Hi Karen, Nick here, let me tell you yours is one of the most difficult comments to respond to. First you should know that as ancient as I am I have 5-year-old twins (Long story) but that helps me understand your concerns. So let me say this, 1) Albufeira is a great place for families 2) There are areas that are more suited to families than not (let us know if you’d like some advice) 3) The old town nightlife is very energetic but up till about 9pm I would say its child friendly ! I would take my children there, but as the night gets older so does the atmosphere. If I’m out in Albufeira after 9 or 10 I would not have my young children with me unless in a restaurant in the old town. Its really busy in July, But that said most people dont book restaurants, there will be lots of places to eat at all hours, my advice is this, have a wonder around at Lunch time and book for the evening ! The bigger restauarants like sexy meat, will nearly always have space, but if you want to book a restaurant on a little beach for lunch or the evening do book, weve covered most of the local beaches so just check out the videos see a restauarant you like and call them, they all speak english so dont worry about that ! Maybe take a tuk (See Tonys Tuk Tuk) to a great beach and a loively view of the sunset one night ! Ina ny event let us know how you get on, and I'm sure you will live the Algarve. Nick

I think it depends what you look for in a beach ! :) My preference is for smaller beaches, and I suspect your the same, check out our other beach videos, If I had to pick my favourite it would be Gale ! :)

I think thats one of the nice things about the Algarve, although its great to check lots of different destinatioons, the Algarve is one of those places its always great to come visit again, especially if you want Sun, Sea, a welcoming atmosphere and a great deal of variety it has so much to offer ! see you again soon and thanks for the feedback it keeps us motivated ! :)

I've never been to Benidorm ! :) However I can confidently say that Albufeira offers something for everyone ! I suspect that the new town is more like Benidorm than the Old Town but within a few minutes drive you can find a completely different vibe ! Vilamoura marina, Albufeira Marina or a little further old town Faro, as for beaches, in daytime check out some of our beach videos ! From laid back, party or family, again something for eveyone. Please do let us know what you think, and maybe even let us know how it compares to Benidorm ! :)

Yep it happens :) !, I think your comment about the people is particularly poignant, most of Portugal really welcomes visitors, and couple that to the weather, food and beaches and you can see why so many of us holiday here or live here ! It's gonna be a little chilly for your taste I imagine. Ocean waters take longer to warm, however, if we get one of that heat waves some chilly water might be a life saver ;)

Hi Nick here, we love this sort of feedback, we didn’t really know Lagos until we filmed there! I highly recommend combining the beaten track with exploring ! Some of the beaches are stunning ! Most people are so friendly and it’s a special town ! Try and do a little “local” the beer is cheap and if you are polite they have more English than most of us have Portuguese ! :Let us know how you get on ! Safe travels :) Nick
