Great points. Not sure the issue is American vs. French comedy though. In the case of Dinner For Scmucks it's a remake for a broad audience...hard to avoid that being terrible.

Is this another version of Ruyi's Royal Love In The Palace that stared Zhou Xun that was such a huge Mega hit? It will be interesting to watch. Fan Bingbing is lovely but I admit I am somewhat predjuiced to liking Zhou Xun better.
