There's always something magnificent of watching a bull oversee his herd. How they move away and show him the respect his age and strength have earned him. For me an elks call is on of the most majestic and awe inspiring. Sometimes it almost seems a shame to sacrifice such a majestic beast, but for me as long as you honor the kill and show it the respect it deserves, this is the true nature of a hunter. To bestow dignity and to truly revel in natures power and majesty. I always tell myself that out in the woods I am no longer top of the food chain, I am simply a part of it, the true rulers of this realm are the bears, cougars, and now the wolves that call the forests of Oregon home. This is my birth state and no matter where I go a piece of me shall always yearn for the mighty evergreen forests of this place. I congratulate you on your successful hunt.

I'd like to know more about the rife, the cartridge, including make, powder, brass (I hope you picked it up for reloading), projectile, and how far the shot was. From the camera work, it looked like it was about 35 to 50 yards. And what about shot placement. What brought her down so well with a .243? I'll be on a Utah Antlerless Hunt later this summer, and I'm excited. We need the meat. Speaking of, how much do you think you got from that nice cow? Thank you for posting your video.
