Hi Friends. Welcome to our backyard. By way of a virtual introduction, we're Dana & Art. This channel's inception came after filling a void in the step-by-step video we did on assembling our very first gazebo, published to our Spirited Wrenchers channel. Little did we know how popular it would become, and how many consumers are looking for that type of assistance with creating the perfect backyard with items such as pergola's, gazebos, and furniture. That brings us to now. We're hoping this channel provides help to our viewers like you, whether it be how-to assembly or help with a buying decision based on our videos/reviews. Thank you for being a part of our journey and we're excited to be a part of yours. Cheers!

Nice tent that serves multiple purposes and you certainly can’t beat a 2 minute inflate time! 👍
Thanks for watching and sharing. We really appreciate it. This is definitely cool and the grandkids can't wait to play in it this month. LOL.
@ I agree, cool for sure and you two are too young to be grandparents lol.
@@inspiringbuilds LOL. Thank you for that. I thought that at first as well but now I'm not sure how life would be without them.
@@SpiritedBackyards Agreed, kids are awesome. Even better if you can spoil them and give them back. 😂
@inspiringbuilds amen to that!
Could this be assembled on a pre existing 6’x8’ platform or is it designed specifically for that platform?
Hi Briancourtney, thanks for watching and asking. We really appreciate it. Are you referring to the stand or the base(floor) that the walls are installed onto?
@ we have a 6x8 platform already, so not the size and shape of the base. I couldn’t tell if the the walls were sized for the based as a package or if it could be affixed to a different platform
@@briancourtney6676 , ahhh, yes the walls were sized for the base and have a slight overhang. The base is a part of then entire blind anyway so I wouldn't look at putting the sides up on something else. It would be more work for no savings. You trying to decide on whether to build or buy?
Looking for a decent but affordable hard sided blind vs pop ups (bow primarily). Booner 5-sided or similar but not seeing many good reviews on anything that’s $1000 or less. Might resort to building something but would prefer to purchase
@briancourtney6676 that's a tough task buddy. When I found more affordable ones, they had horrible reviews or leaked really bad a year or earlier. Also hardware on the cheaper ones is get what you pay for. I didnt want to spend the money but my wife talked me into it. She doesn't help me be reasonable sometimes. Lol. I didnt want to go through the effort of building our own knowing my time is also very valuable and tied up with other projects. I wish you luck on your search.
Awesome!
Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. Much appreciated!
NICE video!
@@gilbertochoa1553 Thank you for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it.
This is an awesome addition to your property. I love the father son project as well. Now you have luxury hunting. We call luxury camping glamping so will now have to come up with a name for luxury hunting.
@inspiringbuilds thanks buddy. Appreciate you watching and sharing the kind words. We appreciate it. The projects with our kids are always the best for me regardless of how tough they are. Lol, yeah, let me know what you come up with. We'll see how the first day goes before I look to see if I need to modify our setup. Hope it works great in its current state. Cheers!
Dude, that blind looks awesome. That should certainly make those early mornings in Ohio much more enjoyable when waiting for the big bucks. Good luck with this season and thanks for the sharing the details on this one. Huge help for those considering them.
Thank you so much for watching and following sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it.
How long did it take you guys
we spent a portion of 2 days putting it together. We could have done it one had bad weather not started to creep, in so we called it early on the first day. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for walking through the process. We recently installed this gazebo, and later, noticed that this gazebo wobbles during the wind gusts. Do you recommend any solutions? In my case, Gazebo is already bolted to the ground and is sturdy. However, during high winds, it is the top part that wobble.
Hi jaspinderjawandha. Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it. Your question is an impossible one to answer as we're not able to assess the build or the structure virtually but we can say for certain that these all have a wind rating on them and high winds, they will wobble a little due to the thin walled legs. Our large gazebo does as well in high winds but ultimately is still very sturdy. Wish we could provide other insight but unfortunately we're unable to. Cheers!
Thank you so much for a great video. Your tip about checking for bent cnnections was great. When I tried to assemble with my wife, had ha heck of a time to connect the post with one of the cross beams. Took it apart and realized that one of the pieces was bent. Thought of that from your video. Used plyers and now gazebo is fully assembled.
