Hello! My name is Missy, and I've been crocheting for ~20 years or so. Post-pandemic, I had a radical career shift from working in education to selling my creations full time.
I still love teaching, though, and found I missed it to some degree. So I thought I'd give a crack at creating video tutorials for other crocheters who want to make cute little creatures with me - and lo, this humble channel was born.
I am happy you are here, and hope that these videos help bring joy and creativity to your life! Be it in the act of creating a cute plushie, learning a new skill, or the joy of giving a handmade creation to another person - thanks for tuning in. I hope to continue making content that folks enjoy!

Crochet a Bubble Tea Charm - how to make a boba milk tea key chain!
I really, really, really like bubble tea, and occasionally treat myself to a matcha or taro bubble tea when I'm nearby one of our local shops. I recently picked up some shiny black beads from the craft store - I was originally thinking they'd make cute pop-out eyes on some of my amigurumi, and then it clicked: They'd also make great boba on a crocheted cup of bubble tea, too!
So here's my video tutorial for this little guy. It makes a great key chain/charm, too!

Materials:
✩ Worsted weight yarn in your main color (brown for me, but think bubble tea colors: Purple, pink, green, etc.), black, and white, or your choice of weight and color - just remember to size hooks and accessories accordingly.
✩ 5mm crochet hook (or whatever size you need, based on the weight of yarn you choose)
✩ Your standard amigurumi items: tapestry/yarn needle(s), stitch marker, scissors, stuffing
✩ 6mm black round beads (approx. 12 of them, but you can use more or less) - 6mm safety eyes work in a pinch, too! (Here are the beads I used: tinyurl.com/4m57uve2)
✩ If you're using beads, you'll need a little embroidery thread, to sew them on.
✩ If you're making yours into a key chain, you'll need a key chain attachment. Here's the kind that I like to use: tinyurl.com/4vshxx45

Crochet a Reindeer with me! #christmas #crochet #amigurumi #crocheting
Переглядів 592Місяць тому
This was about an hour's worth of work boiled down into 30 seconds on this cute little reindeer! I have two holiday shows coming up and need to make a few more of them before Saturday. 🎄 I've very loosely wrote the pattern down so if folks are interested I can make it my next tutorial? 💕 On a semi-related note, I've always loved this version of Sleigh Ride. That trombone solo at the beginning 👌
New patterns added to my channel! #crochet #amigurumipattern #diy #amigurumitutorial

Lately seems like shouting into the void on social media, so I've sorta given up on announcements (which is stupid and doesn't help matters!) - I have two new amigurumi patterns I've made, both holiday themed! Both are fully written out on my blog (which I've recently overhauled!) and have accompanying video tutorials here on my channel. I worked really hard on both and it would mean the world ...
Super Simple Crochet Bow Garland - a no sew beginner friendly crocheted decoration!
Переглядів 1,6 тис.Місяць тому
Hey everyone! Here's a really quick tutorial for my bow garland - it looks so nice on the Christmas tree or strung up on a wall, but the sky's the limit on what to use these garlands for. I originally wrote this pattern as the FIRST pattern on my blog nearly 10 years ago (I am taking psychic damage thinking about this). I noticed the post getting more attention than normal lately, so thought to...
How to Crochet a Yeti Buddy Amigurumi Tutorial - make this cute crochet plushie!
Переглядів 470Місяць тому
Time for another festive Buddy - this Yeti Buddy is absolute darling, right? I've had him sitting on my shelf in my office, staring at me for the last week or so, to remind me to type up his pattern and film his tutorial to share with everyone. The head uses a new color changing technique that I recently learned about for another project I was working on. It uses FLO sc during the color change ...
Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Crochet Amigurumi Tutorial - crochet your own Gingerbread Buddy!
Переглядів 8042 місяці тому
Hi folks! I just recently realized that I've posted plenty of spooky Halloween patterns, but not really anything more festive and Yule-timey. So I'd like to make amends and share a few winter themed projects for the next few posts. First up, this Gingerbread Buddy! I really love the way this little dude's body shape worked up, and will be making different cosmetic changes to this base pattern t...
How to Crochet a Mini Amigurumi Pumpkin - make your own cute crochet pumpkin!

A very long time ago, I shared my Pumpkin Amigurumi pattern to my blog, and year after year it continues to be one of my more popular posts - rise up, fellow spooky season enjoyers! I wanted to share a mini version of my pumpkin pattern, too. It makes a cute squishy for your desk, looks nice mixed in with other fall themed decorations, and even works great for garlands (just make a few and stri...

🍣Sushi Crochet Tutorial - make your own sushi plush🍣

Hey, it's been a bit since I've posted any new tutorials on my blog or my UA-cam channel - I was taking a much needed rest after my most recent show in STL. It was really fun and rewarding, but took a lot out of me (more than a normal show) so I wanted to give myself some time to recover. One of the things I made for this show that folks really liked was my sushi plushie - I also find them real...

I've been playing a lot of Stardew Valley lately (what with the new update and all that came out!) - in addition to playing Stardew, I've also been trying to gear up for the summer farmer's market season. Unluckily for me, the weather looked bad for this upcoming weekend, so I'm forgoing the market I had planned this Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to go sometime soon, but it may need to wait ...
How to Crochet an Oddish - crochet amigurumi Pokemon step-by-step tutorial!

