The United Young Adults (UYA) at St. James United Church in Montreal, Canada have actively been sharing our Free Hugs Ministry throughout our beautiful city! We began our ministy in April of 2007 on Easter Morning. Since then we have participated in the Ça Marche Farha Foundation AIDS Walk and the 2007 Gay Pride (LGBT) Parade. Look for us at the 2008 Gay Pride (LGBT) Parade as well!

I think that perhaps you don't fully understand the context here of the words "we do not need fixing" and "perfect" - Too often people have treated those who are "other" as less than human. Let's focus on the fact that only God can speak words to us about who/where we are and where we are invited to go -- who we are to be ... Ultimately language falls down between us because we bring ourselves to the text / to the conversation and forget to listen with our hearts instead of just our minds ...
