Malaysia didn't exist until 1962, Malaya a British colony. Sarawak became a British colony in 1945. Malaysia is a British creation when leaving se Asia, so grouping all the colonies together, Malaya, Singapore Sarawak , British protected country Brunei, and Sabah. We all know then Singapore and Brunei left the Federation. after time.

These are amazing photos, that make me remember what is important! It is not necessary where you come from but where you chose to live.

I think these videos are so captivating and intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed them, and they are a nice point to retrospect our ancestry.

it is mind blowing that these people came to NZ with vertually nothing and with their sweat and back breaking work created what we have today, its very sobering seeing all these historic pics that make us realize what those guys did for us. cheers for sharing it.

At 4.08 -House in the suburbs 1954- is a picture of Josh Griffins house on Upfield St Burbank must've been a Courier Mail story of him being a builder and built a lot of homes with his brother. I have this print with the Courier Mail reference number on the back. My parents bought the picture as the Griffens were good friends in Mt Gravatt

Lovely photos and very clear. Some of your dates are wrong however. The Post Office (now the railway station at the bottom of Queen Street was opened in 1912 and the town hall in 1911. Neither was there in 1900.

I place no faith in the accuracy of any of the descriptions for these photos. The photo of the North tower of the Story Bridge shows a partially completed bridge in 1940. The bridge opened in 1940.

The curved jaw line was strong back then. Anyone know why this trait is apparent and not so much today? Also noted huge "Olizine" sign, olizine is used for atypical antipsychotic primarily used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The chemicals were taking their toll.
