God bless him but let's face it, Nobody would know who the hell he is if he hadn't be come acquainted with Jim Morrison. It Really kills me that this Very average drummer who Never wrote a song continues to bad mouth his meal ticket!!!
Much too short.. This was delightful..😊
A friend once told me he seen 'the doors' play at Ratcliff stadium in Fresno CA. I wasn't born until 60s grew up during eighties('the doors' are before my time) but I didnt think 'the door's' played Fresrag. Although 'the doors' did play Bakersfield?. There is film from Bakersfield motel, with doors' (Morrison) sitting around hotel room from 68 or 69? Filmed by young 17 year old Harrison Ford. The actor. I never found out if 'the doors' played Fresrag' ratcliff stadium. It's unknown. My friend said he saw (the doors, without Jim morrison). Early 70s. Watching this video it makes sense the doors continued without Morrison, probably short time. Robbie Krieger looks happy playing alongside another guitarist. But this version of 'the doors'music is lacking expression, no impact. The doors' might of gained new audiance if they went into heavy darker with Kriegers signature distortion.(I could be wrong, but the only time Robbie Krieger used distortion is live shows, using it occasional. That's the sound ' the doors' could've blasted us with. Instead 'the doors' sound mediocre, without Morrison typical. (The doors are good musically) The bands from the 60s were done, finished with psychedelic. In early 70s Slide guitar, Country, southern rock, hard drug addictions, burned out image. Shit face was in style. . Eric clapton (lay down Sally). The Johnny cash show (everyone is high, but people today wont see difference, because dope back then was much better and CLEANER. So people who were high back then act civilized, Instead of weird and stupid. Maybe I'm wrong , and the people were right from the beginning? I thought it was the opposite. To me it was always The doors' (as musicians) ,who made Jim morrison?
Should have been put out as a single.
Robbie is a master
He is totally awesome
tengo tiempoo
Love this song....Alex kills it!
Bella canzone bella voce
You are different Johnny 😎
Carry me caravan take me away
larzevego: thanks for posting. Nice song. Cheers!
Any idea if this was the guitar player on LA Woman? It sure looks like him. Anyone?
BS music w/o Jim.
Guitar hero
I cam easily hear Jim Morrisons voice singing this song. Listen again and this time with the larger ,dynamic, tenor like voice on vocals....and slightly slower tempo.
Which year did he perform this? '75?
Underestimated drummer .
Absolutely right He is awesome
super!
zzzzzzz
Sorry John no funny no Yuo God.
solo?
BRILLIANT !!
What I find so interesting is that compared to the "heavy" & "metal" groups of today, where drummers routinely play live with 10 piece drum sets, double bass drums ... ... where they're literally surrounded in drums & high hats and cymbals, as the drummer for The Doors, considered by many to be the first progenitors in one of the most "hard rock" groups in history, Densmore played a comparatively SMALL drum set by today's standards.
Vero
Who would not like this?
Io c ero!!!
I can play this- in my dreams!

RIP RAY and JIM MORRISON
No sería mejor (THE END) ????
Why are they laughing?
not too bad but I would say overproduced/ sounds like Robby is playing a Strat here. I remember a photo of this incarnation of the band and Robby was playing a Strat. does not sound like an SG to me. anyway, for what it's worth.
@Jameson Serono Overproduced means to much gravy and not enough meat, some songs sound better more raw, natural, without all the EQ and mixing to the nth degree, or reverb and other such effects. For example, listen to the first Buuts Band album, different people except Krieger and Densmore, much better record, sounds like the band not the studio or some producer trying to please record company suits. LA Woman was a raw album, Doors best record IMO. BTW, didn't say "wrong", but overproduced. Sometimes demos sound better than released version. Springsteen's "Nebraska" was just demos until he realized they sounded better that way. sometimes that fits, sometimes not. Wouldn't you agree that today's music with the sampling, computers, software, overbubbing, months to record a single and slicker than anything is rather sickening? Well, that's the way I feel. Listen to Dylan's Freewheelin' album. voice, guitar, harp, and probably best songs ever written. today it would have synths, wailing divs, blasting drum machines, stuff like that. anyway, that what I think.
wow, what a fucking douchebag.
Rip jim Morrison
Rip Ray manzarek
On this day in 1974 {March 15th} The Butts Band performed "Love Your Brother" & "Kansas City" on the NBC-TV late-night program, 'The Midnight Special'... Both songs were from the band's 1974 album, 'Butts Band', "Love Your Brother" was composed by band member and ex-Doors' guitarist Robby Krieger, while "Kansas City"* was co-composed by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller... * And from the 'For What It's Worth' department; fifteen years earlier on May 18th, 1959 Wilbert Harrison's version of "Kansas City" peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Top 100 chart and it spent sixteen weeks on the Top 100... In addition; the week Mr. Harrison's version peaked at #1, there were two other versions of the song on the Top 100 at the time, by Rocky Olson {at #75} and Hank Ballard and the Midnighters {at #76}, while Little Richard had a completely different .song titled "Kansas City" at #95...
in 4 or 5 weeks, the Midnight special UA-cam will play the episode where the Butts band were there ....
Ray Manzarek you were the greatest keyboard player of all-time. I've always enjoyed both the organ & piano renditions of this song. It happens to be a very poetic love song. Great job in playing because you knocked it out of the ball park.
is that an angel?
