Our Peace of Georgia
United States
Приєднався 4 січ 2023
We are relatively new to acreage and decided to document our projects on our homestead.
Our homestead is a fresh palette. Every day, we do something to enhance the views on our property.
These views bring us peace, even on a challenging day.
We are also new to this empty nesting thing. It's not an easy feat after 30 years!
We look to be partially sustainable someday.
We have two miniature schnauzers, 5 hens and two tortoises.

Happy day if you’re a chicken!
We were splitting wood on this beautiful day and found a bunch of grubs. We cannot let them go to waste, right?

Just a gal, fixing a tire on Husqvarna 248XD
Переглядів 939Місяць тому
Filmed 9/1/24 Again, I apologize for my absence. I've been nursing a back injury the last few months. As a result, I've not been doing much along the property. Meaning, I am really trying not to overdo it! We've also been doing some traveling. I was out mowing in mid August and the bead came off the front left tire. I am determined to fix this myself!
Another Project A Koi Pond?

This content was filmed June 18th-23rd 2024. I know...I meant to upload this two months ago! Here we are starting the Koi pond. As of this upload, we (meaning me) still need to finish laying down rocks. Oh and also buy Koi...for the Koi pond

Ruby is our 12 week old torti kitten. She’s been with us 4 weeks. We are introducing her to the outdoors. Sorry for being absent. We’ve not spent much time outside. I can deal with high temps with low humidity. Once you introduce extreme humidity…NOPE! #chickens #kitten #homesteading

Credit for DIY, but, You should learn to remove the tire. Just one clip and some washers. Several you tube video's on how to do it. The reason to remove it is so you can inspect it. After all there had to be a reason for it to go flat in the first place.
Thanks! Oh, I know what happened to the tire. I am notorious for pushing limits clearing in the woods. I got her stuck and popped it off when working my way out. The tire may have been a bit low too. It's been a little over a month and the tire has not lost any air. I've had it out a couple times.
i didn't watch the whole video so i'm sorry if you already answered but: do you get a lot of mosquitos?
Lots! It used to be so bad, I would stop working outside after 3 pm. I think it's gotten a bit better though as we do not have as much standing water with the clearing I've done. I have lots of issues with no-see-ums. I break out horribly from those bites. Thanks for visiting!
I loved this ty for sharing, i liked how you filmed it, i cant wait for more like this❤
I loved this, pleass make more projeck vids i learn alot from these ty so much❤
Look like they caught brain freeze 🥶
I also have 2 big chickens and 6 small chickens
I have 9 chickens
Nice hat
It’s a shame about the other three eggs one looked like it stopped developing early on but those three chicks look so cute 🥰 could you give an update on them??
Thanks for visiting! We are ecstatic that we have the 3 that we do. We had a lot going against us, but this first batch was just a test of the process. These were almost 3 week eggs that were unwashed and on the counter. The fertilization would have occurred around the beginning of March as the rooster fell ill (passed early April). Everyone did great their first week! Even our shrink wrapped chick. I'm working on a quick short that I'm posting shortly.
Yummy 😋
The dogs think so!

Hey Friend good day
Hi! I hope you're having a great day!
Hello. Enjoy the weekend
I’m glad you put out a video tonight.
I'm trying to be on a schedule. However, I've said that for over a year! lol It's hard to take the time to edit on nice days as I'm outside.
MF = Max Factor?
Maybe! lol
I like the fencing you have around the greenhouse.
Thank you both for sharing. That was a great deal of water.
It sure was! We are still getting lots of rain! As of yesterday (3/9), we are around 7 inches for the month! I think we're close to 20 for the year. We're doing something right though by cleaning up the property and clogged ravines. More water goes to the creek faster now instead of flooding the yard.
I’m a new subscriber.
Welcome!
Great video and I didn’t think it was long.
Those holes looks like armadillo.
I was thinking armadillo or possums---we've seen both around here.
I didn’t do Christmas in 2023. I just wasn’t in the mood. Your decorations are really nice.
I was not going to decorate at all. Every time I say that, I end up doing something, but on a smaller scale. There may be some family inheriting some of my collection. My tree is now decorated for St Patricks and Easter. Then, it comes down until fall. Thank you so much!
That’s so sweet your sweetheart is sitting in the coop with the chickens. That’s good. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thanks for subscribing and watching!
@@ourpeaceofgeorgia l like to comment as I watch your videos. I hope you don’t mind.
I do not mind at all!
Thank you for sharing.
Great video
Sorry to hear about your surgery. Nice to see you are on the mend. 🤗
why r u dropping hive tool on frames squshing bees? There is no capped brood?Did u manage to kill the queen?
The hive tool was accidentally dropped. We will remember to add some extra grips to our hive tool. lol The bees we interrogated didn’t tell us who was responsible for knocking out the queen. The detectives on the job think it was either the hive beetles or she was killed off by the colony due to under performance. If you watched the video through, due to hive beetles, the colony collapsed.
You're getting there. Well done. I haven't seen many youtubers work as hard as you do. From one gardener to another, I do admire your determination and stamina!
Great job well done!
That is a lovely house you have there. Beautiful garden. Not many can appreciate the work that goes into what you have done here and you are doing it all by yourself! Hats off to you both!
We got our first double yolk today! Nice, I hope she keeps on doing that for you. All the best on your adventure. You are doing a great job. PS we were the same with our first bee hive. It gets better in time as you start being more comfortable around the ladies. Just keep at it.🙂
Wow you worked so hard here well done!
Thank you so much for making a video about using Wet And Forget on your metal roof and bricks! You have a beautiful home, I love your landscaping and all the amazing trees. Like you said, rain does the rinsing and scrubbing, feel free to rinse with a hose periodically to keep the cleaning process going. I'm glad to see you had decent results on the green stains so far, hopefully you get some good rains soon as that will definitely help remove the left over black stains. Please keep us updated with another video, this was excellent!
Love the video! Keep it going!!
You don't have to hear from again he said those two paod
Hey you look like a lady I used work with plan no work
🤗 Promo'SM
This looks like either down south of GA
👍
I love how dad talks to them 😂❤
I love finding double yolk eggs. Congratulations on the bee's. Good health and God bless 👍
Thank you for the comment and subscribing! That was our first double yolker from our eggs, which made it extra special. We are definitely looking forward to our own honey. We noticed that there's not too much local honey near us. We'll have our very own local honey, while also helping out my gardens. Have a blessed week!
@@ourpeaceofgeorgia and all that is just the beginning tip of the journey. It really is a lifelong hobby. It will change how you look at everything. Hope you guys have a wonderful season. Thanks, Good health and God bless 👍
Love the fast forward music!
You’re so cute!! What IS on your chin? Love the bibs!
Thanks! Well, it's either a chinny chin, chin hair or a Pop Tart crumb! I love my bibs! I have several pairs, prevents landscaper's crack (tee hee). So comfy!
That chicken coop is why I bought a 6x8 shed. I priced many quality chicken coops and I got this bigger shed than any chicken coop, cheaper.
Sorry for the delay! Their main coop is approximately 12x12 which we updated mostly by using material on hand. The smaller coop really helps if we need to separate, rehab or add new chicks in the flock. By the time our first chicks were ready for new digs, we had the main coop (Henhouse) done.
New hens?! Yay!
*Crossing fingers* that all goes well with the issues obtaining chicks this year.
