Richard Fourie is overrated, rides for the most powerful stables wherever he goes, and therefore has the absolute best horses to choose from. Obviously, with all the advantages he’s blessed with, he’s done well to break Anthony Delpech’s record. However if one goes back to when Delpech set the record, horseracing was significantly more competitive, in terms of the depth of talented jockeys, and so many high class trainers. Also Richard spent some time in Hong Kong and yet did not achieve any real success, whereas Delpech, Anton Marcus, Douglas Whyte were highly successful in that part of the world, and more recently Karis Teetan, Lyle Hewitson and Luke Ferraris are doing great. The fact that Richard came back to SA indicates that his ability to progress in a far more challenging environment such as Hong Kong is questionable. You only really improve your reputation as a top jockey, if you can succeed on the international stage. The most notable example of this is Michael “Muis” Roberts, who won a record number of SA Jockeys Championships, and then went to the UK and won their championship beating probably the greatest group of jockeys in history (Lester Piggott, Willie Carson, Pat Eddery, Joe Mercer, Greville Starkey and Steve Cauthen). Richard is definitely NOT in the same category as the above, and will never be recognised accordingly, until he proves his skills overseas.

What a useless and time wasting exercise, they don’t really know how to advise the most important people, the punters! It’s also incredible to believe that Vicky used to be a jockey!!! Her weight has snowballed!!!

I agree with you and know exactly how good one stripe is snd i am a huge fan of Marshall stable,and i hope i am wrong ,but my ratings tell me that he is going to battle today against 3 older horses,and thank you for the banter❤

Snow pilot has improved at least 4 lenghs since he defeated One stripe in Pinnacle stakes,and there might be more improvement to come,don't think one stripe can beat oriental charm,see it again and snow pilot

Most underrated jockey in SA. He needed better support years ago. The same old sad stories that only certain jockeys are picked and liked to be on the right horses to suit trainers and their unfair concepts. Its the same old story year in and year out. 😅🎉
