I had the pleasure of attending the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, in Boston, on Sunday May 19th, 2024. It was nearly 160 rain soaked miles from my home in Rhode Island, to and through Boston and then home. Well, it was time. I ditched the GoPro 2nd camera, and went full @DJI with a second Osmo Action 4 to add to the other Action 4 I had, and Mic 2. Also added the DJI GPS Bluetooth Remote to control both cameras. And they worked great! Here is a test I did. Super happy to just be able to turn things on and go, and it totally simplified my editing!

I enjoyed your video. I recently revived a Genuine Buddy scooter that I'm outfitting. I got some ideas from your video. Thanks.

Great trip and rides - good warm up for AmeriVespa '25! 🛵🛵🛵

Watch Tom Hanks movie "Larry Crowne" funny scooter stuff.
@@tagoooU thank you! I’ll check it out!
Awesome ride. Very impressive, especially on a 150cc. Looks like a ton of fun. Hope to do something like this one day. Also thanks for introducing me to Relive. I used this on my last video. Been looking for an app like that for awhile. Not sure how I never found it. Hope you’re enjoying Canada!
@@TheFranticNomad thank you so much! Yes, my only regret was not being on a bigger bike for the mountains, but I managed! You should totally do it!
Very cool!

@@gmoynihan3029 thank you! So nice meeting and riding with you!
WOOHOOO! You did it! Fantastic!!!
I did!! Thank you!!
Btw love the color of youre vespa. Looks racingggg
Thank you! It is the Racing Sixties edition, so spot on!
Nice trip and explained very well. One question, how do you setup youre gps that avoids highways. Do ypu have a normal car gps. I use google maps. For now im making use of cycle 0ads becaise of the kind of license platei have bit in future im thinking about riding on car roads...but not highwaus because the scooter will go at max 45km p/h. Hope you had a nice time riding. Im enjoying youre v8deo. Gr from the netherlands
Hello! Sorry for the delay, as I did not see your comments! I have a Garmin Zumo XT2 gps, which has options for different avoidances, including highways! I’ll be doing a video soon, where I talk about the gps and some of the mods I have done to make it work for me! Thanks for watching and the kind words!
cool video, great cause. subscribed
Thank you!!
Have a great trip! Where did you get the helmet with matching stripes? I have a white Racing Sixties as well.
Thank you! I got the helmet from Cycle Gear, and had someone add the stripes! Any local automotive vinyl shop would likely do it for you!
Thank you!
Sounds like fun. Have a great time! How many miles is your trip/how many days are you riding?
Thank you! I think when all is said and done it’ll be about a week, and about 800 miles or so!
Nice! I considered ordering from them but the shipping costs were crazy imo and I wasn’t sure how long it would actually take to get here. Sounds promising though. May have to reconsider/look at it again. Glad your experience was a good one.
It ended up being about $100 total, which I felt was worth it! I’ve ordered a few things from them, and delivery is usually speedy!
I'm glad that so many braved the weather for this event.
Me too!
I’ve had the same issue w/ GoPro, and I’m personally not sorry GoPro! Your customer service is terrible. I may have to get the remote as well once I get a second Osmo. Fun exploration. Looks great! Feel the same way about Apple and I’m a tech guy.
Thank you! Yeah I had enough of GoPro. It’s been so much better. Still figuring out the remote, but so far so good!
@@WanderOnTwoWheels glad to hear it. I’ll be doing the same with a second Osmo camera as well when I can and I’ll just try to sell the GoPro.
Things are looking great! The remote can be a frustrating mess. I've stopped using mine but I'm gonna break it out and try again...
Thanks Bug! The hilarious thing is that I could not find the dang thing yesterday before my ride, so now I have to go through the bike and my 2 backpacks to try and find it! 😂🤣
Your Vespa tires will last longer as long as you check your tire pressure regularly. I check my tires every time I go out for a ride. I ride a 2021 Vespa 300 and my rear tire was changed at 9,500 miles. I use Michelin City Grip 2's. My front tire is very close to being changed out and is currently at 18,500 miles. The longevity may also be a direct result of riding on straight flat roads in Florida.🤣
I bought a TPSM kit for my tires, which has been great at helping me keep an eye on tire pressure, so you may have a key point! I am checking them pretty consistently. So far the Pirelli Angels they put on feel fine. I’m just hoping they have a similar durability to the prior City Grips! Haha, yeah lots of straight flat roads out there, but also better riding weather longer! Cheers!
I carry around a Fanttik portable air inflator. VERY easy way to check your pressure. Costco currently selling S100.
