Great Interview, Omar is one of the best SS who every played the game! A great leader and teammate in his actives years, He definitely deserves a second chance! to continue working with Baseball and MLB! Good luck!
Well stated!
Bret, The Yankees won only one game, it was against the LOWER TIER OF THE DODGERS BULLPEN. Because Dave used their upper upper tier the day before plus saved them for game 5
World? Get over yourself...
The Yankees were not projected to even win the division this year. It’s pretty funny how the expectations moved during the season
CC GOAT, Judge ,unfortunately LeBron
You need to have Bob back on and talk more baseball. He was a pitcher in HS and JC.
AP is not our guy
Can the friars win it all? Sure, maybe next year.
Nice!
As many have said, Had Bart Giamatti lived I honestly think he would have brought Pete Rose back to the game. If you listen to the speech when he announced Pete's banishment from the game, you could tell that he had the attitude of "I really don't want to do this but as the Commissioner I have to do it" Being from Ohio I celebrated all the good times from watching Pete Rose and also suffer the sadness of this event.
Thanks for all the smart personal commentary!
Padres are the most dangerous team in the playoffs to challenge the Dodgers’ chances. Yankees would be next, followed by the Phillies.
Padre fans think Arraez is the Goat. Would a Goat hide on the bench with his batting title on the line? No, he would be in the batter’s box taking his swings and competing to earn his title. No excuses Padre Fan. If he is healthy enough to take the field in a few days for game 1, he is fit to play last two games of the season. Resting him is an excuse. He is no Goat. He is a Cat. The kind of cat Tweety bird thought he saw. A PUSSY cat.
Japan and Korea pause their baseball seasons for the Olympics
They forgot the NHL pauses its season to do the Winter Olympics.
*Ha. You guys are not Padre fans.* Us fans know that Kim is better at SS because we always watch them play. THAT is why X moved to 2nd. Mike & co also know it. X knows it. Cron knows it and so he was cool moving to 1st so that X could play 2nd. The Padres players are ONE cohesive unit trying to win a championship and they are leaving their egos at the door. Now that Kim is injured, X can go back to SS BUT, he's made some errors. This shows the truth ok. X is hitting the ball again now which is the biggest pro. Yahoo. Go Padres!
kim is hitting .218 dude stfu. hes probably not even hurt and just getting Preller'd (fake injury to get a weak bat out of the line up)
Go padres
I haven't felt this energy since 1984 !!! Go PADRES !!!!!!
Kim is a streaky undependable hitter. always exhibits negative body language. Bogaerts has earned the time this season and he has won a ws. GIve me Bogie.
3:30.. he definitely does not make all the plays.. Kim is a superior shortstop..
hitting .218 compared to X's 270 but yeah ok
Bogaerts can make all the plays? Must be why the other day when he was playing shortstop, the ball went right between his legs! That was an incredibly easy play to make! And he has made errors, etc.
Every one makes errors. Even kim
@@jackdavidson7853 They spent a fortune on Bogaerts and he is not even playing that well.
When Soto and snall leave they brings happiness to the city of san Diego!!😎👍🍻
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! The Padres have had the easiest post-break schedule in baseball. When it comes to playoff time, they'll fail as they have always failed.
They’ve beaten every contender they’ve faced with the exception of the Phillies
As a dodgers fan of course they can win it all….but are they peeking too early?
As a padre fan, thats my worry... They could keep their fire but the postseason is a curse sometimes
No, They Are Way Too Inconsistent, Underachievers 🤢
How is the team with the best record since the All Star break a dark horse?
Not to mention that the Padres have a rookie SS playing CF.
Bogarts sucks
I disagree with pandering someone's ego as part of a process, that's just a ridiculous statement to make. What? are we in high school now? I'm the coaches son so I have to be the starting pitcher....lmao!! Get out of here with that mentality. Kim is simply a better defender and hitter than Bogaerts, period. These are full grown men getting paid ridiculous money to play a game. They shouldn't be whinnying where they play and they should be going anywhere the coach tells them to play if it benefits the team. Period!
Exactly Mark. These guys are whacked and I'm not watching this channel again.
the whole padre roster is basically short stops. Machado, Tatis, Bogaets, Merrill, Cronenworth also played SS. Kim.
