Sight casting barramundi with a drone and crazy coral trout action
Переглядів 260Рік тому
This time we have another go at using the drone to sight cast salty Barra on the flats this is not an easy task as these fish can be quite wary. But we manage one fish. We also hit the deep blue in search of anything red and I dominated the coral trout again back to back trips with the chasebaits ultimate squid

Barramundi, I can’t get enough
Переглядів 297Рік тому
This time my daughter and I head to seaforth to fish for the mighty barramundi. As we were involved in the data collection to make this amazing place a net free zone it’s good to see a healthy population of all types of fish. This place is catching on to me and I’ll be spending more time here in the future.

HER BIGGEST BARRAMUNDI, out fished by my girlfriend
Nice share of a lot of vast experience mate 👏 👏 Spot on with the trolling view point 👎 😅 What’s your thoughts of the Jackson fr105 ? It is my go to lately (using upgraded hooks) and been very successful with a lot of good barra and versatile also with flats inshore reef fish (spango, trout, cod, gt, spanish), just curious if you have tried it ? Land based at creek mouths, headlands, shore over rocks, lagoons etc, i do like the long cast of the atomic slim twitcher 125 and duo realis 120, both nice action and caught good fish…?
Haven’t tried one yet but I’ll give one a go
Thanks for the tips. I'll keep an eye out for the lures before my Darwin trip next year
The Faust footage was awesome.
That wasn’t at Faust that was in the salt
@@Jmssportfishing Ah sorry mate, my bad. However still epic footage
All good a few people have said it
Nice work Josh, I enjoyed the video. Hinchy is an awesome place. It can be very heartbreaking as well.
I agree I believe you really need at least 3 day there, the first day I was dialling in trying to work out what was happening around the place. Obviously the Barra where shut down, saw more then I caught that’s why I went and focused on the flats
@@Jmssportfishing Good call, I have caught some good fish on the flats. A lot of Queenies lol If you ever head up again? drop me a line. More than happy to help out.
@Knightysfishing definitely will do
@@Jmssportfishing And you have a new Sub 👍
@@Knightysfishing thanks mate

Whitsundays
Those fucken paper wasp's kick ya arse every time bro! Nasty little fuckers!
Those lures May work a treat in Queensland but fishing the Kimberley’s the best all round lures I find are the 120 10+ classic red and black and the poltergeist 80mm in Arnhem Land I Use mainly Zman 4inch minnow
I have used heaps of classic lures in various colours and been dusted a few times on them but they can be hit and miss. Some days they are the only lure in the box to get a response other days it’s like they’re to loud and spook the fish. I didn’t include them because I feel they can be so hit and miss for me and all them hooks so many hooks lol.
I can’t even buy any of that lure from USA. The chase bait has used to sell lure on the USA and now they stop.
Which country are you from
@@Jmssportfishing USA
That’s really unfortunate as they are a great lure I hope you can find a way to get some.
Can you still buy the jackall sq..in Australia?@@Jmssportfishing
Sure can
You can get popping frogs from zman
Yes I’ve tried them and didn’t really like them the way I use the standard frog is more looked a fizz from the legs then an actual pop.

Yes @jmssportfishing
It doesn’t get much attention though maybe I’m not very popular
Great video do you do charters
Not exactly but I’m sure we could come to an agreement
Happy days brother...
Great video btw
Check out my others things have come a long way since this
I can’t believe he was screaming oh no each time he caught a fish, I alway say oh yes. You guys are obviously spoilt with fish, I whinge when I am not catching.
Awesome video mate!! can you show more sounder shots.
Will try to what do you want to know or see more of
@@Jmssportfishing just like to see how the fish look and the depth on the sounder and how you go about your drift also information about your set up. Cheers love the videos
My setup is nothing special it’s a lowrance HDS gen2 7 inch. Old as but does the job. Generally I’ll find a spot pull up and do a test drift to see which way we’re gonna drift then reset about 50-80m ahead so you drift straight over were you want. Takes a bit of practice and everyday is different
I’ll keep it in my mind and try to include it in my next offshore trip
Loved ya video Mate well done
Looks like a great day, what rod n reel combo’s did the trick.?
Mine is a Daiwa tatulion 200 HD on a Daiwa tatula 6-12 kg rod. James runs a shimano curado 150 dc on a shimano t-curve rod

Last week I got a barramundi 15 kg 😍
Hello safeer obviously the barramundi you get are wild these ones are in larges dams for irrigation purposes there’s a compony that breeds and stocks the dams with baby Barra. This particular dam holds lots of baitfish we call bony bream and the Barra grow big quickly
@@Jmssportfishing I catch barramundi from sea 🥰
