    Sorry Steve, u got the capital S and small S reversed. But the saints made by the RCC are not saints. U become a saint only when u are born again. Book of 1 jn mentions these saints who are born of god. They are spotless, without blemish n wrinkle. The bride of christ. Can u name at least 1 living from the RCC.

    Excuse me. Pope jn 23rd was made a saint but he was a freemason. Pope JP2 was made a saint but he did not believe in creation of Adam n Eve. Alphonsus Ligouri made a saint but he invented all worship to mary. Faustina made a saint but could not realise tht it was not jesus tht spoke to her. Catherine of Siena made a saint but said, even if the pope is satan incarnate, we must not rise up against him. Wake up steve

Did u do a 180 degree turn, not to repeat those sins. N do u believe tht u are saved by faith See how many will say YES to all these questions. N do u know why u cannot get even 1 catholic saved. "SANCTIFIED" = Sanctus, pagan deity, identified with Jupiter and Apollo. Right word, eLECT

  • @garystanfield2274

    "HOLY" is derived for the divinely honored sun. Holy, Holiday, Holy Spirit are all interrelated and come from the Hindu religion. The words are derived from "Holi" which is the great Hindu spring festival held in honor of "Krishna," the Hindu Sun-deity.

  • @garystanfield2274
    @garystanfield2274 Рік тому

    "SAINT" The proper word to use is "upright" or "Elect" in place of Saint, since scriptures tell us the following in Romans: Romans 3:10 As it is written , There is none righteous, no, not one The etymology of the word “saint” - its origin and meaning: It came into use in the English language around the 1100's, as an adjective used of those whom the Catholic Church had “beatified” and “canonized”. At that time, the meaning of the word “saint” was “holy”, corresponding to the Latin adjective sanctus which meant “holy”, “sacred” (related to the verb sancio, “to consecrate”). So, in the 1100s, “saint Eligius” simply meant “holy Eligius”. Later, in the 1300s or so, the word “saint” began to be used even as a noun, “a saint”, but it still referred to the Catholic “saints”, and was not used of living persons. The word Sacred is a sun deity name. , Holy is derived for the divinely honored sun. So it seems that since it did come from Rome, that Saint has something to do with the sun and sun worship. It was only in Protestant times, from the 1500s and onward, that the English word “saint” began to be used of (living) persons of “extraordinary holiness”, and then even of church members and so on. This would be like the word "rapture", which was used only in Jerome's Latin Vulgate and Christians still use that word today, so it seems that this also goes for the word "saint". Even the words “saintdom” and “sainthood” were originally Catholic concepts, referring to those whom the Catholic Church had “beatified” and “canonised”. A note: The words “sainthood” and “saintdom” do not appear in bible-translations, at least not in any of the most common ones. All of Catholic origin. This is how the English word “saint” came into being: The Greek (Erasmus) text of the New Testament has hagios (άγιος). Jerome's Latin Vulgate version translated that into Latin as sanctus. Wycliffe, whose 1395 English translation was based on the (Jerome's) Latin text and not on the Greek, did not translate the Latin sanctus but used it, in the transcribed form “seyntis”. Later, the spelling was changed further, to “sainctes” (Tyndale, 1525), “sayntes” (Coverdale, 1535), “saintes” (Geneva bible, 1560) and finally “saints” (Geneva bible, 1587). Pagan deities were made Christian saints. Bacchus became St. Bacchus Dionysius became St. Denys or Denis Brigid, Became Saint Brigid Dazhdbóg became saint Germain ERos became SAINT EROS, Demeter is now St. Demetrios Aphrodite became St. Aphrodite The Roman deities Mars was originally a deity who guarded wheat fields. He became St. Martin (esp. St. Martin-in-the-fields) The Roman deity Quirinus became St. Cyrinus, The Roman deities known as the Lares became St. Lawrence The Roman female deity Venus became St. Venera The Roman deities known as the Gemini, who were protectors of sailors in Roman pagan times, became the Sanctos Geminos The Greek deity Nike was picked up as Saint Nicholas, who was extremely popular wherever shipping was important. He is the patron saint of Russian, Holland and Germany, all on the north sea coast.

