I just finished the series, I loved every minute of it! I wish it would never end!

I am embarrassed to say I never heard of Cranford until 2 days ago. I am from USA, I don't watch TV except to use my DVD's. I have always favored English movies over American for the detail & the flavorful richness of the English accent. I will presume many of the actors in the series Cranford started in stage/Theater as well as seasoned Shakespeare performers. After viewing season 1, I was helplessly drawn into this enchanting period piece. I am now ready to view episode 5. Bravo to all who partook in this magnificent works.

Cranford is VERY well written, with details true to the period. Until I saw the movie series, I had no idea it was once considered inappropriate for women to follow behind a casket or attend a funeral of a family member in England. Being American, by the time my country really got started the practice has long been done away with, and people lived on farms, so they pretty much had their own Graveyards on their property, so there was no walk through town with the casket, etc. to the cemetery, so you see the differences that have taken place over the years. I've watched Cranford many times, thanks to UA-cam and LoveLives being kind enough to have it as one of her favs on the playlist.
