Beautiful day with SCDA at Lime Rock. This was a fun session trying to keep pace with a really fast GT3 Cup car. Ran a number of 59s, with the best 59.1 on lap 15. Ran out of gas at the end and coasted up the hill and in!!! Car is 489whp running used Pirelli DH slicks take-offs.

Club day for fun. Big thank you to the track staff for the lunch and waters! Ran a personal best trying to chase down the FP350s race car in front of me! Car is 489 WHP, running used Pirelli DH slick take-offs that also had a full day up at Mid Ohio on them prior to this event. Then the exhaust downpipe weld broke on the white flag lap.

Beautiful track! Great day with COM Sports Car Club. Sorry no lap times on screen (flaky GPS), but the transponder had me at a 1:51.3 on the last lap (out lap, plus three laps timed). There is time to be had here in a couple of spots. Maybe next time I'll have the cajonas to do it right!

Second time at this epic track as a lucky guest of a friend. I LOVE this place. The surface is amazing and the off-camber and elevation changes make the track a unique challenge. GT350 is not stock. Has a wing and splitter, FP springs and swaybars, race pads, camber plates. Stock motor, but a very strong one!

Were you the first owner?
Yes. Are you the guy who bought my car?
I heard you didn't mesh with the car. She was my dance partner. Miss her.
That was my first and only time at Lightning. There are other laps from other tracks posted....
My friend is technically the third owner I guess? He’s been trying to talk to the previous owners for a backstory for it. We’re talking about making a few videos of the resto process. Care to talk on the phone about it?
@@rocktherapy5464 delete it. I saved it
Great driving buddy!! Loved it! Just sub'd!
@316racingchannel9 wow! You did sub 2 min!!! I have to watch that now! Nice!
Wow. Great time. I have done a 1.52 in a mach 1. What are your mods. You are flying!
Thank you for your comment! The car was pretty heavily modified. Camber plates, slick tires, weight reduction of 300 lbs, Ford performance springs and swaybars. AP Racing brakes, rear camber arms. Front splitter. Canards, and rear wing.
I think the crazy one was the 350. It stayed right behind the Porsche 😮
Scariest track I’ve ever been on - well done Sir. She sounds amazing and sticks nice very smooth 👏
Thank you! I appreciate that. It's a scary track but a fun and challenging one!
Great job! Beautiful laps. Thank you for posting.
You are crazy fast through there nice job! I love the clockwise set up.
Sounds amazing!
You aren't keeping your car in the power band, that's why the R walked away from you. And the weight difference was exaggerated as a result.
I've been thinking about joining the LRDC. Did you like the Lime Rock track and facilities?
Nice track but zero overtaking opportunities.
there are 2 straights and if you faster you can take multiple lines into the left hander.
@@icsamerica I know but on this track you can overtake only if one car is significantly slower than the other, otherwise if the cars have similar performance it is almost imposible to overtake. Those 2 straights are very short.
Right on that Corvette's arse ... and for far less cashish as well.... Love my 2020 GT350 and look forward to my first track day on Thompson with Cup 2 Tires. Very nice video and great driving ... you do Shelby proud ...
Awesome driving brother .. many much more expensive cars do not have your lap times ... and one has to have balls to drive any car at speed. I happen to be heading there Saturday with my 2020 GT350 Signature Edition with a brand new set of Cup 2 tires .. time trials ... great drive brother !!!
Man great to see these cars can handle a track this way.
Sounds awesome. Im heading there in september did they give you a hard time about the sound level of your car?
Yes. I had to add baffles to the tailpipes. So make it quieter if you think it's an issue. The track staff are cool. They will work with you.
Curious, what pads are you running at the track?
Ferrodo Ds 3.12
nice run! question? Heel-toe 4th to 3rd is the only shift into big bend? 4th gear rest of the track?
Great stuff! I hope you have found your way back on the track. Every time I watch these videos I become stoked about returning to this track this year...so many days planned!
Thanks Corey! I sold the GT350 and I miss it. But the replacement car, a 2022 BRZ will be fun. I'll be back at mid Ohio this season. Heading to VIR for the first track event with the new car in 2 weeks!
@@rocktherapy5464 I have days booked through Auto Interests in May through September and will probably be there with Chin in May, too, and possibly NASA in April. Shoot me a message, if you make one.
Consistent apexes.
Great vid & driving, can’t wait to get my GT350R out on a track.