This pattern has been one of my staples at my market table since I started vending back in 2016 when I was still in college. If you're a fellow Pokemon enjoyer who wants to make this little guy for your collection, or are looking to add something nerdy to your crochet market table, I humbly present this little dude. He usually sells out at each event I take him to, and I've got 8 years of marke...
🏮How to crochet a red lantern - a low-sew tutorial!🏮
Переглядів 827 місяців тому
I'm very excited to have been accepted into an event in my area called the "Red Lantern City Night Market." I want to pay homage to a culture that I really respect by creating amigurumi designs that align with the event's theme - and naturally, a red lantern was one of the first ideas that came to mind. I am super proud of how this one turned out, primarily because it doesn't involve very much ...
Crochet a dango amigurumi plush 🍡 Easy step-by-step crochet tutorial!
Переглядів 6038 місяців тому
I'm gearing up for a Japanese-themed festival this July, and thought to make some Japanese-inspired festival makes - starting with this dango! I've had these once or twice before. They were really chewy and full of a sweet red bean paste. I really wish I had a way to get them more regularly to eat, but since that's not possible, I'll just crochet a bunch ಥ‿ಥ More summer festival makes on the wa...
Cute Crochet Key Chain - Crochet a Kawaii Ice Cream Bear!
Переглядів 2529 місяців тому
Here's my pattern for this original creation - an ice cream bear! He's relatively low-sew, but there is some sewing, gluing (optional), and tying required to complete this pattern. You'll want to know how to start both in the round with Magic Ring and with a slip knot (to chain his bow tie!). I've also included a "Navigation" tutorial at the very beginning of the video. I highly suggest if you'...

My grandma was looking for me to make her a Mr. Bingle and I found this. Do you have a pattern for him or any suggestions for the leafy wing things 😅
Yes, I use two leaves to make the wings - check out the video on my channel for Oddish, those are the exact same leaves I use for my Mr. Bingle!
Thank you so much!

so cute!! I can't wait to make one! 😄
Thanks! I was looking for a mini pumpkin tutorial to decorate my desk for halloween, this would look so cute!
What is a magic loop huh??😭😭😭
Hey! Good question - a magic loop is a common way to start crocheting in the round. Some folks also will tie a slip knot, chain 2 stitches, and then place the first round of single crochet stitches inside that slip knot. Hope that helps!
@@pixeledpeach ohhh thank you so much😊
I love making these but there’s real big holes wherever I decrease, any tips?
Hey! I get gaps sometimes when decreasing, too. Here's what I do: 1. Invisible decrease: This is the kind of decrease you can see me working in the video, where you single crochet two stitches together. It helps hide gaps, but there's a good chance you're already doing this! 2. Be sure not to over-stuff: Too much stuffing can stretch your work, and makes large gaps appear around the decrease section. I also try to add stuffing before the last decreases, but you can try adding some before you begin your first decrease round. This helps keep the stitches tight! 3. Hook size: I use worsted weight yarn (Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn!" or Red Heart) and a 4mm hook. However, not all worsted weight yarn is created equal, and we all have a unique tension when we crochet. I'd say if you've tried the two tips above but still have large holes when decreasing, try sizing down a half size on your hook. Chances are your yarn is a little thinner or your tension is a little loose with the hook size you're currently working with! 4. Yarn under single crochet decrease: Try yarning under for your decrease stitches. It creates a tighter fabric and may help with the gaps. I've very recently switched to yarning under for all of my amigurumi projects (recently enough that it's not shown here in this video!) and have had to size my hook size UP because the stitches are that much tighter. Hope these tips help out! Thanks for watching!
Super cute and the tutorial was very easy thank you for these cute patterns 💕
You deserve a billion views I love him so much
I can’t wait to make these, my sister once got an apple tree cat scratcher for her cat Mr Neo and it’s looking a bit worse for wear. His “wapples” are all missing so I can now make him some more wapples and all will be right in the world again 🍎🐈⬛❤️
Oh my gosh I'm so honored! I hope he likes his "wapples!" 🥺❤️

AGH I NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE BUT I WANT TO MAKE IT
I love these flowers. I intend to make them; I hope I’m up to the task. You make it look easy (your skill) so what I create might be okay. 🤔. Update. It took me 4 days and numerous tries to do the daisy. I could finally get 5 decent petals, now I’ve gotten 6 but not pretty ones. Still working on tension, etc. Maybe, just maybe, my attempt will be good, not like yours, but good.
You can do it! Let me know if you need any help - I can maybe post a follow-up video really focusing on the daisy petals if you're still having trouble.
Estan hermosas!
literally so cute 😭

I have a small business and i think im gonna make these for it!
You absolutely should! These always do well when I sell at farmers markets! 💖
Yeah, thank you for the tutorial
Me toooo i think we should do a collab 😊😂
After the first flower idk what to do next😢
So sorry to hear you're stuck - let me see if I can help! At timestamp 4:09, I start the second flower. You'll need to chain 6 stitches (after finishing the first flower) and then in the second chain from the hook, begin adding sc (like the first flower - 3sc on one side, 3sc to the other). From there, it's just like the first flower! I hope this helps! 😊
Thank you so much. ❤
those are so cute!!! ♥
Thank you! 😊
could u please sent written instruction, like: 1 round - mr (6 sc), 2 round - inc (12) etc, its really hard to understand paws
I have a separate video on my channel called "How to Crochet Bobble Stitch" that just talks about the bobble stitch and how I use it for the paws! I don't have the written pattern for this one yet on my blog, but the instructions are also in the top left corner for all of my videos!
Aww! I love the lavender! 🥰💜
Thank you so much! I have a hard time growing lavender inside, so decided to just crochet some instead 🥺💖