    You clearly had a poor teaching in American churches ,you do not understand the gospel and are not saved . An American baptist once said to me there are many churches there that preach a watered down gospel, and many are following their own traditions and no different from the Anglican church here in G.B. He was a minister 9 years before he was converted. Look at what was taught by the Apostles, it was believe you are sinner and under the condemnation of God .that is why Jesus died for your sins . Now you have to believe this and repent of your sins . True faith is in everything Jesus said and did. You were right in one thing the word saint is applied to the believers only. There are not two kinds of saints anywhere in the Bible. Letters were addressed to the saints at --then the name of the church. A true believer does not continue in wilful sin ,but is not sinless. God said ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. That includes Mary. Only God is sinless. If you studied John's gospel more carefully you would know what Jesus meant by water and Spirit. Nicodemus said can a man go back into the womb? He was thinking of the physical birth .Jesus said that which is born of the flesh is flesh,that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. So except a man is born of water (physical birth) AND the Spirit ,HE CANNOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD. The true repentant believer is sanctified during there life ,and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. They cannot be lost. God says so .2 John 5 . these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God that ye may KNOW that you have eternal life. If you are saved you know you already have eternal life . We will all be changed from this earthly body to an eternal one. Jesus earthly body does not exist any more . It was changed ,as 'flesh and blood does not inherit eternal life .'He does not have a body of flesh and blood anymore. You have taken on there false teaching ,thinking their Roman church was the only one . The fell into error through the influence of the pagan Roman Emperors. Just study the lives of the Popes they were immoral ,murderers, and far from Christian.

      @@po18guy To bind and loose was only given to the Apostles, not one church. It was a Jewish expression which meant bind certain laws The Apostles brought Jesus laws . The Roman church departed from the true GOSPEL OF FAITH AND REPENTANCE .Of course Paul knew he had eternal life, as he spoke of dying as being with Christ which is far better. If you don't know you do not have it ,as it means you do not believe.

    • @wendymitchell8245
      @wendymitchell8245 Рік тому

      @@po18guy This is not correct. Waldensians baptised and were similar in 12th Cent. They claimed to have predecessors from Roman times who fled Rome . 1520 Anabaptists were threatened with death if they were baptised as believers after being Christened . John Smyth 1570 Anglican who thought baptising babies was wrong . Started a small Baptist meeting similar to the traditional Baptist of the last century ,but he then left and ended up with the Mennonites. None of these were watered down until about the 1960 with the pop culture influencing churches music and worship. The Roman church dropped Baptism under the influence of the Emperors ,and replaced it with Christening in general .Then in the last cent Vat 2 changed the Roman church as well .Now I have seen in Vienna a R.C. service at Christmas a year or 2 ago, with people dressed in red costumes and one with a devil's mask and horns dancing about in the service. It might still be on Y.TUBE . IT IS NOW MORE ABOUT ENTERTAINING THAN WORSHIP. We are told 'in the last days people will depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and the doctrine of demons.'

      @@elenag2965 The word “saint” comes from the Greek word hagios, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious." It is almost always used in the plural, “saints.” "…Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem" (Acts 9:13). "Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda" (Acts 9:32). "And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons …“ (Acts 26:10). There is only one instance of the singular use, and that is "Greet every saint in Christ Jesus…" (Philippians 4:21). In Scripture there are 67 uses of the plural “saints” compared to only one use of the singular word “saint.” Even in that one instance, a plurality of saints is in view: “…every saint…” (Philippians 4:21). The idea of the word “saints” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. There are three references referring to godly character of saints: "that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints …" (Romans 16:2). "For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). "But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints" (Ephesians 5:3). Therefore, scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christians are saints-and at the same time are called to be saints. First Corinthians 1:2 states it clearly: “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy…” The words “sanctified” and “holy” come from the same Greek root as the word that is commonly translated “saints.” Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. This is the biblical description and calling of the saints. How does the Roman Catholic understanding of “saints” compare with the biblical teaching? Not very well. In Roman Catholic theology, the saints are in heaven. In the Bible, the saints are on earth. In Roman Catholic teaching, a person does not become a saint unless he/she is “beatified” or “canonized” by the Pope or prominent bishop. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith is a saint. In Roman Catholic practice, the saints are revered, prayed to, and in some instances, worshiped. Mr Ray needs to meet fellow Muslims to discuss about faith rather than to spread sarcastic remarks about Muslims. One true thing that he had informed to his Mass was that all prophets since Adam till Jesus were Muslims meaning submission to the Creator, Allah. Muhammad (peace be upon him) was not the founder of Islam. Allah Himself proclaimed in Al Quran that verily the Deen(way of life) with Allah is Islam. Mr Ray is welcome to read Al Quran with his heart faithfully and to receive the truth.
