CHEAP Micro Jig Catches ALL The BIG SNAPPER - Baits, jigs, Riggs & Location (FT Snapper, Nannygai)
Переглядів 3622 місяці тому
We all know how expensive fishing lures and jigs can be, usually ranging from the $15 to $30 mark depending on size and manufacturer. So when a $5 jig out performs all the expensive jigs, you stand up and pay attention. That's exactly what happened 2 weeks ago while fishing the new moon. Paulie and I have had a fair few fishing trips together over the years. Only a few have been as fun and prod...

In this video, I'm at it early in the morning, casing Snapper on soft baits around the inshore reefs with some new colour soft baits. When the sun is high enough in the sky for the light to penatrat deeper into the water column, I head wide in search of a few more fish for the chilly bin. Squid is next on the list of things to catch with a nice mixed bag I head for home. Kind of a species chall...

Come along as I head out on an early morning mission to catch a feed for the family. The girls have requested Squid for dinner and I'm more than happy to provide. I catch a few snappers while waiting for the tide to rise. The squid are plentiful and I have plenty within 15 minutes. My curiosity gets the better of me as I head out to the artificial reef with a few small live squid to see what mi...

I take some good friends out for a fishing mission on the south coast searching for some quality Snapper, only to be rudely interrupted by a whale. Fishing is the last thing on our minds as we watch it circle the boat, playing with the drift shoot, swimming under the boat and surfacing over and over again right next to our boat.

Damn! The video swam away!
Thanks Flackie. Another great day fishing in the Clyde. As always some good tips about prevailing weather and drift. Just the numbers you and Razamataz clock up during the day makes my mouth water. You might want to get outside but a day like that on the river is more than enough for me.
I’ve never seen a dolphin jump out of the water so high. Looks like a big school too judging by where the one furthest from the boat broaches. Classic video Flacks Fishing Adventures!
please direct your camera.
Sorry, it was difficult getting worms and getting footage
This maybe an obvious question but why do most people + videos etc recommend using low tide to fish for whiting ? Is there a science or technique thats different for high tide?
I actually prefer the rising tide up to the top of the tide, usually in the afternoon. I think the fish feed in the wash near the shore as it comes up picking any creatures that haven't buried deep enough before the tide has come back in.
Raw coral prawn also, works a treat kids Ox heart. Red meat is,good if blowies aren’t around
Location ?
The beach
Most of my videos are around Batemans Bay, where I live. This 1 included.
😜😂
Your fishing the easiest spot to get to on a sunny day with no swell but all you can take from it is a bad moon phase. Wow. No idea
@greglindfield2767 Are you saying there is no fish there because that's where everyone goes fishing ? Or I'm in the wrong spot because there's not enough swell and movement in the ocean ?
Love proper Aussies fishing shows ..great work mate
Cheers, mate. Appreciate the support 🤙
Amazing
A great sight worth posting.
Great fishing guys
Cheers for the awesome afternoon lads 😊 fingers crossed we do a bit better next time.
Love your work matey 🎣

