Переглядів 63 тис.7 років тому
Thanks to: ua-cam.com/channels/fj3j6pVnWqvS_3c0RXg3OQ.html and ua-cam.com/channels/jWorVGAgCxGa71vCRvZhCQ.html for giving assets for the game. Sorry if my voice cracks a bit, I was sick in the making of this video... Finally. After a year and a half, the ending to this short sweet game is explained.
fun fact: first time I actually played this game, I actually beat the last leaf on first try.

I played this game before and I finally understand the ending. Cool.

The whole game, is the BEST game!! 👏👏
It is SUCH an underrated game. I even love Unravel 2.
Good work!
You need to make 1 for second game lore makes no sense
I just finished this game the other day, and it's the first game to make me cry. The last level where you're looking for something to hook your string on to, and it loops onto a little orb of light, and you keep looping onto them, flying through the forest. Such a charming game with beautiful graphics. Playing the sequel now, and loving it, too!
in my opinion unravel is a must play aslong as you have to means to (that meaning money or console) its absolutely amazing i need to play it agian! i beat it years ago and i have to play agian
Just finished this amazing game and story and your video is probably the best end to my playtrough
I beat this game 3 years ago i played both the ferst game and the second one and i finaly enderstand the lore Thanks.
UNRAVEL TWO VID? ✨
This game's story line is similar to my life story also. Actually, my son was the one who played this game and even though I never played it, I enjoyed watching it, and fell in love with it. I never got a chance to build a bond with my son, but I hold on to the moments of when I was in his room quietly watching him playing the game on his computer screen.... Bless you !
its funny because i had that exact same interpretation of the game before i even watched this video
I loved this game! The ending was emotional for me. I play the last chapter several times. I truly appreciated the small details in Yarney’s animations (shivering, waving, happy, scared, etc.) Beautiful analysis.
What happened to the sequel to the Unravel video?
Please do a similar video for unravelled two
I really don’t think the girl at the end is the old woman’s daughter. It would make more sense if it was her granddaughter.
I love this game.. i feel you. but part 2 is waste
I work in a nursing home, and my personal take away at the end here is that she passes away. Usually when a couple thats been together for so long when one passes the other isnt too far behind and will pass of a broken heart and often times when near the end they will see and even reach out for loved ones. So through the levels that get progressivly colder up to the last level, the lantern symbolic of life and of course yarney being a manifestation of love and herself, and when yarney unravels at the last bit chasing the half of a heart, possibly symbolic her husband she passes away as i dont remember seeing her again after that scene and also why i think we go from the end winter cold dark level back to a very warm centered memory filled forest and collecting that last half is being reunited in death. As for the little girl she looks too young to be their daughter so maybe granddaughter, though id also make an argument its her younger self
Maybe. I think that was the idea, at least until the granddaughter enters the equation. When we find the old woman at the beginning, she is very upset and hopeless. I think Yarny jumping into the harsh cold and unraveling completely while chasing the yarn heart half is definitely meant to signify that the old woman lost herself to her grief, and that it had consumed her completely…that is, until we see the hand retrieve Yarny. At the very end, we see the granddaughter enter the kitchen and take a cookie from the table. I think the plate of cookies signifies that the old woman is still alive and well, and I think that while grief for the loss of her husband-he better half, her soulmate-weighs heavily on her from time to time, the old woman found her hope in her granddaughter. After the hand picks up an unraveled Yarny from the snow, he wakes up in a bright and warm environment and uses the happy memories to traverse back to the woman’s house. I think that while the old woman will always have those hard memories, she has so many good ones to keep fighting for. The book in the end says something along the lines of “life is always worth it.” While she no longer has her husband, she has the testaments of the life they built together: their children, now grown, and their grandchildren.
Thank you, I’ve been needing this for a long time
im ur 400th sub
I've been waiting so long to find a video like this ! Unravel really deserved a video like this. Thank You.

I will stay here subscribed until a new vid comes out
Amazing work!!!! You did a great job with the explanation! I barely started playing it yesterday and I was soooooo curious to what the story would be lol
it is till this day one of the best game in the world. and emotion wise it's the best and for me always be. it's in my heart forever❤
Great Video, Really Thanks! I would have subscribed you if you uploaded any other videos
Fair lol. Appreciate the response, glad to know people are still enjoying
@@oxycorp3261 Why don't you try uploading review videos like this regularly ?
I love this game. Good video man! I think the child in the end is her grandkid
great now im sobbing
I miss you 😢
lmao it's def not a boy and a girl but 2 girls
How do you mean?
@@yosemitesam7.62my analysis was slightly different from the analysis here. I thought that the old woman was looking at the life she had made with her husband over the years. They had two children, a boy and a girl. The old woman isn’t in many of the photos because she took the photos, but I thought I remember a man accompanying the children places in some photos. That’s the husband with their kids. The kids grow; by teens, I thought the daughter met a girl she fell in love with. In the level “The Letter” I thought it was the old woman and man receiving word from their son that they were going to be grandparents. During one of the winter levels, the son brings his kids for a visit? Idk. I’ve only played it once, but to me it’s clear there were grandchildren around somehow. This comes after the toxic waste level, after which in the book it says something along the lines of “the old stay, the young leave.” So I think the couple’s kids grew up and left and went out into the world, found significant others, and returned for visits with kids of their own.
I hope there will be an unravel 3 !
Just finished to re-played the game few hours ago and I really wanted to know everything about the story ! this game is so great
I guess he really did stop trying.
i miss you when is unravel 2 analysis coming
Where did you go, come back😢
Hope to see more!
Thank you so much for making this video. Have you played Unraveled Two? I'd love an analysis on it as well. This one was so good.
So I just finished playing this game with my daughters and we loved it! I think this is absolutely an inspired game and an inspired analysis of the story on your part. Well done my friend I absolutely agree this game needs more hype. By the way have you played the sequel? Unraveled two came out in 2018 I believe it was and we are currently playing through it. It puts a different spin on the game by adding a second player who you can lasso onto and swing around the game world with
Amazing!!!!
Can you do an explained ending and analysis for Unravel 2?
I love this game alot all the emotions amazing story the soundtracks scenery I could play this all eternity and would never get bored it needs way more attention because this is a masterpiece
I played this game for the first time over the weekend. Not gonna lie, but when it finished and I read "Love forms bonds, like strands of yarn. Like yarn, those bonds can be fragile or get all tangled. But when they're kept and cared for, they can bridge any distance." I started crying. I did think of a bond of family that sort of became distant with time and towards the end things were mended and they were spending time together again. But I do like your interpretation!
I've been a gamer for 30+ years and this is without a doubt my favourite game ever.
I understand if you want to get through the video without making it 30 minutes long, but I think you talk a bit too fast. Other than that, this is a great analysis.
thank you for showing me this game (on play station 5)
