The red cars and diecast raws were Lightning McQueens
Would have been cool to see inside the actual factory in Thailand. Oh well, it was a nice generalized view of how diecast cars are produced.
I haven't even finished watching this yet, but the intro's got me hooked, simply because the toys used for illustration aren't "basic 8!+ch" stuff. Like, actual somewhat new or good looking stuff, rather than someone's limited leftovers from the 70s or 80s.
Geez, it's called volume control! It's not a hot concept!!!
I love how it’s about hotwheels but not even a min in it shows matchbox. Same company yes but that’s like having a show about cola cola and showing sprite in b roll.
HELLO 👋 🍄I kitbashed my own figures.🍄👍 Will a company take that at my prototype/ presentation pieces???? TO BEGIN PRODUCTION???
Ohh I have a big collection, my favorites are the ones with spectra flame paint
Do you have any matchbox? We are covering those next
@ yes, but is not a big collection 🙁
This is how boring videos are made in 2025... no content here
Dc multiverse by Mcfarlane got me into collecting
Give me a day with that kind of available inventory. That would be a blast.
there's no way it's financially viable to hand paint all figures. that's fucking stupid. how do they REALLY do it? we all know how molds are made but it's the painting part on a mass scale that i want to know about although i'm sure there's a way with machines to precisely do it.
7:15 mark, when QC dept. had a long coffee break I guess? hehe. Coz, how do we explain the multiple error cards that turned out to be rare collectibles instead and got higher resell value due to that. In fact, I got a few of those too in my collections. Missing window, missing wheels, wrong orientation in blister (turned upside down), missing paint decals/tampos outside, you name it hehe.
I open my cars. I don’t have them in their cards.
So cool episode on this too. Fun facts: I am located here in Malaysia and had a chance to visit and see the source of Hotwheels mainline cars here in Penang, which is Mattel/HotWheels factory plant. For those interested to see, I had a vlog of that visit in my YTC. Happy Hunting!
My wish list, my own 3d printer. The possibility is endless.
amazing video, thanks for sharing .... proud to have few GI Joe's figz too and Transformers hehe. Of course not the OG ones.
"you won't believe how today's toys are made" "they are created using 3D design software." Unbelievable!
Haha they showed you everything but the Malaysia sweat shops
At 10:12, the video shows LEGO Star Wars minifigs in Kenner blister packs. LEGO minifigs weren't packaged like this and they certainly were never made by Kenner. 👎 Earlier in the video, the narrator says that Hasbro avoided the use of the word "toy" in marketing GI Joe. They didn't want to use the word "DOLL" because they didn't want to encourage boys playing with dolls. That's why GI Joe was called an "action figure". You have to be accurate in what you say and show on videos because some viewers will mistake any misinformation as gospel. Misinformation hurts the hobby. How many people are going to get psyched over the Kenner "LEGO" figurines that are shown? How many people are going to think Hasbro never referred to GI Joe as a toy? Which Hasbro did back in the 1960s as well as today.
Factories are in china, most of them with no quality control and poor materials. This video is only for moulds and prototypes
So, every figure is hand painted??? I don't see how that is possible. I mean thousands upon thousands of figures hand painted identical down to two tone colors in hair seems impossible to me.
This is nuts, I swear just yesterday I was wishing there was a video on this very subject!!!! I knew a little bit about it already, but I was thinking how cool it would be to work at a place that manufactured them seeing as I work in a factory. Problem is, I probably would get fired for swiping figures !!! LOL.
At their peak there was nothing bigger than Masters of the universe!! Even outselling Barbie.
My video was included in here. The Stormtroopers at the start. Cool vid!!
I miss the old GI Joes. I loved the mess kits. The tiny forks, the tiny spoons inside the nested bowls. Fantastic. 😄
Oh yes. the tiny utensils!
Yet so manytoy lines are crap once they hit the toy aisles…this video makes it sound like everything is perfect in the World of toys…well ,it is NOT!!!!