Outstanding work champion, great video thanks for sharing your adventures

How do you build a data sheet when you catch f...k all?
😆 I made this video in February, I have collected enough data to show the common factors you need to come together to have that epic day. Hopefully, I will get the next video up next month. 🙏
I would also suggest finding a few people in your local area who post their catches on social media. When you see their post, note what they caught and collect the data for that day. This will also help you find the prime days in your area. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please ask. happy to share any knowledge I have. 😊
@@flacksfishingadventures1199 Cheers
How do you go with surfers? I am just starting beach fishing and I don't want to get in anyones way or anything
Good question. Most surfers will be pulling off the waves before they get to the shoreline. The fish will be holding in the shallow parts of the gutters where the surfers aren't surfing. There could be a few people entering the gutter to paddle out, but this shouldn't bother the fish. The surfers might be able to see the fish and tell you where they are holding in the gutter. If you are fishing where you're having issues with surfers, just move to the next gutter. I will only stay in the 1 spot if I'm catching fish, if I haven't had a bite or fish in a few minutes I slowly bring my bait in then recast in a new spot or move along the beach till you find the fish. I usually move 100 to 150m on either side of where I start fishing, looking for the best spots, which will often change with the rising tide and as the currents pull to different parts of the gutters. Ideally, you want the current running along the beach over a sand bank, then falling into a rip and getting dragged out cast up on the bank and let you bait get dragged along the bank then into the gutter. Hope this helps 👍
@@flacksfishingadventures1199 Yeah great reply thank you! That makes sense. And thanks for the tips, I still haven't caught a fish yet but I will perservere!
@divad435 where do you live? Are you targeting whiting
@@flacksfishingadventures1199 Sydney! And yeah whiting and bream :)
@divad435 If you can find time, go on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th of may high tide in the afternoon, and the moon is close to earth during that period target the last half of the run in tide with fresh worms on nippers fingers crossed you get a few let me know how you go 👍
Green goggle eyed bushy blowfiies always catch the best whiting don't they Flacko'.
nice session mate epic video! whiting is a good Mulloway bait or yakkas.
What bait for whiting on corcle hook
Fresh beach worms are my go-to collect them on th low tide, then fish the run in
good stuff!! keep your vids coming!!
Cheers mate 👍
Never touch another mans rod, unless you're that way inclined. i detect a Kiwi here with his "chilly bin"
Haha 😄 yeah my mates old boy thought he was on. Auzzy as lad just like to throw the chilly bin in to mix it up.
Nice work again mate... what size boat?
4.95 Alison Arafura gets the job done 👍
Nice work mate. Subbed. You fish similar to me. I'm heading West soon and I hear they don't have sand worms over there 😢. Probably just use squid or ghost crabs I guess... Cheers 🍻
There is a comment on here saying you get them on beaches where the seaweed builds up. Might be worth a look if you find seaweed 😃
@@flacksfishingadventures1199 Awesome mate... hadn't heard that before. I'll give it a go. I find catching sand worms nearly as much fun as catching whiting... and arguably more challenging. But I'm sure they don't taste as good!! 😂😂 Cheers
No audio after intro music. Take two!
🙄 dropped the ball 😆
@flacksfishingadventures1199 That's fishing. Make another cast. Cheers

No problems, bud. 😊 to help 👍
Thank you sir for sharing the information, 👍👍
Hi Flacky. What length RealFinesse rod are you using for the beach? What do you think of it? Worth the $s?
The rod is an Abu Garcia Eradicator real finesse 7.9ft pe 0.1 to 0.3 (ERFS - 79 ULS - EFX - TZ ) they have the finest tip I've ever seen I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now and haven't damaged it as yet. I do like it for smaller fish. It definitely helps with keeping small fish on the hook with the super soft tip. I can't remember how much I paid for it. I only use it to catch whiting. When I'm using it with Circle Hooks off the beach for whiting, it rarely misses a hook up pretty much every bit equates to a fish. Having said that, I hooked a 2.5kg salmon off the beach, and it took me 15 to 20 minutes to land the fish. Everyone fishing on the beach had to bring their lines in as it was swimming up and down the beach. I gave the fish to 1 of the bloks that was there, so he didn't mind bringing his lines so I could get past.
Dont catch John dory very often i have seen people get the odd one on live bait and sometimes jigs.
I think I dropped 3 more that day they all felt the same pulling them up. I just pulled the hook on the others 🫣
Plenty of snapper there Justin. Have to get down to that wonderful part of the south coast.
For sure, let Auzzy Bob know when you're coming down, and I'll try and get you out there to catch some of those Snaps.
@@flacksfishingadventures1199Fabbo! Coming down for a rendezvous with Whitebeard n Aussie Bob in late March. Looking forward to catching up with Mary too.
Yeh good info thanks appreciated. What are the rod/reel setups and big rod setup 9’6 ta
sure bud the rod is an Abu Garcia Eradicator real finesse 7.9ft pe 0.1 to 0.3 (ERFS - 79 ULS - EFX - TZ ) they have the finest tip I've ever seen I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now and haven't damaged it as yet... you could probably find something similar in fibre glass that would be a bit more robust. The reel is a quantum exo 25 or 15 I can't recall its pretty beaten up but still works well given its age and abuse and running 6LB Braid .😉 hope this helps and cheers for the question 👍 😀
The ball sinkers I use weight 19 grams. Size 6 bait holder hook or size 4 circle hook work well. 300 to 350 mm of 8 LB leader I always use fluorocarbon leader. And a small swivel
Hope this helps 🙂 fingers crossed that they are still around.
Yeh lovely, thank you. The big rod 9’6 one you mentioned looked like a Daiwa What rod/real is in that setup
@evkore it is a diawa. I'm running 38LB on Quantum Smoke II 50. It proved to be a bit too stiff in the tip with the setup I was running and kept pulling hooks. I'm not sure of the model. I think it was around the $120 mark.
Love the channel keep up the great work!
Cheers, legend, keep watching 😉😀 lol
Wow very quick response!
Like your style mate. Can't beat good old school fishing, collect your own worms and yabbies, takes me back to simpler times.
But should be using an alvey mate.
Cheers, bud. I appreciate your support 👍
King flacka. Getting it done fella
Cheers, lad. I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍
Hope everyone enjoys the 1st catch and cook.😀 This Burger is in the top 3 burgers 🍔I've ever eaten amazing Munga
Interesting session
Mate you done a great job . But try to adjust your camera in the right angler so can make your video more better for your follower 😊
Haha, yeah, fair point it's hard to keep track of everything. I'll do better 😉👍
I found that I couldn't hook whiting with circles and did much better with j hooks. Interesting to hear you use them, and do OK.
That rod that I use has the softest finest tip you'll ever see. Once I get a bite, I just start slow winding, and I hook up every time. I ran out of the circle hooks a few days earlier, nailing the whiting in those gutters.
@@flacksfishingadventures1199thanks. Can you please share the model of the Rod. ?

