I grew up with Kevin in Oak Lawn Illinois
Is that the dude from Starcastle?
Yes
Where's Alan Gratzer? It's his birthday and he didn't show up? And Gary loved Alan ....
Playing uncle Ted's hit...good job..but not quite as great...
Uncle Ted sucks! He plays it better and he can sing! Teddy's too busy being a politician now!
@@edcollins9377 tell me you're a flaming libtard, Kamella butt nugget without mentioning you're a total idiot too..

@@RonaldWeathers-l3g Uncle Ted shit in his pants to avoid serving our country. Trumpov had bone spurs and Biden had asthma. Which of the three is the most disgusting? "sense you wanna make a political statement" The word wanted to use, you illiterate maggot, is "since." And Nugent still sucks.
Bruce Hall still has the greatest hair in Rock-N-Roll!!
Gary would be 76
That’s awesome
The keyboard player if I'm correct is the only original member left.
100% correct
I think the bass player has been in the band since the early days.
Cronin has been with the band since 1972. He left for a couple years and came back in 76. Bruce has been in the band since 77-78. So they are still classic era members. Kevin sang all of the hits.
@@writer62951No.
@@colinmajewski705he said O-R-I-G-I-N-A-L... ,hence origin, so yes, Neal was the only ORIGINAL member left!
Amazing performance!
Freaking AMAZING show 🤘🤘
Mos eisley cantina ayyyy
AWESOME!
watching for some bonehead comment about REO not being REO, because Gary and now Neal aren't with them.
Is Neal bald?
No need to say it,..everybody already knows....file next to Yes,Riot,Blackfoot,Molly. Hatchet ,,Quiet Riot and Skynyrd,of NO original member bands...
They’re not REO when they leave out half their hits in concert! In Your Letter, Keep the Fire Burning, One Lonely Night….. all missing!!!!! Why even go?
This is a tribute band if only 1 or zero original members are left. I'll bet Gary's family still gets royalties.
Don't forget to add "foreigner" er, I mean "FAUXreigner"........LOL@@chriswoosley1697
That WAS GREAT.👍👀
This was at the Virginia theater in Champaign IL. I was there. Great night of music!! Original singer, Gary’s son, Bruce Hall’s daughter opened up with her blues band. It was a crazy 2.5 hr show and an amazing experience!!
The original REO singer? What was the occasion?
Great Kid. That was Awesome ❤
Look at that BIG GARY SMILE ERIC HAS.!!## HE IS HIS FATHERS SON. 📀🎼🎸🎸need that curley hair.😄😘he does the armflip thing to like his dad.😏
You’re right about that smile; Gary’s smile could light up a room! He’s probably looking down at his son, proud as punch, and smiling! RIP sweet Gary ❤😢
son sounds pretty good
No mention of original singer Terry Lutrell making appearance on 157 Riverside Ave??
The 🍎 didn't fall far from the tree
About the only classy, respectful, decent thing Cronin has done regarding Gary......jerk. Gary one of a kind sound.
look up 2013 video of REO reunion with Gary.
Kevin has repeatedly, and continues to credit Gary for REOs success. There is a video where he flat out says “we wouldn’t be here without Gary’s talent”. How is he a jerk? Gary was an (admittedly) raging alcoholic. Kevin said publicly time and again that they would love to get him back in if he could overcome his addictions. He couldn’t and it killed him. How does that make Kevin a jerk? I don’t think you have any idea what you are talking about @shawn ray
@@someoneelse6934 no sure how the sweet talking "dude" boots an original member.. How many bands have paid for a members rehab? Kevin was a hostile takeover.
Gary left on his own due to the direction Cronin was taking the band. Cronin til this day is taking credit for “Time for me to fly” when it was actually Gary who finalized the song to make it a hit. Face it, REO was done when Gary left! Regardless of alcohol or not the man was the True Star of REO 🎸
@stephsjamn yeah.....Kevin kind of pulled a hostile takeover like Steve Perry and Dennis DeYoung did/attempted. Funny thing is....Styx got better with Lawrence Gowan. Instead of realizing that the songwriting was of tandem magic and not a solo effort those ego driven singers decided to ruin bands.....
REO Speedwagon is not REO Speedwagon without Kevin Cronin!!
REO Speedwagon is not REO Speedwagon without Gary Richrath. No hits since he left the band. RIP Gary.
REO died after Alan and Gary's departures. That's just fact. Their albums from 1990 onward are commercial duds, and just plainly, Kronin Krap!
Sounding so great here. Kevin is a solid performer and the band is rocking. Now if I could get them to come play at my house at 157 Riverside Avenue.
Gary was the reason I was crazy about REO from the album with Golden Country on it . I was 12 or 13 RIP GR
Kevin grew up into my grandma.looks just like her!!!!Gary was the only reason we ever went to a reo concert 1985 and back.when Gary left so did we.
How cool. What a thrill for Eric and what a thrill for REO fans! However, Kevin's Illinois shirt needs replaced with an Iowa Hawkeye shirt ;)
I knew Eric's mom Barb Budd and remember him as a little kid!
Eric Richrath has his dad’s eyes, there is no mistake. And a bonus to have Terry Luttrell joining the band for 157…. Must have been a special moment for Neal who was in the band with Terry.
Must of been hard for Eric to play it this slow, sounds like they are playing it backwards. Lol
*must have
He moves like Elaine Benes on Seinfeld..LIKE A FULL DRY BODY HEAVE SET TO MUSIC....SWEET FANCY MOSES
That's just mean right there. Funny yes. But mean.
@@scottashby6745 Not even funny.

