    On so many levels, this is by far the best InDesign TOC instruction on UA-cam! You are a natural born teacher. I loved the transparency when you struggled with a few items. It made me laugh because I struggled a lot with getting my paragraph styles to act right. You helped me get my TOC right once and for all. Thank you!🤩🤩🤩

    This is a great tutorial. However, it left one thing out: how do I upload an existing manuscript/cover PDF into the Blurb Indesign plug in? I created my book in Canva now I need to finalize the design in indesign

    • @LucasNajleTutorials
      @LucasNajleTutorials 11 місяців тому

      You have a couple options, you can use the blurb plug-in again once you have finished the pages file and you will be able to create a cover template directly under where you created the pages template. Once you have that you can copy and paste all the existing design into that InDesign file. Alternatively you can use the blurb plug-in to link an existing file as the cover. However this will only really work if it is an existing InDesign file that perfectly matches the dimensions of your pages document. I would recommend using the blurb plug-in to generate the cover as this will create the correct dimensions for both front and back covers as well as the spine of the book. The spine width will vary depending on how many pages you have so make sure to match the page count on the plug-in before you generate the cover template.

    Hey, Lucas! Thanks for the video! Couple questions: Do all the blurb page templates come through to indesign, too? If so, how do you access them? When ringing in photos what type of file offers the best resolution in blurb? Tiff? Jpg? Photoshop? Other? Thanks!

    • @LucasNajleTutorials
      @LucasNajleTutorials Рік тому

      Yes, once you download the blurb plug-in for InDesign you access it by opening InDesign, then going to file>blurb book creator. Make sure to create the file using this process so that you are always working in the right format for the final print. If you follow along with the video you will be in good shape. As far as quality, jpeg would be the worst option as these use compression to reduce file size at the expense of quality, tiff files are uncompressed so they will have the most quality. If you have already edited the images using photoshop you can save the psd file and place that directly into InDesign without creating any extra steps. This would give you the original resolution from the psd file. So if you have high res there it will be preserved all the way through to the print.

      Great question, Try clicking and dragging from the tab that has the view name at the top of the view. This will undock the view and allow you to resize it and move it around. Once you can do that you just repeat the process for the other views.

      The default preview mode in Rhino is a wireframe view. Change the preview mode of your viewport to “Shaded” for it to look like the video. At the top left of the viewport you will see a small triangle next to the name of the viewport. In this drop down you will see the names of all the preview modes.

    • @LucasNajleTutorials
      @LucasNajleTutorials 2 роки тому

      Felipe, yes you can do that but it can become a lot of work if you have many floors and requires re-doing at every element if you need to move the stairs. Instead you should try using a shaft opening and extend it through your model where the stair goes. This is also the topic of the next vide so you will see what I mean if you haven’t done it before. Love reading all your comments, dude. Keep on learning and growing! I’m here if you need me, peace up!
