All bass mods are made in china? I have here a deal when the guy telling me that this one is USA made, is it possible?
To the best of my knowledge Swing Basses make the basses in Korea and sent to California where the QS and PLEK happen.
Bass sounds good
Are they Bartolini deep tones or brights
There is something wrong with the audio. ( unless my stereo just blew a speaker ( I hope not)
That is beautiful!!! You are a great player. And that tone.....Wow. Recently I bought a Sire V7 Vintage for the slap sound ,but for finger style the regular V7 with the 60s placement is really great. I may have to get one of those too. LOL
Great playing and awesome bass tone. Which Bass Mods model with those Pickups do you have? Thanks 🙏🏼
That's beautiful brother. I love how you always think melodically!
Thanks very much appreciated, there is a great bassist who thought me a few things many years ago, his name is Rael Westley Grant, I'll will get you his connection info, he is truly a beast on bass, Its all about have a good melodic lyrical vocabulary and imaginative concepts, .most of it comes from listening to pianist guitarist violinist and various types of melody instrument, it give you a wide spectrum of ideas and concepts.
Very cool, as always.
Thanks very much appreciated
Your videos are great 👍🏻 keep it up
Thanks! very much appreciated,
Hey Lenn how do you approach learning melodies? Your Bass playing seems like you think more like a horn player! I think that's cool
Happy New Year to you, thanks very much appreciated, my concept on playing melodic lyrical melodies, is to listen to various styles of music and singers, and horn and piano players, it gives my bass playing a wider spectrum of the music, I'll do vid to explain how I approach melodies on the bass,
Thanks a lot brother I would really appreciate it
That fretless sounds great brother
Thanks very much appreciated, it's a cheap fretless fender jazz bass, I bought on eBay a few years ago, it has a Japanese Alder body and a Mexican fretless neck, the pickups are generic stock fender jazz bass pickups, it's all passive no preamp, I'm also using a 1989 Hartke 350 amp and and a Hartke 4.5XL cab with a tweeter, for the high end and harmonics.
On Good Morning Heartache, I use the 96% of the bridge pickup and 4% of the neck pickup, it give me a big full tone when playing melodic melodies, the vintage 1989 Hartke amp has 4 ten inch speakers, in my opinion it give you a big huge tone when playing melodies and harmonics,, on this bass I'm using fender string 45- 100 gauge.
Good!!!
Thanks very much appreciated
🔥🔥 awesome groove, very catchy, would love to hear a whole song of it
Thanks! Very much appreciated
Thanks very much appreciated
You are cool, man! Ты крут, чувак!
nice!!
Do you still have the 6 string bass mod?
Yes I do have the Bass Mods K6, I'm getting some work done on the preamp, so that's why I've not played it on any videos, as soon as the work is completed I'll post a few videos.
@@lennmendoza5130 please do I'm interested to see how the high C string behaves
Beautiful Playing Ihave A Question are those Flatwound strings on your Fender jazz bass? That Jazz Sound Awesome 👍
Darrel thanks very very much for your kind comment, actually I'm using fender woundround bass strings, gauges 40 -100 I'm also using a very old 1989 Hartke 410 4.5XL cab and a vintage Hartke 350 bass amp, this was recorded at my church, my string setup is a little high on the FRETBOARD so it gives the bass a huge big fat tone, I'll do a Bass review on my fretless jazz bass soon, thanks very much appreciated
Beautiful Playing and Well Executed My Friend I Got too Learn this on Fretless Bravo👍
Very slick. It's such a cool riff too. Both Luther and Marcus smiling.......
Thanks very very much for kind comments, very much appreciated
That was an extremely short clip but from what I can make out it was Barry White! Right?
Barry White never gonna give you up, it was recorded in a friend of mine BBQ backyard jam session, sorry for the short video,
Len good job bro the technique is flawless!
Thanks, very much appreciated, I love playing melodies on bass, it's a good way of training your ear to hear various intervals, and it's also helps the player understand the chord progression, however though I'm still not satisfied with the outcome, but I just have to keep working on my playing to improve it, the journey to becoming a good musician is a endless one.
I have same bass👍
Can listen to you play all night
Sweet riff, sweet J Bass, cool and mysterious room - Thanks!
Thanks, very much appreciated
Looks like a church.
What kind of room are you playing in? Or is that a reverb pedal? Either way, sounds sweet! Thanks for sharing!
This video was recorded at my church, I'm not using any pedals. On my bass, it's all passive, the church has very high ceilings, the amp I'm using is a 1989 Hartke 350 head and a hartke 4.5XL cab, it has a really nice tone.
Nice had to learn it 😁
Thanks very much appreciated
What model bartolini pickups
I think I speak for many when I say you should do videos to break down the groove and explain exactly what you're doing! We would really appreciate it
That's cool man you got the six string up and running again last time we text you said it was having some electrical issues? It seems to be working fine
I'm still working on twerking the tone just a little more, this bass mods K6 uses Aguilar pickups and preamp, the setup is a little differ from 5 string, as soon as work out a few tone issues I'll post a few more vids.
to MrTruetwin: He sounds great! I like cool bass grooves.
Hey, I only was going to say that i really liked your content, congratulations! I have subscribed to your C h a n n e l 😉 Maybe, You can do the same and we will become "real" UA-cam friends
I appreciate the video yes
Thanks! Very much appreciated
to Basszillajay: This guy sounds great on bass. He makes the bass sing!
Really nice! Amazing tone, what amp do you use?
