Studio Set Up with Edelkrone JibOne, Pan Pro + Head Plus Head vs. JibOne, Pan Pro + DJI RS2
I recently got some motion control hardware for my personal studio. This is for interviews and just general motion to improve engagement and interest with the viewers.
Edelkrone is nowhere near the level of quality of a Mark Roberts Motion Control head or motion control gear, but is more affordable and I find you get what you pay for.
Toward the end of this you will see the DJI RS2 in action with the Pan pro and JibOne. More to be tested here.

Skydio 2 Crash in the first 20 minutes!
Переглядів 28 тис.4 роки тому
Took my new Skydio 2 drone out on a bike ride with my son and it crashed within the first 15 minutes! So bummed. Have been looking forward to this amazing drone for months and then this. First almost-crash is at 14:00 minutes, then goes down hard shortly after that. Really hoping that Skydio will honor a warranty claim. UPDATE: August 2020 Skydio denied my warranty claim. They claimed I should ...
Wolves among sheep, my man.
I guess Ill ask again for everyone that asked this before. Do you have any video of the RS2 or RS3 on the edelkrone JibOne? Seems like a better combo since you can double use the Ronin.
Hi Dan, thanks. How can I have let´s say 3 positions with the jib and HeadPlus and the PanPro with out pausing? I want a smooth movement from one position to the next. Even if I put the transition speed on 100 % it still pauses. Thanks.
Idk hummmm
Sounds like low light
Great, Thanks for your Top presentation...✌
I 1st saw your video about 1.5 years ago and still think about your video when thinking about buying this setup. I keep wondering if the Jibv2 fixed this jittering issues that your referred to in this video. Have you updated any of your setup since you made this video
My first flight ended in a crash, not too hard because it end in the grass and the battery popup and a prop broke. This happened while following my suv and I put some speed near some twigs. Looks like in some environments Skydio needs more time to sort out the route.
Hey thanks for this talk. I learned a lot on jobone and panpro +
So damn heartbreaking
It's a big wire. Lol 😆 imagine how big it is at 16mm zoom with internal processing trying to avoid all the trees that was a torture test.
I just purchased the 2 plus. Any quick advice or tips ?
To my untrained eye, I like how you look through the jib camera (WB and Exposure) than your main and side cameras. Thanks for showing your setup.
Edelcrone jib and gimbal
Beacon should be away from your body and away from signal emitting devices like a phone to work well
Didn’t drop down because of the floor height restriction to 8 feet? Yeah it’s amazing but avoid any thin objects. Lines or mesh fences. Also moving cars could hit it
Feel your pain. Power line took mine down too.
Best to have phone and beacon off body.... Like in a mount on the handlebars...
Any chance you will be posting a video of the setup for the Dji RS2 with the Edelkrone JibOne. I’m interested in how you got that to work and would love to see a test if possible. Great video. Cheers
An french Friend's buy a Skydio 2, crash it with a small branch in last winter, and Skydio compagny says no waranty cause it's fly and crashed in France...
Dan, thanks for making this video! Quick question. If I was filming by myself for hours, can I automate the movement for hours at a time? Thanks!
u sell it ?
Surprised you didn't crash it sooner, that was a ruined drone waiting to happen. I know it sucks for you, it's an expensive drone. IMO SD was right in denying the claim, if they replaced yours they'd go out of business replacing all the others that the owners ignored their warnings. That would put them out of business. The drone works fine if you keep it away from things it can't see.
With all the wires thick and thin all over the place it's no surprise to me that it crashed. I would have guessed much earlier though. You realize that you could have caused a short/fire? Who flies around power lines??
Thanks for a very good video on tall the parts of this. Buying a complete set now actually so researching after my bids on ebay.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice Vedio but you are giving BMX riders a bad name. You should not be riding on others people's lawns. That is not good riding responsibility.
You are right
thank you for the test!
You bet!
very impressive! Please let me know how warranty goes. thank you Larry
Question, so how much did you end up paying to fix it? I recently crashed mine the same way.
Poor drone! Just before the crash he presaged his lethal end so he hid and hang behind the tree begging you not to put him to death!
NO way it could see those wires, bro. Thin branches too.
My thoughts exactly
Skydio denying your warranty for flying over public streets is a crap excuse on skydio's part. There is nothing illegal about flying over public streets, it's only illegal to fly over moving cars.
Yup. Feel the same.
This same thing happened to me on my first flight as well, except it was the telephone line though. I think that the obstacle avoidance don't see the black lines as the same thing happened with my Mavic 2 Pro. Luckily, my Skydio 2 fell in some bushes and didn't break. I was able to clean off some dirt and fly again.
Makes sense. Yeah, we just aren't there yet but great to have all this tech right now. Pretty amazing.
same thing just happened to my skidio 2 last week. wish I would of seen this video before I flew it..... did they let you know if it could be fixed or was it a total loss?
Total loss. Had to replace.
I see two videos about skydio2 crash and both got the same problem, the powerline😢
Yup.
It can't see powerlines duly noted
Ok.
Awesome show case Dan, the best I have seen so far. Would you mind adding the links of the gears you are using ? Also I did not understand how you are automating the transition between cameras. Is that OBS command or stream deck or other device/software?
Thanks, Brother. I will post links when I have a bit more time. Pretty busy with filming. The automated transitions are part of SlingStudio as an auto switch setting in the app. I can set the time on each camera, and then if I want a dissolve or hard cut. Great system but hard to come by right now and support is lacking. I haven't needed support but just saying... I can also change the camera views manually and can do so with a hot key on the keyboard or I can use my StreamDeck on my desk which has those hot keys mapped to the buttons for ease. I mostly use the auto switch function so I don't need to sit here and press buttons. I don't get the exact transition times I want, but because SlingStudio is recording all feeds I can go in afterward in post and load all feeds and choose which feeds in what places in my editing software. Again, I don't bother as my workflow is "record, export, dump, edit, post" and more focused on quantity that perfect quality. Hope that helps.
@@danbrown2430 thanks Dan, if you are OBS user, try advanced scene transition plugin. This will allow you to transition automatically between scenes, create scene loop, and dictate the transition time etc. thus is useful for streaming. Here is the link on how it is done: ua-cam.com/video/lTQbudzu5JY/v-deo.html
