The food is definitely not what First Class should be like. Starters: look like they have been plated already on the ground, the Carpaccio has too much cheese. Mains are boring. The beef plate looks horrible: too much stuff on the plate, the sauce is all over the place. I cannot tell without smelling/tasting, but the vegetables look overcooked (OK, this is Britain, they like to make sure there is no taste or vitamins left in vegetables). Desserts are EXTREMELY boring. Fruit salad, ice cream and a chocolate thing? Insulting. The menu in Business Class on Air France is more interesting (although presentation sometimes leaves to be desired as well), and so is it on Alitalia. I haven't flown BA First in a few years, had underwhelming memories about the food (and the ground experience at LHR), but will have two flights in the next 10 days, so I came here to see whether things have changed for the better since I last flew them. Apparently not. Pity.

Lovely flight review. The Upper Deck of the A380 provides more storage space, which is nice. I think you could have higher expectation for the food because you're in business class, like the overcooked egg.

The window seats have more room, and storage. If you don't mind sitting backwards! Safe travels!!!

You should learn how to fast. It's for sure healthier than airplane food. Snacking is bad for your body. Try it, you'll complain much less during next flight I guarantee you.

Would be a great business class product... this was not First class standard. If I were you, I'd have felt very disappointed to be downgraded from an A380 to a B777-200. Liked and subscribed

Most of the fancier restaurants a reservation is a must. Sometimes the front desk at your hotel can help you secure a spot. Some you can't get a spot without knowing a local or familiar face to that establishment.

I’m not sure what you mean by it being half price going through Singapore to go to Japan? Does that mean you have to fly first and change in Tokyo and not stay in Tokyo and then go to Singapore but get to stay in Tokyo on the way back or what? Glad I chanced upon your video. I normally fly the Manila-Doha-Madrid route and just recently booked a flight with Qatar Airways and there was an option to take an Iberia flight (on the Doha-Madrid segment) since they are partners. I'm glad I still took the Qatar flight. That is a no no running out of meal options on their eat anytime food. In comparison with Qatar, the meal services are elaborate and the meal portions are generous. You can eat anytime you want...on demand. Not having bread? Qatar Airways on the other hand will bring you an assortment basket of (hot) breads to choose from. Doha to Madrid is around 6 hours and they serve two full meals. Although I think you had a good flight except for the lack of food, my experience with Qatar is far more superior. Your video is so nice and elegantly done. Hope you can try Qatar Airways someday.

Unfortunately, you went to the lower quality Maharba lounge (The paper JAL gives you with directions is a trick!). Take note that with a Japan Airlines business class ticket, you're also able to use the Qatar Airways, British Airways, Qantas and Cathay Pacific Business class lounges, which are much much better!

Flew the A350 yesterday from MAD to JFK, had the identical same menu as you except I had the ice cream which was just a tiny scoop, that eclair looks damn good, I also got a bit carried away with the Cava :), and yeah the Iberico ham lunch was very under welming.