@@vespaenthusiaststimlisah. I do also have one of those portable rechargeable air fillers, and it so comes in handy!
How quickly does the Vespa go through tires and is regular maintenance very expensive? Ideally I'd love to get one but I also like the Royal Alloy. I'm torn, but based on the initial cost I'm leaning towards the Royal Alloy. 🛵
Hi there! Great questions! I had Michelin City Grips on the bike when I bought it in May of 2022. They still looked and felt pretty good when I had them replaced in February with almost 11,000 miles on them! Unfortunately they did not have the City Grips, so I now have the Pirelli Angels on there. I’ll see how long they last. As for maintenance, it is hard to find places local to Rhode Island, so I have been trying to learn what I can. I can do oil and filter changes myself now, but actually found a place in New Hampshire that came to pick up the bike in February for its 10,000 mile service, which was pretty pricy. My goal for this year is to learn more maintenance, because it really is the only annoying thing about owning a Vespa. I hope that was helpful! Happy shopping, and have fun with whatever you decide to get!!
Thanks, and yes that was very helpful. I just don't see the need to use a car (unless the weather is bad) with only one person in it - me. I'm also considering the Honda Supercub because of the retro look. And the price, of course!
@@vanmandad yeah I only use my car when the weather is bad, or I have to do some shopping that can’t fit on my Vespa! The Super Cub looks pretty cool, too! And there seem to be more Honda dealers around.
@@WanderOnTwoWheels And the engine is more easily accessible for simple maintenance. I love Jay Leno's video on the Supercub 😆😂🤣
@@vanmandad haha, true that! I haven’t seen that video. I’ll have to find it. Thanks!
Howdy and greetings from Spain :)
Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
Nice quality, I’m convinced to buy one.
I’m really liking it way more than the GoPro!
Did you say in this video (or your last) that you applied the stripes to your top box? If so where did ya get them? I'm thinking of restriping my GTS. The black and orange isn't doing it for me lately...
Yes! I think I either got them from Scooterwest or SIP. Let me see if I can find the email. I think they may have had some other ones.
The top case ones came from SIP and I did get a set of replacement body decals from Scooterwest, in case I ever damaged the body.
Nice breakdown of the DJI equipment Dawn. I wish I had the mic 2.
Thanks! I just filmed my ride with the Mic 2, and the next video will feature that combo!
hi nice video, you has 60 fps setting and mic gain -12?
Hello! I believe I was at 50fps and -10 for the gain~
@@WanderOnTwoWheels thx
@@J3_ZON you're welcome!
Good Video! Your very brave with that early Boston ride. I enjoyed your whole video!
Thank you! I figured it was the best way to test out the gear AND get over my apprehension about speaking. And it helped a lot! Thank you! I’ll be doing the DGR in Boston again in May! Thanks so much for watching!
Nice, I didn't know you got the mic from Bug! Very cool. Sounds great!
Thanks!! Yes! It came at the right time! I have been waffling about changing cameras, so it kinda forced me to do it. So glad I did. I really like the DJI so much better, along with the ease of use of the mics.
Where did you get the mount for your phone/gps? Did you fabricate that yourself?
Hi there! I know someone who is a metal fabricator, so I went to meet with him and his dad a couple weeks ago with an idea of what I wanted, and this is what they came up with! I’ll be doing a video just on that piece and the gps soon, so you’ll have a better idea of what it looks like and how it attaches!
Great, your audio sounds BETTER than mine now! HA! This is so exciting. Keep going!!!!
Haha! Not even! Glad I got this rambling out of the way. By the end I felt good, and ready to start making shorter, more targeted videos! Thank you for the chance to win the mic! It’s definitely a game changer!
Wonderful video, Dawn!
Thanks so much! Sorry I missed your comment until now!
𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚖 🙈
Side mirror mount?
Yes!
why is quality so terrible ?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out! If you read my description, I say the quality is terrible, and I ask for suggestions. If you have any, please share!
@@WanderOnTwoWheels hear you. It can be tricky i am Insta360 user was curious about the comparison with Go pro max
@@harshs6597 the other videos I’ve seen with this camera look amazing, so I know I must be doing something wrong! Ha!
@@WanderOnTwoWheels it looks like you uploaded the LRV (low res video) file , after it was upscaled to 4k.... instead of the regular full size file
@@kylepeterson thanks for the reply! You are likely correct! I just tried a new video, using only the Hero lens, and I think I uploaded a higher resolution file, because it looks better. Still not where I'd like to be, but I am learning!
