First day out to explore if the mountain whitefish is in the system. Yes they are, starting to feed on salmon fry. Here I am casting lures under a float to get their attention.

What a stupid video...nothing happened!!!???
That was Beautiful and absolutely Great. The mere appearance of that Moose was like a Phantom coming upon You. He didn't interrupt you, and you most definitely didn't bother him either. Congratulations on a most excellent fishing Trip.
just subscribed liked and shared, beautiful scenery with just the relaxing sound of nature, i am very envious as i work in an office in a bleak city in the UK, this for me is a chance at escaping my mundane job for a bit and pretending i am there, keep on doing what your doing you lucky human, amazing moose spot also. oh and p.s don't take any notice of people like Daniel, they usually are not happy with how they are living life, hopefully they learn some respect and take care of themselves one day, big love
NOTHING happens, not even catching fish. Why did you think anyone wants to watch you reel in an empty line for 2:16?
@@danielramage6237 0:33-1:30, there is a moose showed up, watch for it left side of the screen, it is there for almost a minute, before I spotted him, you didn’t see it right away as well 🙂✋
Beautiful surrounding😍😍
Location please ?
Cates Park North Vancouver
I'm really new to fishing. SO GREEN. I recently moved within meters of Stave River and wondering what kind of bait and/or lure I should be using. And is it better up closer to the dam or any place along the river ok? Prefer trout but at this point I just want to catch something!! Thanks for the vid :)
Nice video. Thank you for sharing. What time of year/month is this? Are they available all year or when is the best time to fish these? Thanks.
Thanks! This was back in April, but you can find them all year around .
This is great! But what is the final comment/warning about not being 100% about the roes....source...parasites??? The script at 4:27 is blocked by the 3 boxes of links. Please clarify, thank you!
Basically, you want to use previously frozen eggs to avoid any risk of parasites .
Had to be flash frozen. 70c kills parasites
Very beautiful and impressive video, thanks for sharing 👍👍😍
Do you put the frozen roe into the warm water directly or do you let them unfreeze (thaw) in a fridge before you start the process?
Location plz?
@@chevelleSS427 thanks
Does the recipe change for caviar pulled fresh from a caught fish?
Exact same thing 👌 You want to use previously frozen eggs or freeze them after to make sure there are no parasites.
Wwooww very nice video
How did you freeze your roe?
Best way is to vacuum seal. You can keep it in your freezer for months. Or you can use a zip lock or a container. Important to fill it up to the top and to get rid of all extra air.
@@tajmen81 Awesome! Thanks for your quick reply. Did you keep roe with the skein?
@@mamaminazid4082 yes
Very nice. You got some really nice ones.
Would you mind mentioning which lake this was
Nice catch
Could you please comment on what color fresh salmon eggs should be or how to tell if they are good before buying? I got my salmon eggs from a seasonal vendor at my farmers' market. The first time they were bright orange, like yours. The recipe worked great. The second time they were a beautiful ruby red--'cause fish eggs come in different colors, right?...?...or were they too old? The recipe worked, but not great: majority of the eggs broke, the water in which I was trying to de-skein them got so murky I couldn't see my eggs. There was all kinds of sticky goo at the bottom of my bowl after de-skeining and several rinses. But there were also a number of variables: immediate use of fresh eggs vs. freezing the skein before using, slight variations in the recipe, and so on. Were my eggs too old or was my less successful batch a product of my own doing? Is all that stickiness and cloudiness normal? I don't recall it from my first attempt, but maybe I was too buy trying to figure out what I was doing to notice. Thanks!
The colour of the eggs usually brighter from the ocean fish, if the fish was caught in fresh water, after spending weeks there, egg will be lighter in colour.Texture as well depends on that. Salmon from fresh water will have harder eggs. But what you explained sounds to me that the eggs were frozen on and off a few times. Ideally any seafood has to be frozen once, otherwise eggs, in this case, will break. Also try to thaw eggs in a fridge over night, this way there is a less chance they will break. Good luck!
Nice!!! PLease more video with Crabbing or spot shrimp catching :D

Location of this site?
Somewhere in Dollarton Village, North Vancouver
looks like cates park if i had to guess
what rig setup you use on whitefish?
Used basic float fishing set up here. 2-3 ft leader and a small spoon/spinner. Now you can use a single egg fly instead
Why cover the sounds of nature with loud music? A beautiful peaceful spot likes this has nature's music.
how many crabs could you take a day ?
4
4 max/fisher. 2 traps/fisher.
some toast bread. some butter. some lemon. some green onions. simplicity. but to be fair, i never got them from a fish. omg they look so fresh.
Can u go any time or just when the dock is open to crabbing
If you crabbing from shore, can do it any time.
its better if you go at low tide from shore
A lot of snow for late April! The landscape in your region is really immense and so quiet! Great video!
Where
Stave river in British Columbia
Hey, is this by port moody? Would you be able to send me a email to 6smind@gmail.com so we can chat? I'm also from bc as well. I want to check out this place with my kids
Hi, there is no secret location. You can catch crab like this anywhere as long as the regulations allow. This specific location is a shore line of Cates Park. And don't forget to subscribe, I ll be posting lots of cool stuff ! :-)
Красота!!!! Такое чувство, будто я стою рядом и вижу все воочию.
very informative. but I think the name of the video should be how to make not how to eat.
Thanks! A good point! Will consider for the future videos :-)
nice time for meditational thoughts.....
Thats the whole point :-)
What setup
drifting roe under a float
Very cool! Were you drifting a jig?
Thanks, I was actually using roe during this episode, was targeting coho. But most of them were chums.
Oh wow, this channel is a gem 💎
Thanks man, I m glad you like it !
I was also wondering where you bought ur purple jigs? I’m having trouble finding some!
Try these stores: Cabelas, Berrysbait, Fred’s
what was ur setup?
Fishing with a jig under a float. Use 20-30 gr float for the current in that river. Jig- purple works best for me. Keep your depth 2-3 feet max. Otherwise you ll be dragging bottom and snagging fish. Good luck!
@@tajmen81 thanks man! I hope to see you on the river!
@@tajmen81 by any chance how long is the leader from swivel to jig?
@@killzboy1234 at least 1.5 ft but your total depth again is no more then 3ft. I use 1/4 oz jigs so they sink fast .
@@tajmen81 thanks man ur the best!
Great video! I was just wondering how close you were to the Ruskin spawning channel?
Thanks! Fishing was slow on that side, so I was actually fishing on the other side of the river from the spawning channel
What lure did you use?
@@juztinl9535 For this fishing you need to use a jig under a float. For me purple and black colours work the best.
If u plan on releasing a fish, Dont drag it all the up on land first. Keep it in the water. Just a friendly reminder 👍🏼
