PAD KEE MAO: Thailand's BOSS LEVEL Hangover Cure Noodles! (Spicy!) 🔥
Craving something spicy, aromatic, savory, and downright crazy tasty? Meet Pad Kee Mao, aka Drunken Noodles - Thailand’s legendary hangover cure and one of my all-time favorite stir-fried noodle dish. Legend has it that this fiery plate of magic was born out of an angry wife’s vengeance, determined to punish her drunk husband. Lucky for us, her rage gave us one of the most epic noodle dishes ever!
Quick, easy, and guaranteed to raise your heart rate (and maybe your core temperature), these noodles are everything you need for post-party recovery...or just a killer dinner. Warning: your cheeks will sweat, your taste buds will cry and you might even hallucinate (in the best way). Be sure to have milk on standby. 🥛
In this video, I’ll show you how to make Pad Kee Mao at home with bold Thai flavors, a heat level that’ll test your limits and a whole lot of wok-tossed goodness. Are you ready to feel alive? Let’s do this. 👩‍🍳🔥

CHOW MEIN & Halloween Fun w/ ASIAN BETTY CROCKER! (Easy Recipe)
Переглядів 36314 днів тому
🎃 For a fun Halloween night of cooking in character, I kept thinking about Betty Crocker, an iconic American brand that introduced me to baking, even in Singapore. But when I learned she’s fictional, I discovered an inspiring real-life “Asian Betty Crocker” from the 1980s: Leann Chin. She went from seamstress to celebrated restaurateur, with Sean Connery as an investor! Her brand was later sold...
PUMPKIN SOUP With THAI TWIST You’ve Never Tried!

In this video, I celebrate my first seasonal change to autumn here in America! 🍂 As the leaves turn and the air gets crisp, I’m embracing the spirit of the season by making a cozy pumpkin soup - but with a unique twist. This recipe is inspired by the Akha hill tribe from Thailand, a community I had the privilege of spending time with, learning about their food and culture. The Akha people live ...

In my first-ever love letter recipe to the 🇺🇸, I'm embracing the simple yet soul-warming classic: grilled cheese and tomato soup! Growing up in Singapore, American culture shaped my childhood through cartoons, movies, and even the food. Now that I've made the move to this melting pot of a country, this dish holds a special place in my heart. But don't worry, I've put my fun twist on this timele...
Singapore Katong Laksa: The Spicy Noodle Soup That Conquered Gordon Ramsay

Forget fancy Michelin-star dishes! This humble street food from Singapore took down the one and only Gordon Ramsay in a cook-off some years ago! Yep, you heard that right. Katong Laksa, a creamy, coconutty, spicy noodle soup, reigned supreme. Laksa comes in tons of varieties across Southeast Asia, but this one is special. Think crazy umami flavors, a rich coconut curry broth, and a balanced top...

Dramatic adding of noodles is never unnecessary 😂 I wish I could get fresh noodles that wide in London - we can get ho fun (about 1cm wide) or cheung fun (big sheets) but nothing in-between. Can you share the location of the Pad Kee Mao auntie in Wongwian Yai? It's one of my favourite areas to just walk around and enjoy "real" Bangkok, and I hope to be back in January, so I'd love to try it!

Good question. Few tips - pick younger, fresher ones so greener leafs and firm stalks; you can blanch quickly that can help reduce some bitterness; definitely don't overcook. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, as far as fall favorites….the fall season kicks off soup season. Your pumpkin soup is perfect for this time of year. Of course, one of the biggest meals of the year in this country, Thanksgiving, happens in the fall. The things I look forward to this time of year are the drinks….pumpkin spice lattes and hot apple cider 🙂

    • @evehappivore

It's usually tomato skins that are dried and then grinding them into a fine powder, commonly used to add color and subtle flavor to fancy up a dish.

Singapore Noodles, just found your channel and I already love your presentation style and attitude... but, more... I cook Asian and I love foods that you are presenting... Question: I saw your vid on Rice... you're in California, you must have tasted American Wild Rice... how does it compare with Forbidden Rice or any variety of Black Rice? Thanks OBTW: when do you plan to do your version of Pomelo Salad? Let me know...

    • @evehappivore

Thank you for taking the time for the comment and enjiying my efforts. I haven't tried American Wild Rice but it's now on my list to discover in CA and I'll come up with an idea to showcase that and forbidden rice down the road of content ideas. As for Pomelo Salad, it's also on my to create list but will have to wait for the peak season likeliest Dec-Feb. Stay tuned!!!

    • @kennethcunningham9496
      @kennethcunningham9496 Місяць тому

@@evehappivore I will stay tuned... did you know that California is the largest grower of American Wild Rice... Sacramental Delta. Just so you know, American Wild Rice is supper popular in 'some' Creole Cuisine especially as a rice stuffing for the Thanksgiving Bird where it is mixed with white rice (usually 1 to1) and pan browned. First Step: brown pork sausage (hot or mild) with onions, garlic, bell pepper, diced celery, (sliced mushrooms (variation), Creole seasoning and depending on how spicy you want it, ground cayenne pepper. Second Step: Removed the ground pork from the pan and then, browned the rice mixture, add raisins and then, combined the pork with the rice... and for the liquid, chicken stock, but veggie stock works well also. Third Step: After being brought to a boil, it's covered on low heat until the liquid is absorbed usually about 30 to 40 mins. After that just add the mixture to the turkey cavity for finishing with all those turkey juices dripping into the rice mixture during roasting... that's how my ex-mother-in-law made it and basically how I make it today, minus adding it to the turkey cavity... I just prepare it as a stove top dish. And last request: do a Singapore Noodle vid also... Good Luck with your Channel... we'll talk in the future, since I have some ideas... bye

Good food does not have to be pretty or fancy. Thai food is a lot more than cashew chicken and pad see ew. As a lover of Chinese, Indian, and classic Southeast Asian flavors, Thai food has it all. Yaowarat is usually the place I go to for Thai-Chinese flavors. I will give this one a try in my light-weight Chinese cast iron wok.
