You NEVER brush the blades on the outside!. NEVER. The brush bristles could get caught in the foil holes. And trying to pull them out could easily tear the foil!. They are THAT thin.

I think they are better than the v10 style and up. I'm seeing many issues with the V10 and higher models with the exception of the V11 absolute. For a general picker upper, this model is a better option of the new/old design without the unnecessary other bells and whistles such as the screen. These are more serviceable than the newer ones and easier to maintain. Great video

One more thing. Be careful when buying because the prices are ridiculously over the top but can be bought for at least half recommended retail, sometimes better which can include extras like a cleaning station. The Philips cleaner is very compact and only takes a minute to do. Definitely worth it.

I have both although a 7000 Philips as the top model nicked me due to its different cutting process. I like both and for me the investment is worth it.

Note: Not supposed to use the cleaning brush on the foils. The bristles will snag and bend the perforations.

My dad had those in the 1950s growing up as a kid and he got a very chiseled chest from using this I definitely recommend this.
