Hello! My name is Missy, and I've been crocheting for ~20 years or so. Post-pandemic, I had a radical career shift from working in education to selling my creations full time.
I still love teaching, though, and found I missed it to some degree. So I thought I'd give a crack at creating video tutorials for other crocheters who want to make cute little creatures with me - and lo, this humble channel was born.
I am happy you are here, and hope that these videos help bring joy and creativity to your life! Be it in the act of creating a cute plushie, learning a new skill, or the joy of giving a handmade creation to another person - thanks for tuning in. I hope to continue making content that folks enjoy!

Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Crochet Amigurumi Tutorial - crochet your own Gingerbread Buddy!
Hi folks! I just recently realized that I've posted plenty of spooky Halloween patterns, but not really anything more festive and Yule-timey. So I'd like to make amends and share a few winter themed projects for the next few posts. First up, this Gingerbread Buddy!
I really love the way this little dude's body shape worked up, and will be making different cosmetic changes to this base pattern to create each of these winter themed characters. If folks end up liking the little guys as much as I do, I'll keep making different themed "Buddies" for each season.
So far I have this Gingerbread Buddy, and a Yeti Buddy already in the works! I have a few more ideas but I am open to suggestions, so feel free to drop a comment if you have any ideas on what you'd like to see. (ᴗᵔᴥᵔ)

Hey, it's been a bit since I've posted any new tutorials on my blog or my UA-cam channel - I was taking a much needed rest after my most recent show in STL. It was really fun and rewarding, but took a lot out of me (more than a normal show) so I wanted to give myself some time to recover. One of the things I made for this show that folks really liked was my sushi plushie - I also find them real...

I've been playing a lot of Stardew Valley lately (what with the new update and all that came out!) - in addition to playing Stardew, I've also been trying to gear up for the summer farmer's market season. Unluckily for me, the weather looked bad for this upcoming weekend, so I'm forgoing the market I had planned this Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to go sometime soon, but it may need to wait ...

🏮How to crochet a red lantern - a low-sew tutorial!🏮

I'm very excited to have been accepted into an event in my area called the "Red Lantern City Night Market." I want to pay homage to a culture that I really respect by creating amigurumi designs that align with the event's theme - and naturally, a red lantern was one of the first ideas that came to mind. I am super proud of how this one turned out, primarily because it doesn't involve very much ...

I'm gearing up for a Japanese-themed festival this July, and thought to make some Japanese-inspired festival makes - starting with this dango! I've had these once or twice before. Ice Cream Bear Amigurumi Tutorial

Here's my pattern for this original creation - an ice cream bear! He's relatively low-sew, but there is some sewing, gluing (optional), and tying required to complete this pattern. so cute!! I can't wait to make one! 😄
Thanks! I was looking for a mini pumpkin tutorial to decorate my desk for halloween, this would look so cute!
What is a magic loop huh??😭😭😭
Hey! Good question - a magic loop is a common way to start crocheting in the round. Some folks also will tie a slip knot, chain 2 stitches, and then place the first round of single crochet stitches inside that slip knot. Hope that helps!
@@pixeledpeach ohhh thank you so much😊
I love making these but there’s real big holes wherever I decrease, any tips?
Hey! I get gaps sometimes when decreasing, too. Here's what I do: 1. Invisible decrease: This is the kind of decrease you can see me working in the video, where you single crochet two stitches together. It helps hide gaps, but there's a good chance you're already doing this! 2. Be sure not to over-stuff: Too much stuffing can stretch your work, and makes large gaps appear around the decrease section. I also try to add stuffing before the last decreases, but you can try adding some before you begin your first decrease round. This helps keep the stitches tight! 3. Hook size: I use worsted weight yarn (Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn!" or Red Heart) and a 4mm hook. However, not all worsted weight yarn is created equal, and we all have a unique tension when we crochet. I'd say if you've tried the two tips above but still have large holes when decreasing, try sizing down a half size on your hook. Chances are your yarn is a little thinner or your tension is a little loose with the hook size you're currently working with! 4. Yarn under single crochet decrease: Try yarning under for your decrease stitches. It creates a tighter fabric and may help with the gaps. I've very recently switched to yarning under for all of my amigurumi projects (recently enough that it's not shown here in this video!) and have had to size my hook size UP because the stitches are that much tighter. Hope these tips help out! Thanks for watching!
Super cute and the tutorial was very easy thank you for these cute patterns 💕
You deserve a billion views I love him so much
I can’t wait to make these, my sister once got an apple tree cat scratcher for her cat Mr Neo and it’s looking a bit worse for wear. His “wapples” are all missing so I can now make him some more wapples and all will be right in the world again 🍎🐈⬛❤️
Oh my gosh I'm so honored! I hope he likes his "wapples!" 🥺❤️

AGH I NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE BUT I WANT TO MAKE IT
I love these flowers. I intend to make them; I hope I’m up to the task. You make it look easy (your skill) so what I create might be okay. 🤔. Update. It took me 4 days and numerous tries to do the daisy. I could finally get 5 decent petals, now I’ve gotten 6 but not pretty ones. Still working on tension, etc. Maybe, just maybe, my attempt will be good, not like yours, but good.
You can do it! Let me know if you need any help - I can maybe post a follow-up video really focusing on the daisy petals if you're still having trouble.
Estan hermosas!

You absolutely should! These always do well when I sell at farmers markets! 💖
Yeah, thank you for the tutorial
Me toooo i think we should do a collab 😊😂
After the first flower idk what to do next😢
So sorry to hear you're stuck - let me see if I can help! At timestamp 4:09, I start the second flower. You'll need to chain 6 stitches (after finishing the first flower) and then in the second chain from the hook, begin adding sc (like the first flower - 3sc on one side, 3sc to the other). From there, it's just like the first flower! I hope this helps! 😊
Thank you so much. ❤
those are so cute!!! ♥
Thank you! 😊
could u please sent written instruction, like: 1 round - mr (6 sc), 2 round - inc (12) etc, its really hard to understand paws
I have a separate video on my channel called "How to Crochet Bobble Stitch" that just talks about the bobble stitch and how I use it for the paws! I don't have the written pattern for this one yet on my blog, but the instructions are also in the top left corner for all of my videos!
Aww! I love the lavender! 🥰💜
Thank you so much! I have a hard time growing lavender inside, so decided to just crochet some instead 🥺💖
That is so cute!!! ❤❤❤ hope this video blows up!
Thank you - me too, I'd love if more people knew about my crochet tutorials 🥺💖
First time viewing your channel I subscribed 🤓 thank you for your time 👍 I'm going to try to make it
Thank you for subscribing - and for making my stuff 🥺💖 I really appreciate it, and you!
This is an amazing tutorial! Just wondering how much of each yarn (length) do i need?
Hi! So you won't need much of the white yarn for the mouth, but depending on what kind of yarn you use for the main body color, you may need almost a full skein. I've made these guys with worsted weight and can make several from one skein, but using a chenille yarn like Premier's Parfait, it takes most of the skein. Let me remake one and give you some yardage estimates!
Okay, just ran the numbers - with a 5mm hook and using chenille yarn, the head, body, and ears took approximately 35 yards of yarn! It took about 25% of the skein to make one alpaca. Hope this helps! 💖
@@pixeledpeach Thank you! This is so much help! Can't wait to make this <3
I chuckled at your statement, let me go remake one to see how much it takes. You’re definitely a pro. Love your helpfulness and I just happened to find your channel. Really am enjoying it.