love your work mate.
Cheers, lad, glad you're enjoying them. going for another crack this morning, so fingers crossed 🤞
Thanks for this, it's actually useful for novices
Cheers, bud. I know what you're saying. There is no point showing someone an awesome fish if you don't show them how to catch it. We were all beginners at some point 😃
Nice work
Check out the size of those squid. I can't wait for this rain to ease and some clean water to push back in 😮
Hello Sir, thank you for this video. I am passionate about technology. I have a very light cane a 5-30g. For the weight of lead how much to take in grams? Do you have any advice on how to succeed in this technique? Thank you and happy new year sir.
The ball sinkers I use weight 19 grams. Size 6 bait holder hook or size 4 circle hook work well. 300 to 350 mm of 8 LB leader I always use fluorocarbon leader. And a small swivel
Use a light, soft tip rod with a light drag and never rush to land your fish, even smooth, constant pressure on the fish, slowly working it in 🐌 slow and steady wins the race
Thank you for the feedback. 🙋♂️👍
I subscribed, your videos are fine. Sincerely
Subbed, looking forward to getting good information.
I'm happy to help with whatever questions you have. Cheers for the sub👍
Any beach except WA. We don't have worms we can collect!
Yeah, right. I never realised that was the case. Nippers also work extremely well. But now you have me wondering why they are predominantly along the east and south coasts of Australia and not on the west 🤔.. I wonder if you transported some live ones whether you could start a small population of them over there 🤔 or if that would even be legal.
Fished in Geraldton and collected plenty of worms from the seaweed banks, needs to be seaweed that has been on beach for a long time, they aren’t the big worms like those in east but just regular earth worms, the whiting love them.
@@chrisstevens463Thanks for that bit of info Steve. I'm heading to live in the West soon. How do you catch them? Just lift the seaweed, dig for them, or lure them up like a sand worm? Cheers 🍻
@@outdooraussie6355 Just dig for them,it’s need to be old seaweed, you will get dirty hands because it is composted and it will be warm.
In WA I have found that sugar prawns mixed in dessicated coconut are an absolute killer bait for whiting The sugar firms the prawn and the coconut leaves it's own berley trail.
Surley there’s no big whiting on every beach
You would be surprised 😮 what you can find at your local. As long as the beach has wash dragging sand down the beach, reasonably well-defined gutter set ups and your willing to move up and down the beach till you find where the school of fish are hanging out in those zones, don't stay in the one spot to long if you're not getting bites move every 5 or 10 minutes some times casting 10m to the left or right can make a massive difference. target the run-in tides in the late arvo and early morning 👍👌. Let me know how you go...
Are you in NSW
On the South Coast, bud 👍
