Yes, starfish can flip themselves back when they are upside down. They have a unique ability to use their tube feet to right themselves. When a starfish is flipped over, its tube feet, which are located on the underside of its body, help it regain its proper position. This process is part of their natural behavior and helps them avoid being trapped in unfavorable positions, ensuring they can continue their normal activities like feeding and moving.
