no one has had before at the age of 25. The Mavericks are third in the league with the most injuries this season, three players didn't play between 22 and 25 games each, at one point even five of the most important teammates for the team were injured, but Luka still held the connection to the top 7 in the west, so if there were no injuries, they would now be among the top 2 or 3 in the west. Luka is setting record after record this season and it's not true that SGA can even compare to what Luka is doing, if the Mavericks finish the season like 5th or 6th in the west, then Luka should be the MVP this season.

    I believe this is Luka's best season by far. This is also the best squad around Luka. Luka has greatly improves his catch and shoot, and 3 point shooting in general. I believe the injury problem of the Mavs in the first half of the season, and J-Kidd being determined to run "5-out" offense did lose the Mavs around 10 games this season. He is not going to win MVP unless the Mavs when undefeated. Hopefully they can avoid the play in because I want to see a great playoffs series with Luka and Kyrie.
