This traditional piece is a true replica of the Mughal royal court dance, when Kathak performances used to be a whole night affair. The artists were appreciated and given endless time and honor by the kings. This piece starts from "Salaami", which is followed by "Thaat" (ways to posture), "Aamad" , knitted with "Tukdas", "Tihais" and "Laree" in "Teen Taal" and "Drut Laya". Enjoy :-)
Satya Bhama aur Rukmini - OPAL Recital '10

This play is OPAL's first attempt in pure Abhinaya in contemporary form. The play narrates the story about Krishna and his two beloved wives Rukmini and Satya Bhama. This story depicts victoroy of love over jealousy. Bhama wants Krishna's undivided attention, and gets very insecure by the presence of Rukmini, but Naarad makes her realize the value of true love in a very peculiar way.

Great song & music. In this video the choreography and dance by the little ladies is very charming. Thanks for uploading. I am beginning to appreciate the subtle significance of gestures.