Thanks! very much appreciated, on this vid I'm using a vintage 1989 Hartke 7000 amp and a Hartke 4.5XL cab, it's 29 years old, but I like the sound, I'm also using D'Addario XL medium gauge strings 128 -45.

Nice 👍🔥
Thanks very much appreciated
to ESCOInstrumentals: This is very “nice.” This is what I like to hear. Smooth bass grooves with a little flavor.
Always have a nice tone
Thanks very much appreciated
to Bradley Parker: You're right. The tone is very nice!
Hey man I want to hear that bass mod 6 string do you still have it?
Yes! The reason I haven't used it on most of videos, it has a preamp Issues, the preamp.needs to be re-wired, however though it's a great bass, with many festures.
@@lennmendoza5130 I have a Carvin fretless 5-string that I would like to donate to you it is a really awesome Bass and you are a good player and I don't play fretless!
@@MuammarHamed you also email me at lenn1222@yahoo.com, I'm a huge Jazz Bass fan, my first bass was a fender P Bass, but after I heard Larry Graham and Marcus Miller play bass I switch to the JAZZ bass, I'm planning to buy one more bass mods JAZZ bass.
to MrTruetwin: Everybody likes Bass Mod. They're taking over the bass market. This guy sounds great on the Bass Mod.
@@stefanrobert5233 I recently purchased a bass mod jazz bass oh my God they're amazing
Very NICE,
Thanks very much appreciated
to Hijau Muda: This is “very nice.” He plays beautiful melodies on the bass. He doesn't just do grooves.
That sounds like (what goes up) by Frankie Beverly and Maze?
That's truly correct, great song by Frankie Beverly
@@lennmendoza5130 wow that's a really nice 6-string when did you get it? In some of your previous videos I noticed you playing a 5-string bass mod
@@MuammarHamed I recently bought this Bass Mods K6 a few months ago, a local guitar store was going out of business, it has a few issues with the Aguilar op3 preamp, it's not wired correctly, I haven't been using it, but I'm going to have it set up correctly.
@@lennmendoza5130 not sure if you're familiar with the company but I have a Carvin 6 string bass I love the high C String it's excellent for playing melodies! That Bass mod k-6 is a beautiful bass hope you're able to get it all dialed in correctly! who knows you might make it your main go to bass!
@@MuammarHamed thanks, I'm also working on buying another used bass mods k534 , as a back up bass, I like there quality and craftsmanship.
✨ Merry Christmas 🤴🏻🤴🏼🤴🏽
to Gotta Love Piano: Merry Christmas to you too. And thank you for saying “Merry Christmas” not “happy holidays.”
I'm so trying to get the content on my channel to a certain level, but good stuff though!
Thanks very much appreciated, on your comment
Len whats up brother! I spoke to you about a year ago I'm from San Diego That fretless sounds amazing!
Thanks very much appreciated, the fender jazz bass I'm playing is a cheap japanese fretless jazz bass, I bought a few years ago, it's all passive, with a Alder tone wood body, I'm using a Hartke vintage 7000 Amp with a Hartke 4.5XL cab.
@@lennmendoza5130 It sounds great brother! Sometimes inexpensive instruments sound just as good as the high dollar stuff! I like your playing style you think like a horn player! Lots of bass players never touch the melody to anything they stick strictly to the bass line! Which is cool! I tried to learn the melody first it helps me better understand the bass line! And what is actually happening in the song! Try to post some instructional videos of what you're doing exactly it would be beneficial to a lot of bass players you don't have to be technically sound with all of the musical verbage for people to understand!
@@MuammarHamed thanks, a million, I'm working on buying some better video software applications to improve my videos.
@@MuammarHamed thanks, I'll work on a few instructional video that will breakdown my approach to melodies over chord changes, most of my comes from listening to various styles of music, I try not to base my concept on just bass players, I listen to piano players and various instruments, it gives the player a wider spectrum of the music.
Hi, I just wanted to give you a few more info on the Bass Mods bass, you also check Bass Mods online store, and also reverb.com online store, Bass Mods will be doing a Novermber & Christmas sale, so can email Robert Lemas @ Bass Mods and he will give you a list of what he has in stock at the California store, I suggest buy a bass with a maple Finger Board, and a ash body tone wood body, ash give you a really nice tonal spectrum of a varieties of tones, and it also durable for all weather is. Get one with either bartolini jazz pickups and preamp.
turbo good bass guitar
😲👍👍👍
Thanks, very much appreciated
niceee Lenn
Thanks, very much appreciated
Nice job Len! That fender fretless sounds really good brother!
Thanks, very much appreciated, it's a cheap japanese fretless jazz bass body, with a mexican jazz bass neck, the body is alder, it's all passive no preamp, stock fender pickups, and I'm using fender medium gauge strings, I'm also using a vintage Hartke 7000 amp and Hartke 4.5XL cab
Good tone
Thanks, very much appreciated,
Thanks, for your comment,
That's love Zone Billy Ocean you should do a slow down video on how to play this line!
Lol this is a joke. First of all if you change the mid frequency but don’t adjust the top knob it doesn’t effect anything at all. The top knob boost or cuts that frequency so leaving it in the middle means it’s flat. So all u did was boost your treble. Secondly... your amp settings are completely scooped. That’s where the scooped tone is coming from because the midrange on the actual bass is set to flat. You might as well put it in passive mode and go crazy cuz it’ll sound the same
And that's not a jaco sound. No where close. Jaco plays fretless😭
Jaco also played a fretted bass....on the exact song he was playing....sires are the best basses out...not for the money ...they compare to American fender
Thanks,
