Thanks for watching! This summer, I joined a four-week expedition with Operation Wallacea. I spent the first two weeks at two different forest camps in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, assisting with biodiversity surveys to help conservation efforts. The final two weeks, I was at Akumal at the marine site, taking part in a two-week reef ecology course. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did...

This summer I had the opportunity to volunteer with Operation Wallacea as a research assistant. Thank you to everyone who made this past summer an experience to remember.

I'm doing this 2023 very excited. Where there proper toilets in the jungle or was it more wild. Did they have power things. Like could you charge your phone in the jungle?

Hello! That's so exciting to hear!! There are actual toilets at base camp, however, at satellite camps, they're more wild! There is limited power at base camp, but there is a place to charge your phone, camera, etc.. I recommend bringing a good portable charger and you'll be set. I never had a problem with either :)