just so ya dont get too ahead of yourself.....that GT3 was playing with you.
Yeah. It was a gt3 cup car actually. With Continental slicks. Driven by a 70 year old guy. He rocks it.
Damn! Clean ass driving man! But I was even more surprised that the program you're using is only $60 for the full version! That's dope!
Love the digital dash overlay... if I may ask, what all were you using to get that besides the RaceRender software?
That was just my cell phone and Race Render. But I prefer the AimSolo2 DL paired with A smartycam. Much more accurate and easier to use.
Oh yeah, also OBD Link. Bluetooth.
@@rocktherapy5464 Oh wow this was straight up done from your phone! That's even cooler! So I'm assuming (haven't read up on the software yet) that there's a mapping mode you enable that maps out each track as you drive around them?
What tires are you running? They're so sticky! Hitting 75mph on T2 is crazy.
Those were Pirelli DH slicks very well used for 4 previous track days.
That is an extremely fast time I’m that car! Stock with slicks?
Not stock. Used pirelli slicks
Regardless that is very fast, good job.
Will you be there on Mon 7/12-13 and/or Mon 8/30-31? I’m on the waiting list for July advanced class and locked in for August. Last time I was there I had total brake failure in my white 991.2 GTS Manual but just got a new setup that I’m very excited to use. So on stock Sport Cup 2s with a simple tune and upgraded brakes I hope to run 2:07s. I have no idea what I ran last time bc my brakes felt like shit and I wasn’t up to timing myself, I only got about 17minutes of driving in all of which were crap.
Btw do you think if you risked it you can get through the S’ flat?
@@mach5zx10r yes, absolutely, if I had bigger cajones.
Love it. Just running the piss out of it. Exactly what your supposed to do. A little effort on internal upgrades could have saved him an engine or two!!
Lol! Thanks. The first engine went due to a cracked block from an imbalanced flywheel from the factory. Second engine cyl 8 ringlands. Known issue ford fixed with the voodoo 2.0, which is in the car now and has been perfect. Not to mention 600 mile oil changes...
There's my clean point by in the Green Camaro hahaha. Cool to see your lines man. Hope to see you soon at a COM event.
Hey Mike! Thanks for the note. I'm selling the Mustang, so next time you see me at the track it will probably be in a momentum car...
@@rocktherapy5464 are you a Miata guy now or a Porsche man?
A cayman might be the thing. Or a BRZ.
2022 new BRZ
@@rocktherapy5464 consumables will be cheaper that's for sure.
Funny - that’s me in the Ferrari. In my defense, I’m not very fast. My first trip to Pitt. Great track. Those are some great laps. Very consistent too. Hope to see you out there again.
Thank you! I love your car. It was a fun day. Be safe!
Certainly not about outright speed on open track days. Having a blast driving around with like-minded drivers in some great cars and enjoying yourself. Props to you for using your Ferrari like it was designed, instead of sitting in a garage gathering dust. Well done.
Nice driving. you going to be there this year for memorial day weekend event with Chin?
Thank you! I was planning on it but have to sell the car now for financial reasons. I wish I could be there!
@@rocktherapy5464 its an awesome car. You’ll do well. Eventually, you’ll be back out there bro
Thanks for the video. I am going there in a couple weeks for the first time. I have a racing exhaust and am a bit worried about the noise limit a Limerock. Curious if that cup car had mufflers on. I get about 85 db inside the car so it might be close. Any thoughts? Thanks, again.
We were there on an unmuffled day. You might want to get 2.5" muffler inserts for the loud side of each muffler.
@@rocktherapy5464 I thought that wouldn't work because my pipes are an odd size (2.75 inch), but you inspired me to look again and I found some. Having them made for me now. Thanks for the advice.
@@Declan4253 so welcome my man!
Nice laps dude! What cold psi did you start off with in the am with the dh's? I picked up a set of scrubs for watkins glen next month and I'd imagine itll be in the 40s for the first session. I've read people say start with 22-24psi but that seems low in cold temps. Thanks!
Thanks for the note! You'll love those tires once they warm up. I usually start at 25 first session then bleed off the excess at the end if the heat. Targeting 29 to 30 hot. I don't have the patience to start lower and gradually pick up pace over more laps, but you could. They are incredibly tight on the bead.
Haha yea I dont have the most patience either so I'll try 25 out too then, thanks. Just saw your your 2:01 at watkins glen, holyyyyy shit that's seriously fast man.
@@ckeels724 Thanks! Love the Glen!
that looks like a fun as hell road course.