Hi ih2898. Thank you so much for watching and sharing the kind words as well as your own journey with us. We're thankful we were able to assist in your build. We hope you have many enjoyable years with your new gazebo. Cheers!
Thanks for video
Hi VinhTran. Thank you for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it!
How is it holding up?
Hi Jeff. It's holding up great. The only learning lesson was to take down the curtains during the winter when not needed but otherwise. No issues at all. Thanks for watching.
The z panels are a problem cause they fall off,I decided to screw them with 3/8 self tapping screws and it worked perfectly
Hi Ramiro. Thanks for watching and sharing with the community. We really appreciate it. There are always more ways to build these than what we do. Lol.
Ok on those panels the guides slide off ,so grab 3/8 “ self tapping screws and screw them so they don’t fall off
My comment about our experience was deleted it seems. Why?
Hi Brian. Thanks for watching. Not quite sure as I don't recall delecting any comments. Please try to share again. Would love to hear about your experience.
@@SpiritedBackyards I did a reply earlier this afternoon...and it is gone again. It explained about our bad experience ordering and the company.
@@brianyost5131 Something with it must be getting caught by UA-cam community standards. No idea why as we haven't removed any comments specific to you. So weird. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them. We haven't heard that from others.
How long did this take to put together? I see the two ladders, saw benches, drills. Are there any other tools that you recommend up front.
Thanks for watching. We completed it in 2 days but had we really pushed, we likely could have done it in 1 day. No other tools than what we show used. Hope that helps.
What are the functions of the Z and Z1, Z2 brackets. Is it imperative to have these installed? All of the panels are in place and I didn’t put these brackets on. Should I take it apart and install them? I am not sure of their function. Everything seems very sturdy and stable without them
Hi Joymama8. Thanks for watching. We appreciated it. Those brackets help hold the roof panels in place. We're really not sure how you got everything together without them and it all seems sturdy. LOL. If we were in your shoes, we would just hold on to the brackets to see if a problem develops in inclement weather and then install if necessary. Good luck and we hope you have many enjoyable days with your gazebo.
I just recently assembled this gazebo and found the z brackets to have absolutely no function once the panels were bolted in place. After 3 hours of trying to assemble just 4 panels with the brackets installed, I just went ahead and left them off.
@@geffmcleod4596 Thank you. I wrote to the company and their response was: "The function of #Z is prevent water leakage and make the roof panels more firmly stuck. Please tell me if you need replacement #Z parts. "💁♂
@@joymama5Nope. I kept them all but I highly doubt these brackets add anything to water leak prevention or stability. I would worry more about the lack of drainage in the channels at the bottom of the panels!
@@geffmcleod4596 Thank you for sharing with everyone. We appreciate it.
The roof is a nightmare getting started. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it. We agree. We lost our patience several times while we were trying to figure it out initially. Lol. We hope you have many enjoyable days with your gazebo now. Cheers!
On the pieces to guide the roof pieces ,since they fall off all you do is screw them with 3/8 self tapping screws
Outstanding! Y'all put a lot of effort and attention to detail in this instructional and it's greatly appreciated. Thank you both!
Hi namor. Thank you for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it and am glad this was of help to you. We've learned quite a bite after assembling several of them. Lol. Cheers.
Thank you!! You saved my weekend with this video. Your pro tips were perfect.
Hi Brian. That is fantastic. Thank you for watching, sharing the kind words and your journey with us. We really appreciate it and thankful our video has another success story under it's belt. We hope you have many enjoyable days with your gazebo. Cheers!
You are excellent at explaining the details. I really appreciate your video. I don’t think I could have done it without your knowledge and experience. 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much Nancy for watching and sharing the kind words. We really do appreciate that. Thankfully we've had some experience assembling several gazebo so that helped with this one. We're so glad this video helped you out with your build and we hope you have many days of enjoyable relaxing with your pergola.
Looks great, but what is the wind rating?
HI Anna. Thanks for watching and sharing the kind words. For the wind rating you will need to check with the Yoleny site as they may have it listed. We'll be doing a 1 year update video on this next month. They've had some wild weather in southern IL and there have been no issues with it. Cheers!