Profar and Wade also played SS.
@@oppenheim2 very true even Mason Mccoy is a short stop lol. AJ Preller is a menace.
Just speed, agility and gems EVERYWHERE!!!!
And has this strategy hurt them? Or has it made their defense among the best in baseball? 😂 Padres outfield over Yankees outfield.
Padres same like Dodgers, very hard in regular season but not in postseason
Last time they were in the postseason, they knocked out the Mets and the Dodgers.
but this time the dodgers have a horrible bullpen
You won’t find many Padre fans that would pick Bogaerts over Kim at SS right now
True, but Bogey is still solid at Short, expect for those late errors that sold the CG for Cease.
Im one of the few.
Padres fan here......and yes we'd pick X over Kim. Kim wasn't good at the plate before his injury, and he also was having a subpar season on defense. X has been hitting well over .300 since coming back from a broken shoulder.
@@rickbase833 He’s hitting for decent average, but has 0 power and is a GIDP machine. Kim’s OPS+ is still 7 points higher despite Bogaerts’ decent second half, and even in a down year Kim’s glove is waaaaay better.
@GorillaRadio88 As a Padres fan I know this but he's hitting and I'm not worried about his power. We got plenty others on this team that produce.
Padres fan here….i believe they will make it to the playoffs…these next games against the dodgers and diamondbacks are crucial though….or else they won’t make it far….that is why they need to start winning series….especially this one coming up against the white Sox….which is at Petco…they can’t lose against that team….they have the worst record in MLB history…but you know what they say anything can happen…it’s baseball….so yea….still hopeful….lets go padres!!!!!!
Padres are a “dark horse” lol Brother no one is scared of this team Also their BP is sus recently lmao stop it
You have great coping skills.
@@Inkironnrum and you’re delusional just like him
You say whatever because we all know the history of the Dodgers in the playoffs it's not an 81 game season and never will be again and the Dodgers will never win the world series unless they get another chance at 81 games we all know that You are cursed LA dodger baseball is cursed in the story it'll never happen never ever ever
@@Inkironnrum and you’re delusional just like him
@@aicofrena505 dodgers are cursed?? The Padres have never won EVER lol tell me again whose really cursed baby 😂
Talk about selling Kim short and talking up Bogaerts who has a .670 OPS and plays a bad SS.
I dont like being the "pick" to win it all, it feels like a jinx.. better be the dark horse/underdog
Hot take, but maybe Peralta stay in rightfield, continuing when the Padres became the best team in baseball after the trade deadline. According to your ego argument; have Ferando (the most athletic player in the league) play shortstop. Bogarts stay at second where he has acclimated just fine. CroneZone play first and the Sprinkler DH. This lineup would be unstoppable. DH Arraez SS Tatis CF Meril 3B Machado LF Profar 2B Bogarts 1B Cronenworth RF Peralta C Higashioka
No they cannot
It ain't gonna be the Dodgers with how Ass their pitching is.
The Dodgers don't even need the pitching I mean look it they just scored 14 runs today they keep scoring eight to nine runs a game lately and their pictures can give up five six runs they're still going to win it sucks I hate them but it is what it is
@@aicofrena505 Yeah, against thr fucking Marlins, homie.
@@Fujiwaramoguumy dodger pitching is sus as hell…
@@aicofrena505but compare the budget this year who was the smart and final!!🤣🤣🤣😎👍🍻
Seems like 9 individuals out there in a lot of “teams” out there .
Damn, found something i didnt even know i was looking for. Bret Boone and Albert Belle, two legends. I grew up a Marines fan. Loved watching Boone and that 01 team. Hope this podcast takes off and will be listening regularly now
Absolutely! Great advice from Dmitri!!
Great interview. Mendoza is doing a great job. Really good to see Mendoza giving JD his flowers. I truly think JD is what makes this team click.
Glad to see a visual component to the podcast. Long time fan
Best statistics by far of any non-steroid player that is not in the HOF. Belle is the living proof of the absolute joke the MLB HOF truly is.
Thanks, Bret, and Albert - one of my absolute favorite players of all time!!