Thank you! I'll be back here and at Mid Ohio in May. VIR in Feb. Maybe see you out there.
Great run man!
what tire you running they are noisy
Yeah, those were the stock OEM Pilot Super Sports. I run Pirelli DH slick take-offs now. More recent videos like limerock, Watkins Glenn and Thompson all on the Pirellis
@@rocktherapy5464 where do you get access to buy the tack-offs?
There is a race car fab shop shop in MA that has IMSA clients. I get them from him after his clients have run them for one race or so.
Frisbee tire is the distributor if you want new ones.
@@rocktherapy5464 yeah I wish, imsa left Utah years ago
Looks like a really fun road course. I see some baby Spa elements.
Any mods done to your car? Nice lap times!
Yes, plenty. Weight reduction, Ford Performance springs and swaybars, AP Racing brakes up front, camber plates, Watson roll bar, harnesses, racing seats... etc.
If you are ever back at the track again, message me, I fly FPV racing drones. And I'm local. Can follow car at 100 mph while taking 4k video.
Very nice! Those are some quick laps around a great track
Thank you. Selling the car if you're interested :-)
Rock Therapy I have one of my own. Best of luck with the sale.
I know :-) We met at the CHIN event at the Glen. I was being campy, but it I really am selling it!
ever replace the engine? Any engine/exhaust mods? ---yoU drivin the car the way it should be!! thanks
Hunter Logan I had the engine in my 2016 GT350 rebuilt a couple times. Tons of mods. Full Kooks exhaust, sleeved block, coated custom pistons, VCTs deleted, better rods, Valves, larger oil pan, upgraded oil pump gear, etc.... but I crashed that car. So now my 2019 GT350R is still on the original engine with no mods
Amazing lap as usual buddy. Absolutely flying
Thank you Brandon. You as well, beautiful run in the Vette.
Nice driving Erik. As always haha (this is Brandon by the way)
Hi Brandon! Thanks! Now I can go scout your videos too!! Erik
Toms fast but you were faster. Better lines. :)
Very well done!! My best time that day was a 1:40.216 in a much lighter car. I sure could use some of your HP!
Hi Mark and thank you! You were FTD as I recall! No more power for you!!! Looking forward to Thompson in a couple weeks! Going to be there with the Atom?
@@rocktherapy5464 Hi Erik. I wont attend any events till they stop all this mask wearing Covid crap. I get to Whiskey Hill at least once a week, where we have NO viruses. Ill look forward to the video!
Great lines! Headed to Thompson for my first time this weekend for SCCA TTNT! This was a great video to watch someone running a fast, yet safe line 🙌💯 Nice driving. How gutted is the interior of your 350? Sounds pretty loud in there and I noticed the missing headliner
Hi and thanks for the props! The dash is in place and everything behind it. This was run with the carpet and headliner and plastics removed. I've since removed the door panels, side airbags and passenger seat. 3,750 with driver.
@@rocktherapy5464 nice 👌 I managed a 1:21.4 last weekend. Daily driven, street car on 220tw Goodyear SC3 tires! Had a theoretical of 1:18 flat. Lots of improvement left on the table, but super happy with where I ended up for my first trip to TSMP 🤙See you out there sometime maybe!
Hey erik its chris from lrp with the blue 1le are you heading back to Thompson the 27th with scda?
Hi Chris. Not heading to Thompson. Going to Watkins Glen the next weekend with Chin. Great to meet you at LRP! I will be at Thompson again with COM later in July though.
Ah lucky I'd rather be heading to the glen, good luck dude.
awesome driving man! cant wait to get mine on the track for the first time... what organization do you run with?
Any brake fade or issues? Also what year? We are hitting the next Tnia Thompson with our gt350. I loved it with my c7
I have AP brakes, so no fade. With the stock brakes and race pads, you should be fine. High-temp race pads.
Tires? Upgrades?
Brakes are AP, smaller than stock to accommodate 18 inch wheels. Camber plates, camber links, 3.5 degrees negative camber all around. Used Pirelli DH slicks - take-offs. Watson roll bar, racing seats, 6-point harnesses. Engine has an intake and no cats. Tuned to 489 WHP.
And APR wing and splitter! Important...
Nice driving. I just sold a 2007 GT500, best time at Mid-Ohio was 1.42. Bought a 19 GT350R and looking forward to sub 1.40. What tires are you running?
Thank you. Hope you have good luck with the new car. I'm running used Pirelli DH slicks, take-offs. 305/680/18.
So could you not find 19 inch tires in the model you wanted? Just trying to find out why you switched to 18 inch wheels.
Also did you run the Cup 2’s? If so, what was your experience with them.?
@@meterman87 Exactly. I could never find the slicks used in 19", and a local source for the 18" tires became available. It was a cost savings over time to switch to 18" wheels ans the AP brakes. Not to mention, the AP brakes are A world better than stock brakes.
@@meterman87 I've used up a few sets of them and I think they are the best street tire for our cars on the track imo. Compared to the Toyo R888r, the SC2 performs about 2 seconds better on A minute and a half track.
