This half wine barrel planter turned table is inspired by the yakisugi/shou sugi ban method of preserving wood but with my own twist. What a difference it made to the space on my porch. I have very recently found that you should seal it. Mine has been on my covered porch which sometimes still gets wet and though it took a while it did bow a little bit. I didn't do the bottom which might be the cause.
