Inside a 70s time capsule house inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright
This 70s house is still occupied by the original owners, who commissioned Sheldon D. Rosen and (SDR Group architectural firm) to design a property inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. The home has been impeccably maintained, featuring a sunken living room, warm wood surrounds and even a carpeted bathroom. Tour with me!
This home is listed for $5,380,000 and represented by Adrienne Goodman Florovski & Jerry Hammond with Hammond International Properties Limited - MLS: N8316612 (last updated June 29th, 2024)

The Sheats Goldstein Residence by John Lautner circa 1963. This modern property became home to James Goldstein in the 70s and Jimmy worked with Lautner for years to restore the architecture to its full potential. This is truly a breathtaking house and property - touring this space felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm so happy to be able to share that with you. Thank you to both Ji...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I made this video because I realized there was an overlap with how I prep for hosting & how I prep for staging, and that's by designing the experience around ALL the 5 senses that a guest will encounter when entering your home. From the sights & sounds, to the smells, tastes & things people touch, each of the things a guest will encounter has an effect on how they feel in your h...

Really good video dude, nice one!
Thanks dude 😎 took me a while to put together but I hope to make more
@@mirandavideo if you do them in the same way you've done this one then you're channel is on to a winner for sure 😁 Good luck dude! 😎
it's not giving FLW in the least. and it's an actual sin to film in portrait mode😂
Tell that to the person who was reportedly inspired by FLW! 😅 and I film these for TikTok/Instagram usually. The voiceover and video took so long to record that I wanted to put it on here too
This one has been my favorite by far !
Where is Jackie Treehorn?!?
Wow, that home is amazing! The only negative detractor is the carpet in the bathrooms. Yeech. However, it's still a phenomenal home! Nice camera work.
Thank you! The carpet in the bathrooms is definitely not my taste for living in this home, but for admiring it from the outside it's so funky haha!
Hows the smut business, jackie
I see the vision 😍😍😍
I wish I knew how the new owners were decorating this house!!
Im obsessed with the split level homes made in the 70s/ 80s I def would love to build my own dup of these types of homes as my settle down home.
that sounds like a dream! I wish more modern homes were built like 70s houses
@@mirandavideo yes! Truly cant stand this modern open stuff lol 😭 i feel like its makes the home less cozy
This is the best audiovisual content I’ve seen regarding this property. Amazing video!!!
Thank you 🥹 this made my day to hear you think so!
On the market! This home is listed for $5,380,000 and is represented by Adrienne Goodman Florovski & Jerry Hammond with Hammond International Properties Limited - MLS: N8316612
I'm an agent in Alberta. Any way you could send me the floorplans for this home from the listing? I see it's now sold!
@@shannonsharmarealestateI don’t think they were ever available unfortunately 😢
@@mirandavideo thanks for your reply! I tried looking on Zillow and Redfin as the listing is still kind of up and they aren't there either. Just thought they might have been on the backend of MLS.
you can just picture all your mid century modern furniture here 🤤 this home has it all: clerestory windows, a cantilevered fireplace, original flooring, exposed brick, indoor-outdoor vibes. Built in the 60s and designed by architect W.J. McBain, a notable architect who studied architecture at The University of Toronto and eventually ended up teaching there. He designed the original Cooksville Library and was one of the designers of the law building at U of T. This house is listed for sale by VICKI SCHMIDT Realty ONE Group Flagship W8228034 $2.5M
This home is listed for $5,380,000 and represented by Adrienne Goodman Florovski & Jerry Hammond with Hammond International Properties Limited - MLS: N8316612
Excellent camera work! What a gem. Such a great example of modernity 1970's style.
Thank you! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it :) always trying to find cool houses like this
Omg knew the Sheets ..from the country club ..
oh I would love to hear about what they were like! They definitely have excellent taste in houses & architecture
the outside doesn't match the inside...as in it's normal on the outside and then Bam!!! I would be napping on that carpet all the time.
party in the back!! :D
Designed by firm Hariri Pontarini Architects (HPA) and completed in 1999, this modern home nods to mid century modern residential design in all the best ways: clerestory windows, warm teak wood window casings & a delightful blend of indoors + out. Hi Miranda it’s Ava I miss u so much
Miss you too Ava!!
masterpiece
absolutely
This is GORGEOUS! I will have to check this place out next time I'm in Beverly Hills.
this is one of the best tours of this house I've seen and I've watched every video on UA-cam Vimeo or from heritage sites of every Lautner house. but you were able to tie together the location of some areas I was unclear on as well as really outstanding videography. amazing!! now if I'm honest I'm still a bit sore about the loss of the Warren/Concannon but I'm sure he must have been ok, I just really liked it and can no longer find the video that the lady who rented it for years made in it. it was the only video from inside that house I've ever located but that not the point. you did a truly excellent tour and video with proper information as well. I love to see things done exceptionally well. you have a lovely bueatiful voice and tone as well. im sure you're well on your way to where it is you desire to be. thank you for sharing this with the world so that can see how much of a genius Lautner was. cheers
Gregory, it made my morning to read your kind words today - thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I would love to create more like it! If you ever happen upon the video of the Concannon Warren house you mentioned, please share it! I would love to see that too. Fascinating work by a great architect.
Is Andrea Kreuzhage the resident you're talking about? I found photos that seem to indicate she renovated the home before it was demolished www.flickr.com/photos/1000journals/albums/72157629727729197/with/7040415521
@@mirandavideo yes ma'am that's exactly what her name was. She walked through it telling the camera some of the things she had redone. The furniture was sparce and she had made an office area to work. I recall her saying that was the reason for renting either to be close to work or have a peaceful place to work with minimal distractions. I would have never remembered her name but as soon as I saw What you wrote I remembered instantly I will do some searching for it I apologize I was trying to message yesterday but I got kicked off of comments for 24 hours Because I'm too truthful for some people Or the UA-cam moderators LOL but again truly just a really really nice video with a lot of clear explanation and information again wonderful very outstanding cheers
BIG LEBOWSKI REFERENCE???
honestly I missed a huge opportunity when I was talking about the rug
@@mirandavideo That would have tied the whole video together!

