Wonderful rendition. And to come off this lovely in this extreme close-up shot, you really need more than just a beautiful voice ;) She has it all! Great playing by everyone involved
This is flawless!!Perfection all around!!!❤
Audio is terrible. She is an amazing singer but I couldn't hear her.
Great, but ... not quite there yet - singing wrong lyrics twice in the second 8, messy ending
Shnorhavorutiun Lucy!
Hello Dorothy Smalls wherever you are
Mmm, es idea mía o suena desafinado?
Great soloing by all! Bass sounds phat!! Cool vibe!
Hope you don’t mind if I Just SMH!!
Julius, are you not too hot in that Arctic outfit?
the band and singer swings as hard as the Count Basie Orch. My hat's off to Lucy.
BravoooooO !!!

Pure class! 🤩
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 Like this !Mark and Davis !
JK!!
That’s some… shall we say… *alternative* intonation by the sax player
It’s so relaxing
this is great!
I love! I love all! Thank you from France 🎶💕
Outstanding!❤️
I feel relax, thanks
Listened too much to Ella ;-)
Enjoying the melody! Well done :)
Music to my hears! Thank you :)
Loving this song, well done!
Coltrane stile😁
That a Tenor Sax. FYI
Ah thanks for catching that! It's been corrected..
Know what I mean?
Bass dragging bruh
Yep, and the drummer fumbles around and throws the piano player off. Not impressed with the sax playing either. Lucy's singing is the only thing that makes listening to this worthwhile.
Ella, elle l'a!👏👏👏
I want to like her. She tries too hard to be cool with an average voice.
where's your recording? I don't see it on your channel.
@@tissuepaper9962 Do I need one to have an opinion?
Check out her performance in a less stressed situation at Emmets Place channel and I bet you’ll change your opinion. Certainly on the trying to be cool bit of it.
@@MrGuto I will, thanks
@@MrGuto I like her better just not enough to pay to see her. Love Emmet, like Lucy.
Horrible melody by out of tune sax
Acceptance of music that sounds "wrong" takes time to develope . Jazz is not a western music. Intonation is culture based. Remember that music is the result of the vibrations of molecules. These vibrations originate from way out in the Universe and not only from our molecular structure here in our atmosphere. Check out Just Intonation compared to Tempered Intonation. Best vibes to you!
@@bobblues1158 blablabla
false fingerings give an "out of tune" sound. get over yourself
@@eeecol Horrible melody by out of tune sax
Yeah absolutely.. I like weird jazz and odd keys but out of tune is out of tune no matter what. For others in here, playing "odd" notes has nothing to do with being of tune lol
Whoa she is really vibing with it, awesome vocals!
listen to her now (2021), so much better even! She lost most of the awkward mannerisms. It is incredible difficult to bring Honeysuckle across at this slow tempo.
true, i sing it with different jazz groups and it's usually so fast
brilliant!
Thanks so much Simon!
Anybody got the sheet music for this piece?
Damn
Yes yes... an armonic scat! Fantastic!!
What model and brand of guitar is he’s playing on just curious?
This is D'Angelico EXL Deluxe in a matte finish.
Bravo
the real thing in 2021...impossible...so thankful... go ahead
Some songs are to be sung by men, some by women. Some songs will adapt, some really don't. This is one that doesn't really suit anyone but a man singing these lyrics. Doesn't matter if the performance is good, it is just not working, that is, if lyrics really are important at all, and of course, they are.
what is wrong with you lmao
@@elianaobrien1200 LYAO all you'd like.....Head firmly on straight here; what's wrong with you? I guess lyrics are simply ornaments or incidental? OK, not madatcha, you have zero taste, but that's OK, you're an "umerican."
It’s a good thing you’re here to tell all the great musicians of the world what they’re doing wrong. What would they do without you! Since you seem not to have an ear for music yourself, maybe switch to reading poems instead. Poems have lots of correct words, I think you’ll find you enjoy them a lot.
@@leobrahmachari6611 I have worked for decades with the top singers in the country. Singing is (at least) a two fold artform: the pure singing, (musicality, techniqued, tone, etc.) and there is a theatrical/acting component. If you are singing a song with lyrics essentially written for the opposite sex, the song can sometimes be adapted, and sometimes it really is best to leave it alone, if it's not adaptable. If one simply ignores that, and if anyone is actually listening to the lyric, the "acting" part is out the window, at the very least, if not creating a ludicrous cognitive disconnect. So, what are you saying, essentially?-- that people who know their own subject area, quite thoroughly, need not render an informed opinion? Singing is an artform in which a lot of talent is required, so much so that people with talent sometimes, and actually quite often, especially younger, perform without much actual background in the complete subject area, and may "get away" with some gaps in their performance, but true lovers of the artform are not going to simply give a "pass" on poor renditions. In the artworld, critics and connoisseurs are sometimes perceiving things the average listener might not, that doesn't make the criticism invalid. People are free to discard those more "informed" opinions, and often do. If you enjoyed the performance, great.
@@zdogg8 That’s a lot of words. I find that people that have nothing to say with their horn usually have a lot to say with their words. Go figure
Interesting camerawork and the music is great...
Great tune. Initially exposed to your band 🎶 listening to Sunday in New York. When and if things open up for live music, I'll check ✔ you out.
so very glad to have seen this channel! that was SUPER! ❤️ ~ Kristeta
