My ranking is the exact same, but I have some differing opinions: Octo Canyon, while the worst, is in my opinion different enough from Octo Valley, and just really fun I haven't played Side Order yet sooo Octo Valley is good, but overrated In my opinion, Return of the Mammalians is better than Octo Expansion gameplay wise, because the difficulty is not too hard, but not too easy either. Octo Expansion is better because all the other stuff, like story, characters, ending, etc. Like, I like a challenge, but Octo Expansion is sometimes unfairly difficult. Also, I just don't really like anything about Deep Cut, but it doesn't have enough of an impact on RotM for me to put it back. Also, OE is 1st for me, because when I got into Splatoon a few months ago, I played the first and second games, and OE changed my life forever. It might sound silly, but it's true.

I think the silent Cap3 is both because: thats **you** and the writers wanted to basically have Marie's voice be the one you hear translating Cap's, rather than force a specific voice on the character and create a "i would not talk like that" kind of moment in veteran players And it makes the booyah at the end of the campaign that much more cathartic

My headcanon for why Cap'n (and all the playable characters) don't speak is because they're iseckied humans who only know their human languages. Which is why they speak in miiverse posts, but otherwise only know very little inkling/octoling. Tho I've also heard the "nonverbal autism brigade" headcanon so hey sure why not.

Yeah I disliked The Vanishing Sister/Diva too, but primarily cuz there were too many levels and the hub world was obnoxious. Otherwise it felt like Revenge of the Octaliens with a budget, which I guess makes up for Spla2n's multiplayer being a shell of what Sp1atoon was... I think if this one was shorter I'd rank it higher than RotO because the bosses are better, the levels are better, the final boss is so much better like holy cats the spectacle of it all! You actually defeat him with the *rainmaker* wow!

Pretty good video, pretty good points made about all the campaigns I would probably put return of the mammalians lower all things considered because of how much Deep Cut holds it back but hey, that's just me What I really want to say is I personally found it sort off-putting to hear how Captain's lack of spoken dialogue breaks immersion. And while I can understand the frustration with silent protagonists, I'd want to point out that so far, no agent other than Cap/3 has been effectively turned from a protagonist into an NPC, so there might be a good chance of Four, Eight, or Neo 3 having spoken dialogue in the future (I think especially Four). What this also means is that Cap's lack of dialogue comes off as very intentional, changing them from a silent protagonist to merely a (selectively) mute character. So, in my mind, it feels off to refer to a character's muteness as immersion breaking. Granted this comment might age poorly if all the protags end up getting the same silent treatment (pun intended) as Captain, but I figured I'd say something because it caught my attention. Also I hate to be that guy, but reminder that Acht uses and is referred to by they/them in the English localization

Great video!! I agree with most of your rankings, though I'd probably put side order above splatoon 1's campaign, just because I care more about that storyline, and also I found the spire challenging enough that I didn't get bored of it, but the lack of a final challenge is really disappointing still. Speaking of side order, one additional thing that irks me is how Acht was included. Acht is not a Splatoon 3 original, she first appeared in the octo expansion soundtrack, as the DJ behind the deepsea metro's music. Her backstory was detailed in the Haikara Walker, the octo expansion art book (that's supposed to be an in-universe magazine. it's the one 8 uses in-game to "imagine inkopolis" on the metro). But side order does NOTHING to explain what's going on with Acht! Did she escape the metro somehow? Or is her sanitized body physically still there, but her conciousness somehow got uploaded to Marina's game? If so, is it trapped in the spire? I was hyped to see Acht in the game, but disappointed when it did nothing with her pre-established story. :(

Personally I don’t think having Zelda as the main character is that big of a deal or is groundbreaking in any meaningful way, in the sense that Link doesn’t have much of a character, or rather characteristics that make a character. By no means is this a bad thing however, in fact I love games where the story isn’t so much “told” as it is created through the game play. Anyway the game looks fun and inventive which is what matters in my book. I’m cool with the art style, but that’s such a subjective thing I can’t really say why it’s good or why it isn’t for that matter. Anyway cool vid, I’m glad it popped up on my feed. I think the Sun & Moon seasons of the anime was the best at balancing the light hearted tone and comedy of the series with the deep dramatic storytelling. (I.E Litten and Stoutland, the entire arc with Lusamine, etc.)

