Clay, what ever happened to your video Poisoned requiem?
I'm about 20 minutes away from there it closed down because they opened up the Great Escape
I went there in the late 70’s. We got stuck in the back of the cemetery and heard what sounded like an old time fare music. It was so scary. Early morning we were able to get out.
There as a kid
Shit is not haunted…I went there at night and it was just a regular cemetery 😂
Six years later zero improvements. The one store that used to be open is closed, looks like it has been for quite a while. The old jail is cool to look at. Plenty of drunks must have spent the night in those cells.
It is people like you that go inside these abandon places that make the locals tear down old ghost towns and buildings. The land is own by someone, look from the outside and respect someone's property.
My childhood memories for sure..I certainly remember these places like it was yesterday..but still so long ago
It's sad that places like this are left and look like this
Those were the good ole days when we were kids going to Story Town, Gas Light Village and Frontier Town.
Where is it located
I went there with my exhusband one time. We were supposed to meet up with a friend who is an avid ghost hunter to explore but se cancelled when we were ur way because her son broke his arm and they had to go the hospital. I wonder now, if that happened spiritually as a deterrent. We were already on our way and stopped at Red Lobster to eat first. We struck up a conversation with our waiter and he, ironically knew of Pinewoods so we said, we have to go now. Upon entering, the wind and tree leaves took on an eerie feel. We proceeded onwards deeper into the trees as the actually cemetery part starts about 200 feet back. I then heard a woman’s voice coming from the sky, it was hard to make out anything she was saying but I asked my husband if he heard it and he did too. It sounded like someone tallking from another level of the house withi the floor in between. The feeling inside was an oppressive feeling and I wanted to get out. We did leave and drove down the road to see if there were any houses having a party or something outside to explain the voice and there was none. It’s funny that the narrator said this place is known to stick with you because I couldn’t shake that place or the feeling for 3 days and I swear I will not go back there.
I worked there. It was a booming tourist place back in the 70s and allot of people came from Canada. Very popular! So sad!! A real frontier town.
Is that the theme park at lake George NY near great escape. I went there as a child.
I just went there this morning before heading home to Onawa, IA. Clear my head before a 4 to 5 hour drive
yes the sheriff patrol the area alot these days
Frontier Town AT Schroon Lake been there it a scary place at night
i went their when i was a kid only to pull up with a sign CLOSED, rgar was the late 60s. i was hearbroken
Really cool ! and the music reminded me long notes played slow is an art in and of its self. I loved it. Great Job !!
I am from Montreal never got to go but my friends did it seemed to be such fun. They really should bring it back what a thrill for children.
I wouldn't love to go camping there
My parents took us kids to fronter, I was very young my mom has pictures of us there
I lived on Collins Avenue. My Graat Grandmother is buried there. When we were kids in the 70's my mom would pack a picnic and we would walk to the cemetery and to my great grandmother's grave. We would eat or sandwich while my mom used scissors cut away the dead grass from the headstone. My brother and his best friend found the caretaker collapsed. They ran home on their bikes and the police went. They said he had a heart attack and died. It was always known...you don't go there at night...ever. it was such a beautiful place but even as a child, i could feel it wasn't "right".
That's more different than greensboro arboretum
They've really cleaned up the place. When I was a senior at Rensselaer back in 1988, I liked to take long walks alone, and I happened to take one along Pinewoods Ave. It was getting dark, with only a little light from the moon, but I saw these two large pillars with a giant chain across the front to keep vehicles out... apparently replaced now with gates. It seemed like it had once been an entrance, but was almost fully wooded. I was curious and began to walk in. I kept running into graves, statues with arms broken off. By this point, I was pretty spooked, but I just kept going out of fascination, until I reached the mausoleum. Now it is an empty shell, but at the time, all the shelving for caskets was there, having collapsed in on itself. But no caskets. That was enough for me. I decided to turn back The place was more like a forest than a cemetery back then. Only many years later did I learn of its status as a "haunted cemetery."
Loved this ty
I visited this place back in the 70s, it was just another tourist trap.
The whole place has a creepy vibe, but my heart was pounding a mile a minute the entire time you were in the church building!
Went by this spot yesterday. Somebody bought this property & is fixing it up.
I noticed that last year when we tried to go back there
I went there as a kid. We lived on Long Island then. We went as a Family my 3 brothers and my cousins..it was fun and exciting with cowboy shootouts and stagecoach robberies. We also went to the north pole and santa's workshop...It was truly a different world back then. No computers or cell phones...who the hell needs it!!
Awesome photography!!
Thanks!
But me no scared 😡
How dare they say no injuns allowed
Up there where?? Where are u at up north in NYS??
This breaks my hart😢
The internet and social media are today's "make believe" and fantasy.
I grew up in the Adirondacks. My grandparents had cabins for tourists on their way to Lake Placid. They had a small booth near the road with pamphlets for all the tourist attractions in the area. I remember the 70's and going to Frontier Town, Storytown USA, Land of Make-Believe, AuSable Chasm, High Falls Gorge, Fort Ticonderoga, and 1001 Animals. I feel so blessed, even though the memories are distant, to have lived in that time... Breaks my heart to see the decline of these places.
I believe excluding immigration, NY State has the lowest birth rate in the nation. If it were not for immigrants, you couldn't give away a house in NY. Not to pry, friend, but why do you reckon that is? No marriage...no children?
@@sailingaeolus I can't comment on the birthrate with any credibility, but from what I've heard, many people who can get out of New York State are leaving. I left in 1996 due to limited occupational choices.
Don’t forget Santa’s Workshop and Whiteface Mountain.
Love your video

nice camera work! good music also.
Faaaaantabulous job on this video. You must definitely neither created or selected the perfect accompanying music score was so perfect in that it acts as the musical storyteller of this, lonely, forgotten place.
Yeah I typically write the music around the video. Thanks for the input!
The word cult is slung around a lot in order to institute fear in people. As a doctor in religious studies. I have a knowledge of cults and evil religious movements. History has proven that most church movements have been cults. Want to know about evil and what cults can do. Check out the Roman Catholic church. Even look into her daughter movements, such as the baptist, lutherans, methodist etc. Shalom Dr. Lotan Moshe Ben Kedar Thd.
It was not inside the mausoleum. I was one of the boys. I can tell you the story.
These places make me wonder if they were gradually abandoned. It seems like some buildings are in more ruin than others! Marty Robbins was one of my grandmother's favorite singers.
Oh I agree, they are abandoned. My friends and I were 14 at the time; exploring the homes as we saw old books, shoes, dresses, and diaries that were hidden under the floor.
Stupid beginning song for a vid about South Dakota.
Where was this