I've been collecting action figures and transforming action figures since i was 5, I'm now 46 and my collection is gigantic. I've never broke a figure or lost a single accessory so I still own every single one of the figures I've been collecting since I was 5, all of them are complete and even though some where played with they are all undamaged (as much the passing of time allow them to be). We're living in the golden age of action figure collecting, there are so many companies, lines and waves, of so many franchises from comics, games, movies, live action series, cartoons, animations, etc. There are also original designed characters belonging to universes created just for the sole purpose of releasing action figures, you have action figures from everything, even famous breakfast cereals characters from the 70's have action figures renditions. Action figures, transforming action figures, statues, figurines, urban vinyl, designer toys, model kits, trading figures, on so many scales, 1/12, 1/6, 1/18, 1/100, 1/35...!!!
Hot Wheels cars made in Thailand have the best quality. 🌝👍
I fully Respect ALL action figure Designers for Their Skill, Hard Work & Dedication. BUT, 3 3/4-4 inch Designers ARE the Best! They put alot of Effort & work twice as hard to create a smaller figure with full details & articulation. For those Reasons, I Love the 3 3/4 scale.👍🏾 Just my opinion.
Totally agree. And the confidence to decide, hey we are going to make them this small to fit in little kids hands?? Amazing
I still buy them… any time i go to the supermarket or to a department store, I’ll grab a few… they’re beautiful, durable and beyond fun… and I have three kids of my own…lol!
Meanwhile in brazil ONE action figure can cost r$ 80,00 to r$ 3000,00.
Between Transformers and TMNT were Masters of the Universe... Big gap there...
this kind of glib mindless writing is so annoying
Seems fo be a lot of a.i in this video. Lots of pics, the voice, the script. Feel like this whole video has been written out using chatgpt. It doesnt feel natural
So this is how action figures are DESIGNED. I want to see how there MANUFACTORED in mass quantity.

I've still have some car's from when I was a kid in the 80's but started back collecting 16yrs ago. I have about 3,000 car's and counting. A fun hobby but scalpers hoarders and flippers are starting to ruin it.
The transformer ruled all of the toys in every century.
In the 1960s Hot Wheels jumped over Matchbox. Well, guess what? In the 2000s the Asian companies have leaped over Hot Wheels in engine detail, scale, proportions, wheels. Mini GT, Inno64, PopRace, Kyosho, Tomica Limited Vintage to name a few...The only collectors that concentrate solely on Hot Wheels are Americans (usually old guys who were born in the 60s and 70s) who don't know that there are countries outside of America. HW knows about ramped up competition so they try to justify increased prices by starting a club where membership fees are demanded, but the cars are still out of scale, lack the detail of the Asians and use house wheels. And there often aren't enough cars to meet the demand of the members that pay extra to get the cars. HW starts a club, requires a membership fees, knows how many members there are, but still doesn't produce enough cars for members. Huh? Hot Wheels simply laughs all the way to the bank.
I always wished i can see how 70s star wars figures and ships were made and packaged! There were no computers to print anything
It begins with sculpting by hand.
No feature of Masters of the Universe in the video? Hmm... 🫤
Noted! Those figures are next up!
Did a "Alternate 1985" to skip over Mego. I realize LJN was a "Rookies"/"S.W.A.T."/"Emergency" niche market, so it'd be a nice piece of trivia.
Hotwheels before 🗿hotwheels now 💩🤡
The majority of the hasbro faces are printed 3d printed in color or painted with a inkjet technology to nail the likeness, those heads are not hand-painted! You're showing silicone molding techniques when talking about the production of metal molds in the factory ahah😂
I think those were prototypes.
cool
Finally a pooptube channel tackles indepth the fascinating, greedy, cutthroat, unscrupulous, neanderthal, backsliding, backstabbing, grotesque, myriad of the toy action figure dolly industry.😂❤
I was really hoping this would explain exactly how they are painted in the factory. NO! They are not hand painted by artists. The paint would never stick. I want to know how they get the paint to stick so even soaking it in 100% alcohol for a full day or two has absolutely no effect. I used to be able to remove the factory paint by soaking it in alcohol. But not anymore. They figured out some way to make the paint permanent. Now instead of removing the paint, the only option is to paint over it. I've been wanting to know how the companies and factories get the paint to stick. I've been trying to find out for decades. I may never know. The best I can do is sand the plastic first so it's rough so the paint has something to grip & hold on to as it dries. I'm a toy customizer & getting the paint to stick, especially in the joints has been the biggest hassle.
