You never answer someone when they ask you about how the wire the capacitor and the washing machine Moto you never reply
Hello good morning I’m ask you a question. You’re not even answer.
How to connect the capacitor to the motor, please I am asking you.
Nice ohm values for the windings. I"m diagnosing a semi transient fault that leaves my machine dead from the overload protection (only directly after the wash cycle), without a diagram or manual. So I have to piece together the reversing paths in the motor terminal block and timer switches. Your ohm values make sense to me and are a great help since I have another motor I used the brown motor switch / the white centrifugal clutch actuator from a repair tp the machine like 5 years ago.. Thanks - I've figured out I can reset the overload protection by unplugging the 120 volt source and the 24 pin timer terminal, then if I move the timer knob just past the location where the machine hangs and restart the machine, it finishes the cycles and complete to the cycle stop;. So I'm getting closer to understanding the wiring with a lot of help from you and many others piece by piece.
WHAT KIND OF CAP ACITOR ARE YOU USING ? PART NUMBER AND CAPACITANCE HELP PLZ.
going to use an old washer motor for a chicken plucker. thanks !
Cool 1:50
Awesome video, thanks a million guys! This washer motor is about to become a power source for an old belt drive jointer planner and your video saved me alot of time and guess work.
U deserve more subs
Does this moter not have brushes?
Thanks I'm now running my 6 inch joiner with a found on the road dead washing machine motor... YEAH 👍
Hi got a question for you. Could I wire this wash machine motor for a slow speed. And power it up through the capacitor, using a 12 V battery. Thank you for your time Tim
what if we used plastic bottles instead?
Thanx,i too was amazed that it was exact same as mine. Very unusual and much appreciated. Mebbe I shud head to casino😁 thanx bro
thanks this video helps me the best I have seen wich speed is best to use on a chicken pickher
This worked mine just fired up thank you.. but my capacitor just blew up. Smoke just came spraying out the top and I'm jot sure why. If you know let me know please.
Thank you for the video. I was able to get my motor started based on your video. Take Care.
This is just a prayer that you will still get this and respond. This is extremely helpful in testing my motor that is still in my washer. The issue I have is the motor just hums and won't start. I made a test wire like yours and found that it won't start through the capacitor unless connected from black to yellow. Red to yellow does nothing. The wiring in the washer is definitely connecting to the red, but it doesn't do anything but hum. I used a multi-meter and have no connectivity from red to yellow, just black to yellow (for the starter capacitor). It's it possible that the switch is just not working correctly?
Best video I found actually telling you how to hook it up thanks
ua-cam.com/video/C2XtTggqJ8k/v-deo.html
would have been interesting to see the line it burnt into the lawn too
Project is great, but footage is crap. Barley can see what's going on and path of the string - which most interesting and stunning part - is shown for a couple of seconda in hole video
Great work! What happen if it is elevated without changing the shooting angle so the rope comes off the ground? Will it still be as high as it is or will it sag down?
I have a motor very similar to this one. My motor does not have a purple wire and there is 1 contact for red/black wires and no more. I am not electrician, just hobby . took from old Kenmore some time ago. How do I wire it,,does it need a capacitor, how to wire it for speed. this is the best video I have found and your explanations are thorough. Thank you.
sir thanks for the well done video...could you please move your hands from view. I am raawing the diagram and the wire connedtions are hidden and you move to another view to quick. Just use your probe please. Very good information.
Amazing
Mine does not have a capacitor. How do you wire it now?
Video very instructive but I have 1 question. On your vieo red wire appears to be orange. I have all wire except not the orange or red. It is an extra black wire. Do you know what that wire is used for? I am not at all an electrician. I think I can resolve this motor issue.
Capacitors increase power. The windings put poles out of phase. The centrifugal switch engages and disengages the start windings. You can hear it go from the run windings back to the start windings as it slows down in the beginning of your video "click".
Sorry part # is 3951551
Hi I have been watching your videos and believe you can help me. I have a washing machine motor part # 3951550 but unsure of the leads. Can y be u please identify them for me. Which should connect to my 3 wire electrical plug and how do I connect them to the capacitor. Want to use motor for a diy sander. Thanks
Cool! I've been wondering how to do this
Thanks I had this exact model motor too, this was super useful!
wire connecting not clear
Hi I have an old washer with an GE motor very similar to the one on the video, motor start and work fine in high speed but when the timer changes to low speed, the motor make noise because it start and stop in a cycle, I saw a video www.appliance-repair-it.com/washer-will-not-work-on-gentle-cycle.html , this is exactly what my washer is doing, they said that is because the low speed winding is bad....I have few questions: 1. the problem could be:1. Motor winding, 2.Motor switch or 3 the timer, I dont have a tester but I will check, the main question is, if the low speed winding is bad, can I disable the low speed?, I thing that if I disconnect the purple wire the slow speed wont work, however the motor may do the same that its doing now, because the starter connection still there, if there any way to disable the low speed?, the washing cycle only uses the slow speed for 2 minutes, but in these 2 minutes is very noisy and the motor gets hot for cycling from start and stop.......thanks...appreciate your help.....
Come to think of it. The coil circuit to the start winding is the Yellow and the black. The reason you hook up the capacitor to the red is that it is the red that is switched by the centrifugal switch so the capacitor can disengage. So if you use the ohmmeter between the yellow and the black it would basically read the resistance to the starting coil.
All European asynchronous motors on older washing machine look like this only we have 5 or 6 wires for connecting . Only thing I can not understand how asynchronous motor can do high speed spin with electric power of ONLY 120 V !? We use here like double 220 to 240 V for regular power supply
If you drill holes to it like a flute, will it change pitch?
Yes
Thanks for the info. I just replaced my burnt up bandsaw motor with an old washing machine motor and it works!
Was that a FSP / Kenmore motor?
Hi. I liked the video, it is very well explained, it helped me a lot, with an electric motor of them. I have a question, how to install a modern engine, and how to get the 3 phase cables. This is the model of the engine, modern. DWS8003SK. regards.
The brakes system how do you disconnect it or will the motor work without it causing a problem
Thank you!!!! I’ve been searching the Internet for months on how to wire my motor. You are the one to finally help me. I was about to give up!
Excelent video ,thank you; you been very helpful ;greetings from Uruguay
Hi... could you please tell me how to wire the following washing machine motor for single phase, 120vac? Thank you - Johnny jaxehost.com/wm/motor1.jpg
big mess... how can you see the wires connected
cant really see how you have the start cap hooked up.. but i did figure out how to get it running from ur vid... ur wire are a little different.. ur white is my orange... and the blue and yellow or swapped
Thank you so much in the whole entire UA-cam you video was the one to helped me wire my motor! Once again thank you
Anyone help me please I want to know about capacitor. Can someone help me please, what is the type and size uf of capacitor for the motor with Voltage 230V 3.5 Amp 50-60 Hz 750 watts 16000 rpm

Can I connect the capacitor and motor to the same feed? It would seem that would have been the way it was connected while used in a washing machine. Thanks.. nice job.
Could u explain the wiring to the compositor? I’m a little confused
