Lovely! We're visiting at Xmas. Can you please answer a question about rainfall? I'm planning to bring one of those thin parkas that come in a bag. Would that be adequate do you think?
I walked about Funchal on Christmas day one year wearing shorts and a Tee shirt. I had a outdoor swim in the hotel pool on the same day. Madeira is a really beautiful place to stay ~ especially over Christmas and the New Year. Go for it.

Parga beach completely ruined by over priced sunbeds
Valtos beach had decent prices in my opinion. And acces to toilets and waitresses bringing beer I was happy to pay few euros.
I'm going to Nidri on Monday. On another youtube channel they showed that there is a wooden "walkway" just above the sunbeds on the beach. Is that all gone this year? Thank you xx
They were wooden pathways on the beach at least for some portion.
