Oops, I'm sorry. I thought this was a walking tour through an abandoned site. But Now I see that it is a community. It looks nice. I mean once I saw the rain barrels and realized what this place was - that's when I realized how nice it was. :)

Sad to see so many abandoned places in america. It's like, city centers have money and everywhere else is poverty. That's how a third world country is.

Making a second comment here because your daughter is obviously healthy, happy and well fed. I loved seeing her eating spaghetti. Children look so funny and cute eating spaghetti. She obviously loves her grandparents. You're both great parents. I don't even want to try to imagine what comments you got that made you have to turn off comments. It's too bad that those are the kinda people who finds videos first. Haters gotta hate, I guess.

Your family has such adventures! I loved the video of your daughter singing to the desert! It's sad that there are so many morons out there that you felt you needed to turn off the comments. You do what you need to do. But I loved it!

Love your videos and would like to see more of them. Your husband would do well as a police officer.. Christianity is based on the law. Christian life is based on discipline and self-control and things being done in an orderly manner. Thumbs upped and subbed. Beautiful family.

Looks like a beautiful place. I grew up communal. I was in a children’s home. Everyone had to do their part for it to work.

Thanks for sharing this tour, very helpful. I was just looking into ecocommunities in the Asheville area as I really had a good vibe when I visited there a few years ago and Im looking for a place that I can share my skills in horticulture, farming, construction, etc. to help people but also looking to start a different version of my business which I repair and restore clocks, but I want to build custom clocks from scratch instead of repairing antiques. So Im looking for a inexpensive studio/workshop space plus a simple place to live.

There is something of a studio/workshop in progress at Earthaven, possibly with plans as a cooperative space. I don't know much about the details or what's happening with it now. After visiting several communities (20 in fact) we moved to Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. Interesting that you mention custom clocks. I'm trying to figure out how to earn some money by making crafty things, and clocks are one of the items i've considered. I have an idea for a fairly unique clock design that i may or may not ever be able to actually build, and it might also be fun to just make custom enclosures for normal clock movements. Have you been making clocks already?

Kevin Banks just Google Earthaven and get in touch with them. You'll need to visit first then learn about the membership process.

It’s a novelty lifestyle where you either have money and you’re the “owner”, or you’re a commoner where you pay rent or worktrade somehow. Work-trade is indentured servitude. It’s a grift. Best you try and explore these communities before you commit to the lifestyle. Capitalism sucks, but communism under the direction of capitalism is hell.
