I was in my church's YRUU group starting about a year after they transitioned from LRY to YRUU. Ours was mostly a social group. I never attended church congregation, YRUU met on Monday nights. Went to all the local district weekend conferences, and we hosted one every year. Ours was the last one, or at leastt the last in our district, where you stayed in the church overnights; all the other conferences had host families who would take one to three of the visiting YRUUers overnight. One year I went to Con-Con when it was in Iowa, relatively near me. That was during the week of my 18th birthday. (EDIT) I guess our local LRY ended/YRUU started a little before you said. I was definitely never in LRY and only in YRUU, and that was in 1981 or 1982.
Hi 👋 this is Katy Hoffman and I am from Santa Monica UU community church and I bridged in 2016 and now I currently missed going to YRUU at my church and now I think I am still thinking about if I am a UU Is that okay?
Totally ok! Part of being UU is seeking, questioning, searching for our own spiritual identity and the meaning behind it all. Keep doing U,U!