I've said for a while now that Pokemon Generations (now also including Pokemon: Origin, Pokemon Evolutions, Twilight Wings and Hisuian Snow and Paldean Winds) as a full-length series whould be amazing. And it's a damn crime they havn't done this yet. As much as I'm enjoying the current Anime, and has been for 20+ years, I'd ditch it in a heartbeat if this became a full-fletched series. Especially Generations and Evolution cuz they were the best, with a little bit of Origins sprinkled in too, cuz Origin really had something interesting. My favorite scene is when Brock asks Red how many badges he has, and he says none, so Brock decides to only use two Pokemon against him since Red is still inexperienced. I think that really added some much needed dimension to the Gym Leaders.

The closest we get for a mature Pokemon main series was XY and the Diamond and Pearl (like The hunter J, Team Flare arc, Malamar episode and Drifloon episode), I would love to see Ethan/Gold making his adventure durong Johto or Hilbert travelling in Unova region

I am impress on how you convey you examples of what a mature Pokemon Series could be outside of the battling and forming friendship. It can expand many characters from the games and while tackling certain topics which the anime could expand upon. Have you heard of Pokemon Adventures/Pokespe? I highly recommend giving it a read it. I know the manga is infamous for having interesting material. (Cough Charmelon cutting Arbok's head being cut off Cough) The Manga still has the charm of the games and expand on the story and it even characterize the games protagonist. An example I can give you is Selene's counterpart Moon who you may think is an upbeat trainer who like going on adventures, Moon is characterize as a no nonsense pharmacist who wields a bow and arrow to gather ingredients. As for the anime right now, Horizons is a little more grounded with its storytelling than past series. We are still going from region to region similar to Journey, but in the style of that is akin to Avatar the Last Airbender. At times we do get sillier episodes, but it is balanced with character focus episodes or when the Explorers comes to town. I highly recommend the series.

I never got octo expansion which makes me really sad but I definitely think the challenge that made me a better player was after alterna especially that final area with all the octoling soldiers

Here's a Idea for a secret boss. Fighting our parallel canon Selfs but wearing your inkling or Octoling gear loadout from your game data and its harder.

5:26 I'm a casual splatoon player and I beat it, it took a ton of attempts but I beat it

After we fight Order for the 12th time, it should have unlocked the finalized version of the Spire after Marina finished it. And then we would complete it for the 13th time with minor changes and updates, and unlocking the final golden toothpick equivalent.

the lore in agent 4's pallette actually reveals that she was sucked into the memverse and turned into the parallel cannon boss. hence why it takes your splatoon 2 agent hairstyle data. so she appears, just not the way you think.

Anyone who struggled with inner agent three has a "Skill Issue" I bested her on my fourth or fifth attempt. I heavily disagree that she is the hardest Nintendo boss ever, as that can easily hands down go to punch out / super punch out gauntlet to the final boss then the final boss alone if you use the pass word code to just have the opportunity to challenge him.

I see this probably being a spin-off movie based on Donkey Kong or even Yoshi. that being said, I didn't really have a problem with the licensed since yeah the movie would be better without them but at the same time, its to be expected from these kinds of movies(Scooby-Doo, Garfield, Yogi bear, and etc.).

I will never stop liking The Super Mario Bros. Movie (more than anything by Disney nowadays including Frozen which it made fun of when Princess Peach took the Ice Flower) and expecting the absolute best out of the sequel with the potential of new characters, worlds and maybe even themes explored even with the same animation with its extreme cartoonish appeal for it to really feel so unapologetically Mario. 😊

Honestly, Take on Me was especially blatant in how unfitting it was. Like, at the very least with the other licensed song that did make it into the movie proper, one could argue that those at least kinda fit the situation they're played in, such as Battle Without Honor or Humanity somewhat fitting the vibe of an epic, or not, battle about to go down; or I Need a Hero kinda fitting Mario training to become, well, a hero. But Take on Me sticks out like a sore thumb because it absolutely DID NOT fit the scene it's played in (Mario, Peach, Toad and the Kong driving around DK Island) in the SLIGHTEST. You could pick any other 80s song and it would fit just as well lol

I just agree, if a counterpart were to recommend watching a show that has pink or blue haired characters where one is a strong independent girl boss with ambiguous sexuality I'd laugh in their face for even thinking I'd be interested. However Arcane does it in a way where I thoroughly enjoyed it perhaps due to not focusing on shoving anything down or throats and not making that stuff the forefront of character.
