Gordon Dickie was the first chair of our tribe after restoration. Ada Deer was never our chair but the restoration committee. No disrespect but the truth matters.

You vote for sovereignty??????? You mean treason against the United States????? What a POS. We cannot undo the knots of history. Your people were savage people that killed other tribes for resources. Don't pretend your people were just peaceful and loving You know it is not true. Your tribe lost to more advanced cultures. Why not accept it and do your best to be happy, healthy and prosperous in 2022. This is not 1622.

I have to say having access to more of these videos would be a great beginners guide to acknowledge as well as understanding the culture. I have recently started working over at the College in Keshena and I feel this desire to learn more and show my respect and appreciation for such a family oriented culture. Thank you for sharing!

So close to ojibwe!!! Our people in the Upper Peninsula that are Ojibwe have admixture the Nooke people who were of Menominee nation. We should be learning along side Ojibwe this…..sadly neither is.

I heard it was sounded pay to kanun.. not spelled rite. But it sounded to me that way... love the vid.. trying to teach the kiddos... my son was so proud today that he knew a Spanish word today. I told him you know your tribe has its own language.. he looked at me confused.... so this vid is awesome 👌

If any viewers are going to make this dish at home, I would suggest using a stock. The banaha is traditionally made with ash, I try to use the product at the Menominee Food Distribution and teach techniques more so then recipes. Thanks for the support, you are my motivation. Any questions please reach out, if I do not have the answer we will learn together.
