    Hey Dr. Michelle Alden, I saw the videos on your channel. Your video content is excellent. To grow & increase the view of your channel you need to optimize your videos. Inspite all of your efforts videos are not being viewed. Video SEO Score is very low. The title, Description, and Tags are not SEO-friendly. Videos are not shared on Social Media platforms and many other problems are found on your UA-cam Channel. If your channel is optimized a little and if the videos are SEO friendly then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. So immediately need SEO for your Videos & UA-cam channel. Do you want to improve those problems and grow your UA-cam Channel?

    girl, this video is terrible. I thought it would be about empathy and the internal experience of the child. Instead, you just frame neurodivergent children as deviants whose only goal is to ruin your day and mood.

  • @faiora

    The problem for a neurodivergent kid, much of the time, is that the “no” doesn’t make sense. It takes time to give an explanation every time, but for many kids that will help them figure out their internal struggle and emotionally regulate. Another issue is that neurodivergent kids are often given a lot less freedom of choice. We get used to saying no to them, and sometimes do automatically. Giving a thoughtful and fair explanation also forces you to consider whether it’s important to say no in that particular circumstance. I like the focus on doing things later that you say you will. Personally I set myself an alarm or a calendar item when I make promises. This gives my kids trust that I’ll follow through. My kids have never had the “later means no” response.

    Do you think opposition to No has todo with expectations strong likes or preferences and strong dislikes. This is something a lot of neurodivergent people struggle with along with abrupt transitions and sensory overload or overwhelm. I know for my sister who’s special needs and level 3 needs autistic if she gets an idea in her head about how something should go and she’s got a strong desire for that outcome and attached to it happening she gets fixated on that and won’t accept it can happen any other way. This is similar but different from when she’s got rules in her head about how something should go because she’s made little rituals around certain things she does. This tends to tie in but is also different from her sensory overwhelms or overloads she gets with taste, touch, smell, sounds, light, etc. all these can relate to her difficulty to listen to no. But understanding all of them helps deal with the root. But saying just no can still be very difficult with her. Any suggestions?

    • @healthyfoundations7631
      @healthyfoundations7631 5 місяців тому

      Yes it a strong like or dislike, but also lack of flexibility. A lot of vague answers like maybe, later or let me think about it, don’t seem as effective as a clear answer. Even if the clear answer is upsetting, a child can move on from this easier than stringing out a response and badgering a Parent for hours.

    • @healthyfoundations7631
      @healthyfoundations7631 5 місяців тому

      Also, knowing her rules can be helpful but also helping her to be flexible and see no may mean not now, but is a yes at 2:00 pm tomorrow. If there is a change in routine, she can be guided to work through changes and disruptions- I know that that’s what we normally do in the morning but today it’s gonna be different because you have a doctors appointment. See here on the schedule it says doctors appointment so we’re going to change the schedule this morning and do it like this. This helps to bring a sense of security because someone is still in charge and chaos is not happening just because there is a change. I find things written on the schedule help give that sense of security as well.

      Hi! I hear this a lot from kids and it’s not the response anyone wants to hear- not teachers, bosses or parents. So we work on a good response first. When someone tells you to do something a good response is yes mom, yes dad, yes sir etc. Sometimes you have to wait or delay what they want to do or what is next until you get a good response. Waiting - not repeating but waiting goes a long ways in moving toward a better response. Stand close, don’t talk and wait

    Hi Luv, it’s difficult for autistic folk going into adulthood and often they need a high level of support to get by. Sometimes we can get good grades and a good graduate degree but at the end of it struggle to get hired. Sometimes regular work can be over bearing and lead to depression then suicide unfortunately for many autistic people because they can’t meet up to society’s expectations for them to be a functioning adult. Often autistic people need in house support and financial support their whole life.

    Hi thank you for reaching out. Many of the kids I work with are aggressive. We address issues of safety right away in our 12 week program. I would recommend you have a safety plan in place - and then using tools outlined in the program or in my book - we work on de-escalation skills both with you as the parent (how to help her ) and with the child to get regulated

  • @ninamironova
    @ninamironova 8 місяців тому

    What information can you recommend for handling (literally) an aggressive but very strong child who is hitting or damaging the house? This is my biggest challenge. I need to stop the behaviour but my child is so strong it becomes physical if i have to take her to another room to calm down and stop breaking/hitting. I am out of ideas on how to manage these situations.

    • @healthyfoundations7631
      @healthyfoundations7631 Рік тому

      When you start to feel out of control that’s when you might then start trying to control others, the environment but at the same time losing control of yourself and your emotions and actions. Flip that around to gaining self control when it gets crazy and look to respond rather than react.

    Talking back? Throwing a fit? Do you mean the child is communicating their needs in a less than ideal way to adults? Perhaps there is an expectation gap. Isn’t behavior communication? Some of the things you listed (not wanting to put on a coat or shoes, or having an issue because they are hungry) fall under sensory issues. Shouldn’t we help them with that?