Man I hope Eric gets as good as his dad with the guitar. Gary could make sounds on his Les Paul that I never heard before. For example, listen to the two solos on Back On The Road Again. Gary was a wizard, a Les Paul master. His tone, touch and timing are unmatched.
That's because Gary was a lead guitarist
Gary was one of the best an so under rated. I recognize a Richrath lead immediatley! And Garys slides made chills on my spine every time. Yes, Gary Richrath was and will remain one of the very best lead men EVER
@@juliereminiec4937no shit, Sherlock
Tanya. I 100% agree with you. As a HUGE fan of Richrath, please do yourself a favor and check out Scott Gorham's solos with Thin Lizzy. They have a VERY similar tasty playing style and tone. I think you'll be surprised (or maybe you already are familiar with Gorham?( @@tanyacamp7475
Cause nobody plays the guitar like Gary does
Gary had that special connection with the crowd. His guitar playing and attitude made sure of it
Ha... Had so much fun with these guys..

only reason I gave a thumbs up was for the very handsome son of Gary

@@MrSimmies I didn't know the guy that didn't go to either with Eric!
Eric has his dad’s smile. Gary always smiling while taking a Les Paul on the ride of it’s life.
yep Gary always had this dead sexy twinkle in his eye
Gary Ritchwrath was the greatest R& R player ever on a Les Paul.
RICHRATH.... THAT'S R I C H R A T H......SPELL IT CORRECTLY
How bout GARY MOORE???
It don't matter how Anthony spelled it, it's the thought that counts and YES RICHRATH was and will always be the best. The only effect Gary ever used was an occasionally a wah wah pedal, other than that, it was straight Les Paul to Marshall. The 70s was the period of rock n roll where you knew what guitarist you where listening to by their STYLE, so many greats, Richrath, Schon, Shaw, Moore, Nugent, Frehley, I could go on on, my point, 70s classic Rock just kicked F...ING ASS
Kinda strange, kinda unbelievable, kinda heartfelt that songs that Grary wrote, or helped write keep paying the bills and getting attention. And what kind of a circus was that at the beginning with the drummer?
Sorry to say it, but what in the world was this drummer thinking he was doing with those bizarre fills he was trying to squeeze in at the first part of this tune. Weird.
HE WAS TRYING to show off his boom sticks hit stretched leather...........😐
If I were a young band, I would study REO concerts and put together a show of REO music. Then I would get in touch with REO execs for an audition. Give them a kickass show and tell them they want to replace the original and tour as REO Speedwagon. I'm not talking as a tribute band, but as REO Speedwagon. I don't think this has ever been done. REO would still own the rights to their name. The new REO would of course be able to record new music of their own. Then we could enjoy high energy REO concerts for yrs to come! They could keep the current infrastructure in place, road crew, admin, chefs etc..just replace the band members.
Uhhmm, that's disingenuous outright fraud. A new REO can't be cloned. Some guys have tried to do what you say but inevitably crash and burn. REO was a singular creation that took mamy years to tune up. Nobody has that dedication anymore. The age of arena rock bands, except for Journey limping along, is past. Enjoy what we have.
@@danielfronc4304 Michael jahnz is already doing that under the name of Richrath project 3:13...
@@danielfronc4304 That is like Queen now with Adam on lead vocal. Just not the same. Start new bands with your own sound.
Is that a dead mouse hanging from the original singer's beret cap on the right side??!!!? 😯😳 SURE looks like it....
Love that Eric could ham with his Dads former band! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry guys, REO is just not REO without Gary… He had a style all his own that gave a unique energy to their songs… Early REO was a kick-ass band …now… not even close…
I totally agree. No Gary, No R.E.O.!
It might not be the absence of Gary but rather father time that catches up with all of us. Of course the band doesn't have that youthful energy! It isn't the absence of Gary. Gary played his part. Every member has a part to play. The team is everything. REO fans on these sites need to get off the Gary bandwagon..no pun intended. Gary was just one piece of the puzzle. He should have been grateful to have been in this unique band. It's a shame he needed to be top dog. In my life I have come in second many times. My attitude was that there was only one person better than me and they may have had a genetic advantage. I know I outworked everyone else. And that is its own reward.
@@joseftullen6372 It wasn't that Gary wanted to be number one, it was the way it was taken from him. Fact is after Gary left the never even made a top five hit, yet they still play and live off of what he wrote and co-wrote. After all, who do you think put the line-up together that produced those number one through number five hits together in the first place? It was mainly Gary doing the footwork. Even Cronin himself has stated , "without Gary none of us would be where we are today".
@@joseftullen6372 Dave Amato is very good, but his style/sound of lead guitar is different as is true of every guitarist… Gary’s style fit the early REO songs and simply had more energy that the current lineup never could match…
I think youth gives an energy to bands and other artists that age cannot duplicate. Case in point, John Denver. He was on fire in the 70's and couldn't buy a hit later on. It killed him. These guys should be more grateful. I would be good being a one hit wonder.
He looks just like his dad! Very Cool moment!
I can't see any resemblance - at all.