Loved this from top to bottom !! Great job
It's an incredible home! Thank you for watching :)
what a stunning house and the way you describe everything is amazing 🤌🤌
I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the video :) we toured in February and it took me months to edit the tour. Thank you for watching!

@@mymotorcyclelover that's so kind - thank you!
Thanks for the tour Miranda, that’s quite a house. Bruce
Thanks for watching Bruce! Wouldn’t this be a great one to walk around with Bruce 😊
The grounds are 4 acres!
My dream house! ❤️
I actually kind of like sunken living rooms like that with multiple steps and plush carpet. Kind of gives you an idea of what the original intent was - a cozy nook separated from the rest of the living space.
60/70s were all about cozy spaces 🥹 I wish new places had the same type of ethos these days
I like the built-in couch
I can just picture it!!
This place is insane! It is like the Brady bunch home on crack! Perhaps someone can find out who built this masterpiece. Did you notice any Televisions in the place?
It's possible that the televisions were removed for staging. I ended up buying the modular sofa from this home - loved it so much!
This is gorgeous
It was a special one to tour 😊 I ended up buying their sofa
How in the heck do you get furniture up those stairs?!?
Haha good point! I can’t imagine it was easy 😅
This is lovely. Real plants would add life to this space.
Thanks for tuning in. I love real plants! They’re tricky with vacant spaces/staging because the plants don’t like being moved around too much and need lots of love & attention 😊 but we try to use them when homeowners have plants already there
Cute little place thanks for sharing. Bruce
Thank you for watching, Bruce! This was a fun apartment to prepare :)
Tenian buen gusto los propietarios, no se dejaron llevar por fantasias ni modas estridentes
Amazing home, interiors, architecture, art... everything! This type of style is my complete vibe.
So happy to hear you enjoyed this home as much as I did! The property was staged by Francesca Grace - she is so talented!
Great information on lighting! It's something I overlook all the time and just use the "big lights" when I'm hosting.
I don't mind the big light if you're doing something intricate, but as soon as dinner starts I like to make things a little more moody ;) thanks for watching!
Technically all interior fireplaces are floor to ceiling.
Hmm. How else would you describe this fireplace?
This home captures natural light very well. The sloped roof pitches adds more sense of space. I also like how spaces are separated but connected by light peaking through(light in the kitchen & dining room peaks through to the living room).
Great observations! I also loved the stained-glass porthole style window upstairs. The owners were artists and it was evident the love they poured into this home. Thank you for watching!
Great tips! Love the idea of using your senses to make sure everything is pleasant and cozy. I don't think a single clean hand towel is awful, but I do think the individual wash cloth idea is an interesting idea. Also love the tip to keep easy activities close at hand. If you have the space for it, an easy puzzle makes a good engagement piece for people to float to if they're not feeling chatty. In fact, I think having multiple, adjacent hangout zones is a great plan. Two groups of five people talking feels like a party, while one group of ten feels is a recipe for awkwardness when there's a lull in conversation because everyone feels like they're on display!
I love your puzzle idea! Our fam is big on puzzles and it’s fun to do them with other people. I usually go for a white hand towel if it’s a single one just because I was once on an airbnb group and I saw other hosts suggest dark towels because they hide stains easier. Ever since then I couldn’t get it out of my head haha
@@mirandavideo Lol!! Their suggestion backfired and now all dark towels seem dirty. 😂
@@katattack907exactly 😅
This was super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely be using that wash-cloth tip
Glad you enjoyed it, Patrick! The wash cloths are my favourite. A small investment up front but well worth it :) our guests always comment on those
Overwhelmed on the west coast. Thanks for the interesting video.
Are you hosting lots this year? Wishing you guys a Merry Christmas from Toronto!
