The Senate seemed to be more like the UN General Assembly, a collection of senators who are delegates of their various world governments, some might well be elected, but others represent species with all kinds of biologies and psychologies from insectoid hive minds to herbivore herds to human monarchies. It's not exactly clear the the republic IS a democracy or could be, being neither centralized enough nor elected enough nor comprising a populace with enough in common at these very basic thought levels to operate as a single demos, nor is there much evidence that it ever did so, or even that all of its member societies could be considered anything resembling democracy when this would often be fundamentally alien to them. Even when most or only human worlds in the past, it seemed to be an oligarchy with federal qualities, at the most. None of which is a bad thing for a galaxy spanning alliance of diverse peoples and beings, but it in no way represents anything hitherto meant by the term democracy. Also, the Jedi have in the past ruled as feudal lords, presently operate as a monastic military order at arms length from the government, and deemed themselves empowered to alter it by force. Of course, Obi Wan also represents an order that deals in moral absolutes, spouts them himself, opposes a Sith order that is morally relativist to existentialist standards, and proceeds to say that only a Sith deals in absolutes as though we have not been listening for two hours to what the Jedi Council and Palpatine are actually saying.

Since you had it done, pain never come back again? I am looking at all the options on the table. Pain keeps coming back and this time, it is on my left arm, behind my shoulder blade. And my right elbow. It's hard to raise my left arm. Sometimes on my right arm too. I just want to end it permanently. Hope you can tell me more.
