Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is engaged in the fields of formal and informal education. She is Chairperson of Qatar Museums, Doha Film Institute, Reach Out to Asia, and Qatar Leadership Centre. In having the privilege to serve her country in multiple fields - among them culture, leadership, education, and philanthropy - she has been able to facilitate conversations across borders and fields. As a public servant, her objective is to invest in Qatar’s local community and celebrate the country’s diversity using the visual arts as a vehicle for communication. Her current interests are in human development, cultural regionalism, environmental stewardship and sustainability, and economic growth using culture as a catalyst for education, dialogue, and exchange. Through her public work and support of the Qatar Vision 2030, she is building an exciting creative future for the country that will connect artistic communities in all areas of culture.
EP18 - The Power of Culture: Fatma Ibrahim Al Sehlawi
In this episode, Her Excellency welcomes Qatari architect, Fatma Ibrahim Al Sehlawi. She is the co-founder of Atlas Bookstore (2015) and the co-founder of Studio Imara (2017). In parallel, Fatma has been leading the Qatar Blueprint project at the Office of H.E. Chairperson of Qatar Museums.
She discusses her background in architecture and work on the building of Lusail City in Qatar and her transition to cultural projects, reflecting on the development of the city and the importance of synergies between heritage and contemporary art. She also talks about her collaborative work with Herzog and de Meuron, Rem Koolhaas, and OMA on various exhibitions and the blueprint project.

Your thought should be about God directly. you should be confected - - - to GOD Those who have worshipped stones before are dead.... how long ago 60 thousand years ago and more. I've been here for 8,000 years and I keep seeing the same things where people leave God, different books come down from God and you people are always looking for what doesn't matter. bodies with hearts of stones. Listen well. . . God is only one the first before time and all the present the last. It's just him, no one else, look at God through the Quran and don't take your eyes off. at least 2 hours a day

Always an interesting conversation to follow, with the shame of being a little impersonal, as it doesn't record the live image of the participants. History is made up of images from the time of the dinosaurs, it's not enough to listen even though it's interesting. Just this aside for those who produce and promote the image of Qatar in the person of His Excellency Almayassa who enchants me with his presence🌞
