Thanks. This was a great video! I like the positive perspective of the green flags. It is refreshing
im about to pull the trigger.. 48 and my stock in Tesla is 3% from doubling this year. next year to the next 5 should be the same.. House is paid off - no car payment.. I could live my current life style for 47k per year (i including adding private insurance) I could pull 100k out and grow by 900k per year at the current rate. It wont always be as high but dont see less than 30% per year..
Hi. Here is a much simpler way to be dynamic with your monthly withdrawals in conjunction with fully-funded emergency & sinking funds that’s worked extremely well for us during early retirement: On the 1st of every month look at the total of all retirement accounts, multiply by 3% (or whatever you’ve chosen to comfortably cover planned monthly expenses), and divide by 12. That’s the amount we bring over to checking for the month. When the market’s up, you have a bit more. When the market’s correcting, you have a bit less. 😊
Boring boring boring. Elucidate on some real/crystallized numbers so viewers can relate and grasp
What software are you using? Thanks for the video!
Thanks! Income Lab
Gee… I plan to spend 60k a year in retirement… have no idea what 15k + extras per month looks like…
10K after tax/month likely means 14k per month.
I am leaning towards hybrid growth and various high yield income etfs
If your house is paid off? Easily in a normal state. In California? Only if you have a side gig. $160K a year in CA is middle class.
As a legal immigrant and Trump supporter I see good things ahead
Do this video over without the pension so that it is relevant to most of us out here who want to spend 10K/mo after tax
Inflation is the biggest factor by far. If Trump does most of what he says he plans to regarding tariffs and deportations, there is major risk of high inflation the next few years. When the stock market dips down 20 or 30 percent, it often recovers well in the following five years, but when there's high inflation it typically becomes the new norm and affects the next 5, 10, 20, 30 years of someone's retirement.... In other words, we rarely see significant deflation to neutralize it. If the stock market dips 30% it would suck for retirement accounts, but not nearly as badly as if we see another 30% of inflation over the next two years, on top of the 20% or so that we've seen the past couple years. I'm all for big changes to immigration, fixing it so that legal immigration is more functional and further illegal immigration is not allowed, but if millions of people are deported each year, on top of skyrocketing tariffs, there's a huge risk of high inflation, which is very detrimental to all middle-class Americans, whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent.
Here on YT there are tons of CFP gurus pushing their product. Just cut to the chase. I went to your One degree Advisor web site. How are you paid? should be changed to what is your fee structure? They’re all the same either AUM,flat fee or hourly simple.
Almost sounds like he's preemptively ruining people's finances.
I have watched tons of finance videos for years. If you disclose the fees from the beginning what type of CFP hourly, flat fee or AUM. I think this will give a leg up because no one does it in the first video.
The music is soft to me not annoying like some others.
Trend follow the prices of a diversified basket of assets. See Faber papers.
Good good information not just telling people to do roth conversion like most financial gurus do.
Regarding Trump’s 2024 election: I no longer have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. If I help him, he's going to help me.
We'll see about that.
@ damn right, damn straight
You honestly believe what you just wrote. Politicians don't care. Go take a trip to Atlantic City and see how little Trump cares for yourself.

Made decent returns last 4 years in my investments. I recently shifted my investment allocation "a little" more into cash equivalents. Even before Trump won, Warren buffet thought stocks were overvalued and did the same thing. Now there are some saying we are facing inflation and recession and turmoil in 2025-2026 under Trump. Maybe, maybe not, there are always people forecasting doom, but I decided it is best to lock in some gains I made, and be more conservative... for now.
You are sensible & not greedy. As Mr. Buffet said: Be fearful when people are greedy, be greedy when people are fearful.
I’m worried that I can’t find a health insurance that guarantees I won’t get kicked off if something happens. With ObamaCare, as long as I pay my monthly dues, I have coverage.
What about Obamacare when it is attacked ?
He’s calling it ACA
I’m worried about retirement planning and I want to ensure a comfortable future. I’ve worked hard my entire life and I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor without financial stress. I’m really concerned about whether I’ve saved enough and invested wisely.
I completely understand. Ensuring financial security in retirement is crucial. Have you considered consulting a financial advisor?
Yes I have. But I don’t know who exactly to trust to provide the right advices and guidance for me.
True. I have been in contact with a CFA that specializes in retirement planning. His expertise can help optimize your savings and investments.
Who’s this CFA? And how can I reach out to him?

Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular. They are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skills/knowledge to pull such trades off.
@WilliamsJulians Please can you leave the information of your investment advisor here? I'm in dire need of one.
@WilliamsJulians Thank you for this Pointer. It was easy to find your handler, She seems very proficient and flexible.
I would love to see an example with a couple with 3-4 mil at age 60 comparing taking the 3.75% inflation increase yearly versus every 2 or 3 years. We don’t currently get any cost of living raise now so we don’t expect to take a cost of living increase EVERY year in retirement either. Curious of the impact on a portfolio taking this strategy. Thanks
Overall, 60% of traders think this year would favor stocks, mutual funds, and other equity-based investments, despite Treasury yields and other safer cash-like investments paying big. I’m looking for opportunities in the market that could fetch me $1m ahead of retirement by 2025.
Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience. If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.
@@BogumilTanski I agree. Based on personal experience working with an investment advisor, I currently have $480k in a well-diversified portfolio that has experienced exponential growth. It's not only about having money to invest in stocks; you also need to be knowledgeable, persistent and have strong hands to back it up.
@@JasonsHortons How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional who helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.
@@MercuriosBakers The beauty of MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY approach is her dual focus: while aggressively pursuing profit opportunities, she's equally tenacious about shielding investors from potential pitfalls. It's a balance few can achieve.
@@JasonsHortons Thank you for this tip. it was easy to find your coach. She seems proficient considering her résumé.
Yeah. A pension. Just like most people have these days. You forgot to include my goose that lays golden eggs into your calculations.
Because everyone has over a million in retirement funds. There should be a separate youbtube platform.....
My dude wants to retire early without funds. Lmao
How about this same video showing what it takes for someone planning to retire at normal retirement age - 65 - 67 - 70?
A modification of the semi-retirement is to purchase cash flowing assets during the work years. This allows less reliance on drawdowns of funds saved and blends savings with income produced with modest effort (vs paid for time spent).
Also is dividend E.T.F.s. live off the dividends and never have to sell the stock to live off of.🎉👍🏾👍🏾
Makes sense. Clear, concise summary of 3 different options.
I've read about what Michael Kitces calls a "Ratchet" rule, where you start conservatively, but increase the withdrawal rate/amount over time if the balance continues to grow. The problem I have with this is that I can spend a lot more early in retirement than I'd be able to do later in life. Giving me permission to spend when I no longer have as much to spend it on isn't very helpful. What you are describing here as a dynamic spending plan gives someone more capacity to spend early, while having the guardrails to prevent a long-term issue with cash-flow.
At 6:28 - for the math nerds, is there a description of the formula used to calculate the upper and lower guardrails along with how changing the probability of success at 8:09 moves the spend rate up or down? I assume this is very straightforward doing this manually a couple times per year just for yourself but would be tedious doing it as part of a firm with dozens of clients.
There’s simpler calculations with Guytons Guardrails. This is a pretty comprehensive software that will include other cash flows, longevity, taxes, etc. Here’s a good article for math nerds: www.kitces.com/blog/risk-based-monte-carlo-probability-of-success-guardrails-retirement-distribution-hatchet/

lol bonds. And, it’s ridiculous that having $4mil USD in the bank doesn’t guarantee long term wealth. Your government is destroying your wealth. Inflation is wealth deflation.
Tell all your friends….we can’t stop people flooding our borders by the millions to get in.
I have always said, "I'm going to do this when I have more time." Maybe I was ready to retire in my 20's and just didn't know it!
Yes yes yes yes yes. I'm 44. 😮
That’s young!! 😮
I'm 46, 11 months into retirement now. I strived to get out of the work force as soon as I got in. The hardest part of the leave was the loss of coworkers and structure throughout the day, but that was overcome rather easily once I figured out I'm in control of whatever I want to do. Freedom at its finest.
@@allidrev I think I won't miss the coworkers (in India on the phone). But I would miss the mates of the company sports team (which are no direct coworkers but just sports mates).
@@InspektorDreyfus Make the leap when you can. Life is short.
A pension?? HAHAHAHAHAHA
As someone in a 2 Pension household the lack of Pensions has altered the dynamics of retirement saving, investing and spending in a big way. Should the value of a Pension be included in a Net Worth Calculation ? I assume Pensioners can spend more than the 4 pct rule ?
Based on my current lifestyle and expenses, $200k would be enough for me to retire, especially if I owned my own home. However, I might aim more for $500k-$600k just to ensure a more comfortable retirement and have more breathing room
I mean what's so difficult? Just live off the dividends and not sell any stocks
This scenario seems to be a mirror of mine once I get to 60 years old. Thanks Matt.
Great info. Just curious if it would be better off for one of them to take SS earlier?
pensions don't exist anymore. unrealistic.