They are painted by all means, hand painting, spray with mask, and also a thing called tampo, which is a stamp. The reason the paint sticks so well is that it chemically bonds with the PVC, It's all about whatever secret formula they use in the paint.
You can use acetone very carefully to remove paint, just dabbing it with a q tip, then wipe it off. If doing a full repaint you could put a Matt of grey on figure then repaint. It matters what brand of paint you use. I’ve made a few custom figures by repainting and paint stuck the first time with no issues for Hasbro and MCFarlane toys figures.
Most insert molded joints are made from POM or Nylon, which are stronger materials that can withstand the abuse. Insert molded joints are usually used in the shoulders, elbows, knees, wrists and ankles of most figures. If you can't see the pin holding the joint, it's most likely an insert molded joint.
Yeah except for the fact this doesn't happen, its all made in a machine and its painted by machines yknow MISPRINTS
Mmm.. i was pretty sure action figures were manufactured by underpaid chinese workers in hightly automated factories..
lol you are about 15 years behind the times. Sweatshop in China is a thing in the past. China in fact enjoys the fastest and largest wage increase in the world in the past 20 years. Now factories and companies in China have to provide free accommodations, free staff meals, health benefits and sometimes even tuition fees for their children just to attract and retain workers. Go UA-cam a tour of factories in China, they are now using some of the most advanced robotics and technologies. If you want to find modern sweatshops, look no further than American Amazon warehouses, American farms with underpaid migrant workers in Texas, or prison slave labor working at fast food chains in Alabama for $2.50 an hour.
Same here
@@devilhunterredbro you missed the point here..
Lies
@@devilhunterredThere is still heavy use of slave labor in China. Mostly from the Muslim minority. Although plenty of prison labor and the like. The worst of it though has been moved out of China into Vietnam and Indonesia and I suspect it's on its way to Africa next
A.i, okay I'll admit Some or few Action figures are great when it comes to likenesses. I'm not looking for perfect action figure to the likeness of the actor whom played the character, I'm looking for Good action figure that has the character just right. Wether it be If Few or some figures have mis paint aps or limit articulation; there's been several different toy lines for star wars action figures over many generations. Past 50 yrs. Same goes for Toy Story, there's been many buzz and Woody's since the first ones in 1995. And same with transformers and g.i Joe and turtles. Star Trek, same. Spider man and venom the same. There's been one or few Tobey slash Andrew spideys one or few times in the 2000's and early mid 2010's. There have been many Gojiras and King Kongs. What you won't find anymore is Terminator or Alien or predator. Or Battlestar Galactica, or thundercats or the other movie tie in toy lines. It's once occasion you'll maybe find one certive time character they don't make anymore then the other stuff stays on shelf and waits get bought by someone. I got lucky building my star wars slowly for the past 8-9 yrs since 2017. I remember time when I found Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker bespin and the original characters I wanted for my assortment. I tried get them close being all but I didn't finish it. I got very close. And now I'm reverting building my retro collection and instead of my modern collection. I love all them. I'm not gon build all of my retro I'm going do half of it and add the characters that are missing and then call it day n go have cup of tea and watch the sun. Look how many buzz lightyears I have, I don't have that many Woody's and I only have 2 Zurgs. What start my collection is that 1954 neca Gojira, my 2014 Godzilla and my venom and spider man figures from diamond select & my original obi wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader from revenge of the sith. The rest is history. Thank you! And good day!--Ant.
I have 285 DC multiverse McFarland figures
Thats awesome
Did they improve the quality of their ankle joints, I used to collect them as well. Now most of them keep tumbling down even with stands
fun fact ! @3 min in the step side silverado and the car above it are in fact matchbox and not Hot wheels.😁 just something i noticed, I know it's B reel and all, so whoever did it probably didn't know.