You guys are awesome this is the best installation video to date for this model. The Angel's in the details. Thank you 👍
Thank you Mike for watching and the incredibly nice words. We really appreciate that. We know how those details can mean the difference between a smooth build and a very frustrating one, so we try to include them all. Cheers!
@@SpiritedBackyards do have a link or where I can get to a PDF doc or video on installing Yolney 10x20 gazebo?
@@mikemorris5944 Hi Mike. Unfortunately we do not as we haven't assembled one of those yet. Our closest is the 12x20 by Kozyard, which is likely pretty close to a 10x20. We just haven't seen one to know for certain. Here is the link to that video in case it can help you. It's on our other channel. ua-cam.com/video/w5KSewrJ-sc/v-deo.htmlsi=haesCkvYARrWBx5h
Just received Yolney 12x20 it came in only 5 boxes. Am I missing one?
Hi Mike. Thank you very much for watching and asking. Since we did this video last year, Yoleny may have changed up how they are packing these. I would go through your materials list to see if you are in fact missing something. Hopefully you are not. Come back and let us know how the assembly went if you don't mind. Cheers!
Where were the instructions? Apparently they forgot to pack them in ours.
Thanks for watching and sharing. Sounds like an error on whoever was packing these. Hate to hear that. Please try to contact their customer service and if you don't get anyone, let me know and I'll see if our friend (who we built this for) still has their book so we can either scan it and email them to you.
If it wasn't for this set by set we may never have put it together. We did have to tweak it a bit. One of the long side center brace did not have holes in it to attach the panels. My hubby who is very handy made the hole. Thank you! }i{
HI Kiki. Thank you so much for watching and sharing with us. We're very happy to hear this episode helped you and your hubby out. Congrats to you both and an extra thumbs up to your awesome husband for fixing the manufacturing error. Haven't seen that yet, but it doesn't surprise me with how these are mass produced. We hope you have many, many relaxing days under your new gazebo! Cheers!
OMG Thank you so much, was having so much trouble with the panels. Explained beautifully.
Hi John. Thank you very much for watching and sharing with us. We really appreciate it and thankful that this episode was helpful to you. Those panels can certainly make someone lose their mind. LOL. Cheers!
Does your's leak in the middle when it rains? Mine does.
Hi Michael. Thank you for watching and sharing. We appreciate that. Hate to hear about the leaking. I haven't heard any reports from my sister (we built it for her house) but I'll check in to see just to make sure. I'll circle back if I hear anything different.
Finally finished our 10x12 with your help and my wife. we are both short . so the challenge was more evident. i know. How short? I am 5'4 and my wife 5' . I watched your helpful video 3 times . counting that and two rain delays, it took us just shy of three days to put it together.
Hi Teodoro. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your journey with us. We really do appreciate it. Congratulations on your build. We certainly understand the vertically challenged part. I'm 5'6 and Dana is 5'3. Glad you both worked through the challenges together to get it done. We hope you have many enjoyable days under your gazebo. Cheers!
Another great build!
Thank you Kathy for watching and sharing the kind words. We appreciate you!
Another beautiful gazebo build. You two are pros at this by now. Thanks for sharing with everyone out there!
Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. We appreciate you following along!
Do you have the sizes of each boxes and their corresponding weights? Thanks.
Hi Jawama. Thank you for watching and asking. We appreciate it. Unfortunately we do not. Dana is 5'3" for scale. The boxes were all a 2-person carry for the most part. Hope that helps some.
Absolutely beautiful pergola and assembly guidance. This is going to help anyone that purchases this. Thanks for sharing with everyone and good luck with the new channel. You both deserve it!

Love the new name in the new channel and the background is just tremendous
Thank you brother. We appreciate your support and the kind words. It means a lot to us! This property is my sister and brother-in-laws place and it's definite nice. Even nicer with the pergola. LOL.
This thing is a beast! What a beautiful addition for a backyard. Great tip to get all the parts together before you start. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve not had all the hardware for assembly’s
Thank you watching and sharing Matt. We really appreciate it. This was our first pergola of this size and it just goes perfectly with this particular location. I'm hoping they have furniture when we go back so we can relax and enjoy without the work. LOL. Cheers!
