Hello.im interviewing for line haul. I did this before for LandAir Express. I'm just wondering about how R&L does line haul. Is it touch freight? Live load& unload? D&H? I'm curious. I'm in Massachusetts going to work in S.Windsor CT .I love driving nights ( 3rd shift) Days ( 1&2 shifts are over crowded on the roads.a lot of accidents. I hope I get 3rd shift.

Sh$t I did Core Mark for 4 months and literally quit at my second stop at a 7-11 in August on a 105 degree day - I wouldn't go back to food service for $60 an hour!!! That was back in summer of 2017... At $37 an hour now in LTL (started at $27 an hour back in 2018). ... For those wondering R&L starts at 31-33 hrly at least here in San Joaquin / Stanislaus county California (I don't work for R&l I work for a smaller LTL company out of Manteca, California). I pretty much always just head to my stops business or residential and if I have any question that I won't have room to turn around I won't turn into a certain parking lot or Street and will find somewhere to park put my flashers on and get out take a walk and check for myself. If we're in a 48 or 53 and even think it's not doable all we have to do is put down needs 28 or bobtail and it goes out the next day.

I’m very grateful to the Lord because I will be starting my CDL program in three weeks. Everything is official. Performance group is on my list of companies that hire new CDL drivers. Glad to see this video. I’ll be watching the rest of them as well.

I'm currently doing food service. I'm looking forward to the day when I give it up for good. The money is great, the wear and tear on the body isn't worth it.

The fact that there are still trucking companies that follow that old bill disgusts me. It also shows that they don’t value their drivers. If you work over 40 hours you should receive OT like the rest of the world.

I been doing pc otr on ny resets and I always go against my drop. Will see when dot gets my logs. I'm sure he's going to find something anyway.

Overtime pay?

We have already caught our management team in their voyeuristic behaviors. They have been observed by other employees marking drivers and their behaviors in the cab of a truck, even though they were not illegal behaviors. They laughed at drivers for grooming, their nose hairs, for picking their noses, for scratching their balls and many other minor things. Drivers have gotten so fed up with the nanny state of this industry that they have started, mooning cameras. One driver was fired for sexual harassment because he was holding his balls while he was driving. The point is it’s a slippery slope on what they will deem as safe and non-safe driving characteristics. These are typically people that are never seen the light of day in a truck. It’s usually those same people that we deal with on the road cutting us off, and accidents. For those who are willing to accept this from an employer, you might as well move to China because America will not stand for this violation of our rights and expectations of privacy.

It is invasion of privacy. It's there to protect the company's butt and definitely not to help the drivers at all. Glad I am retired.

Question, So what did you not like about PFG? I'm asking because i am leaving R&L linehaul for PFG linehaul. The main reason for leaving R&L is because I hate the wait time and not being paid for it. They say the 1st year will suck because you not having any seniority. The other night after waiting since 10pm I was told at 2am that they didn't have anything for me.

Now the sticky part is RETURNING to where the OC originated. As long as I do that or log returning to my home terminal before starting my next load I’m good. Look up the ruling and the “GUIDANCE “ to the ruling for the use of PC.

I don't miss food service at all. Left after a year and went to flatbed. I am wondering how much experience is needed to get on with RL Carriers because I know a guy that has about 6 month garbage truck experience and is talking bout leaving that for RL because a driver told him that he makes $500 a day and is home everyday. I personally have 7 years experience with oil fields, dry box and refer. I'm just trying to picture someone with 6 months experience of garbage truck drivin making $500 a day.

RL Carriers Dallas terminal is the worst disorganized place I've worked , what's the qualifications for terminal manager's....wow it's really bad ! Jack

Just word of advice when dropping your tail trailer before you pull forward lock your glad hands to the mounts in the basket and you will never loose air. Or cut off the air supply from your lead and bleed the air and let it free wheel. But since you just starting connect your glad hands to the dolly basket and you will be OK. Stay safe out there and keep the rubber side down.
